@@georgesglotin2803 D'après ce que j'ai lu et entendu des essais, dans les revues et sur YT les Monitor sont déjà de très bonnes enceintes. Alors j'envie ton plaisir que tu auras avec des KEF.
Pour ma part, je garde espoir d'une augmentation, ou d'un gain à la loterie, une fois que je me serais convaincu d'y jouer :-D pour jouir d'un tel ensemble audiophile.

I have been saving for these for the last 19 months. I'm about half way there.
I was too, for a long time. And tomorrow I'm picking them up at my dealer. It will be paired with my Yamaha AS2200. Excited does not cover it the least!

Some distortion heard on the loudest piano notes-was that the mic pre, the mic or the speakers? The piano sounds a little metallic through my reference grade monitoring system (Metric Halo DAC, passive preamp, JBL 705P plus sub/AKG K1000 headphones through Yamaha B-2 amplifier). Might that again be your recording equipment?

Ppl, cmon, these are multimedia columns. Bass is not fast, has a boom-boom frequency, mid range is mechanical. Highs are good, soft. I can bet a price is 1/3 they ask.

Would these work well with the Luxman 700 series. I am about to buy some R11 but is fearful it might be too bright with no bass, which I like, when hooked up to my Luxman. What do you think? I like a fuller sound.

Yes - Klipsch Cornwall IV, or La Scala much better - the sound here is the result of the McIntosh amps and source, not the speakers

Nice speakers not a bad system but I never was a fan of Macintosh I do not like the styling of the components I'm more of an old-school Sansui guy Marantz guy but I do like the speakers then to each its own right

Kef r11 and vela 409.. There ca 1000€ between both speakers. If you could choose..prefer the kef for 5k oder the vela for 6k?
So Kef R11 matches well with this McIntosh set-up? I have the speakers but in black and am upgrading from Cambridge 851 amp and preamplifier to McIntosh MA12000 integrated or to McIntosh MC462 with C2700 separates. Does anyone else have experience with Kef R11 and McIntosh? I could use some input.

I have listened to the KEF R11's and I was very impressed with the sound of them. Very full clean and powerful bass. I also own the KEF R5 which fit my room better than the 7's or the 11's. I have not heard the other brands you mentioned. Best thing to do if you can, is go listen to them in person.
@@JuanLega Since they are hard tweeters how was the treble? I am treble sensitive so my guess is that it would be too much for me and I am looking for something warmer but still very clear, more neutral.
@@dnd6379 yes, they are metallic tweeters. How sharp the tweeter sounds can be dependant on the type of amplifier you use. Vacuum tube amps sounds really good with my KEF R5's. If you don't have an Amp right now and you want the KEF's I would look for an Amp that's warm sounding. Also, you can use different filters on your DAC that would produce more or less extended high end.
Are you looking to put together a whole new system or just upgrading your speakers?
@@JuanLega I would not be using any expensive tube units, looking at an amp maximum of 2k and plugging it into a receiver and use the fronts for theater and listening to music.
@@dnd6379 you can get great tube amps under $2000, such as the VTA ST120 or the VTA ST70. I own the VTA ST 70 and it sound great with the KEF R5. I also have a Cambridge Audio Azur 851w that sounds really good also. You can try Parasound also, I hear that the A23 + is a great Amp. If you are willing to go used you can get access to many great amps under $2k. Unfortunately sometimes you have to get the gear and try it out before you find out if it is going to work for you. Try to make you purchase somewhere that gives you a 30 day return.
I can tell you that personally when I first her the KEF's I fell in love with them.
By the way Best Buy Magnolia centers carry the new KEF R series, you can actually listen to them there.
I think much of the reason they sound so amazing is due to time insane amplification being used. They wouldn't and nowhere near as good with anything less than monster monoblocks.
K - Doggy I had them powered by a marantz mm8077 seven channel HT amp. And let me tell you they sound very very good
I have a Denon 4308 which on bench test puts out 200 w per channel and I can tell you mine sound fantastic. Garbage in garbage out.. high rez music through a good dac makes all the difference
But honestly, Who spends this much money gets that sound. After all, you can achieve better sound for a fraction of that money
This is not music. This is shit. It can be played on every audio and sound "good"
Piano is very hard to replicate in a speaker. I'm sure it sounds different in person then through a set of headphones or even worse another set of speakers
