Absolutely right. Have a punch rig, soft and hollow frogs, and small spy bait and large spy bait set-up for my tourny tomorrow. And a few pitching jig setups for docks. But spy bait has been KILLING it here lately for me and I've never seen anyone use them here in Southern Illinois. People been whining about "No Bite July" here but I've been smashing bass all last month and into June. I'm getting top 3 tomorrow, for sure. Cheer Ty.
Not gonna lie , Texas rig is the way to go , but I’ve been throwing a 12.5 worm way out in the middle of ponds , letting it sink and slowly jigging it and then reel in barely and I’ve caught quite a few big summer bass on it
Dang. I normally catch my biggest during winter, especially heading into Spring. I’ve caught some this summer though, more consistently, which has been a relief.
@@thatfishingnoob man I've been an angler all my life and I here about guys doin good during the winter...I've not done it a lot but I will be this year. I live in southwest Virginia, the heart of Appalachia and my climate may be different than yours
Me too. Summer makes bass very predictable lol and I catch all my bigs in summer. All my pb bass have came in the hottest months of summer over the years. It's all about knowing how to fish the season and conditions. Being from the south I deal with summer heat longer every year and that's why I'm good at those conditions lol.
@@blind_eye_fishing that may be the case with me too. I've also heard that all the quality female bass go deep during hot months but again,my experience has been absolutely contrary to this rule. I'm astonished at how shallow some of my 6 pounders have been.
@@adammitchell3462 yep my 8lb pb was caught in 102 temps in 4 foot of water on a lilly pad edge. I pull bigs all the time from that vegetation and ot gets as shallow as 8in lol. I've literally seen bass come out of vegetation that their back fin was out the water when they darted out from under a mate of pads lol.
Hey Tyler, we spoke at the last expo in Columbus & u were asking about small lakes not too far away that would be good for your lake breakdown vids. I hasn't fished it at the time, but I've since found out Cedar Creek Lake is a gem full of good bass. You’ve probably already been there, but if not u should definitely check it out! No pleasure boats or jet skis allowed, which helps out a lot. Keep up the good work man, & hope to see ya at the next expo!
Could you do a series of how to fish muddy waters with less than 8” of visibility for each season? As a fellow Ohioan. Most of our waters in southwest Ohio are dirty year long. It seems like square bills, Texas rig craws, senkos, and jigs are about the only things that work. I’ve tried so many other types and haven’t had any luck. Especially during the hottest summer months
Also I've found small finesse stuff works well. I live in NJ, and there's no such thing as a body of water that's not heavily pressured. I've had my best luck using a small crappy jig with a little tiny wiggly bait. Caught both my pb large mouth and pickerel on that surprisingly. And it's fun because it's a small hook and bait, you catch lots of stuff, not just the big stuff.
I usually go with an ultralight setup when fishing heavy pressure. My favorite bait is a black or green pumpkin donkey tail (full size not the Jr.) On a Ned hook. And I'll drop down to 6lb mono or floro. The donkey tail ALWAYS provides.
Summer imo is the easiest to fish next to spawn since the bass are 100% predictable in where they will be at lol. They are under vegetation, shade lines or deep structure always in the summer. They dont roam much either so day after day you can find them in the sane areas 😂. Now only time it gets tough imo is florida because they have so much vegetation to hide in lol. But i do fish waters like that here and catch all my bigs in the heat of summer to late summer.
Really enjoy the context that you been putting out, Here's a question for ya, How much $ do you think you lost over the year due to Snags, Break offs, and Other situations?
Does anyone else feel like half the strike king/rapala cranks you buy end up swimming sideways even after you try to tune them? They're great lures too
On your punching rig, couldn't you just use some of those bobber stoppers to position your sinker far enough forward of the actual bait so as to not have the sinker act as mouth opener on the bass?
Hands down the best youtube channel. You have changed the way I fish in every aspect & I couldn’t thank you enough.

People say that summer fishin in general is tuff but I consistently catch my best throughout later summer months

Great info sir! Clear, and very detailed information!
caught my first two bass yesterday on a dropshot rig with a roboworm
The setup doesn’t get much better than that
Love your videos man. I want to support you 100%. If you did a hat without the big billboard fish on the front I’d definitely buy one!
Could you do video on lures for fishing heavy pressured urban/city lakes like lake Michigan and rivers?
Drop shot, Ned rig, shaky head, wacky rig. Give those a try

Awesome lures bud thank you will try these on my vacation next week on the lake

Great tips. Do you prefer the G-fix version or the original spy bait?
Good stuff Tyler. Good info sir.
The 6in fat robo in MM3 is crushing for me with largies!
Yesterday I could not get a bite until I tied on the margarita mutilator with the 1/4 oz drop shot rig
Thanks for the tips
SHOUT-OUT TO MIKEY!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Can’t wait for the lake break. Didn’t know you also watch MikeyBalzz 😂
Swim Jig, slow rolled chatterbait numbers 6 and 7.
Got my 7lb pb this year June 25th
Crank bait just showed me what’s up with 4 bass in an hour 🤘🏻🤘🏻

🚨🚨🚨spy bait mentioned🚨🚨🚨
Yep, just wish it was shown…..what it it?
What weight in these I bought one it was super small did not like it
@@bfriendly100 there's a lot of good ones out there. I use the spro spy baits but tackle wearhouse has them all.
@@MajorSmartBassFishing you gotta fish it on spinning gear or a MGL reel.
@@LostHinkleShad i mean what weight of lure I see like 5 kinda I think I want one the size of a jerkbait

Is the relis spinnbait 80 worth it? (Spybait) do you use it and if not what do you use in place of.?
Nice💛💛💙💛💛
what do you think of tokyo rig for punch style drop shot?
Yeah, great idea! Tokyo rig has disappeared…
What what color are tube? Looks like a blue girl like a brown color
damm it, its september now. now what do i use ?
W vid
I don't know why but it's too much glitching in your video. Thanks !

I'm pretty sure the frog is my least favorite lure to throw. I hate missing fish and hook up ratio just isn't good.
He has big creepy hands
