Thanks for doing this piece CNN. I'm still amazed every time I hear No Malice speak at just how committed he is to the Lord. I pray that he is able to keep sharing his story and God uses it to change lives. Pusha is one of the best MC's ever. While I don't always agree with his message, I respect his skill and hustle. He makes rapping look easy
Another part that was dope is when the interviewer told Pusha, that "you understand that without the drug dealing you wouldn't have all this" and Pusha said, "no if I wasn't a great rapper, I wouldn't have all this" which is absolutely true. There are so much gangster/drug rappers that will never reach the legendary status that the Clipse has reached
Personally I disagree with him but I do think it's refreshing to see him specifically consider his words. He didn't let the reporter put him in a box. He at least isn't being hypocritical in saying that drugs made him what he is.
SuperWolfkin it would be foolish for us to believe 100% that drug money didn't help. Like Im sure some expenses in their early career was funded with Drug money but still in all he would find success without it. It would probably just take him much longer
He should've asked Bill if he felt the same way about the Kennedy family. Jfk's father was a bootlegger (liquor was that era's crack) and that's how the family rose to power. No one ever talks about that though...wonder why. Lol.
Clipse are the last of the realest Virginia Stand Up, No Malice has truly transcended and hes not lookin back no matter what, that brotha is makin a change and is passin on the message as god intended we must break this cycle in hiphop
Phenomenal interview Bill. We really would like to see more stuff like this. Its definitely an eye opener and should be watched by our youth because they NEED to see this. Two perspectives to a life that has glamorous moments yet they reveal very dark pasts in which one brother now sees the bigger picture while the other continues his journey. I'm a big fan of the clipse, always will be. I like the fact that they're respective of each others decisions because something like this could've very well destroyed their sibling relationship. We're all humans, we make mistakes and some of us are still learning but at the end of the day the bigger picture MUST be seen in order to move forward as individuals and more importantly as a society.
Amazing story. Pusha T is an amazing artist. Lyrically inclined and talks dope as smooth as a king pin. No Malice chose a different lane which I'm not particularly into, but I can respect. Lupe Fiasco almost retired when Chief Keef bombarded into the music industry. I listen to ALL rap. Trap, swag, conscious, you name it. Never have I ever listened to a song about murder or drug slinging and wanted to partake in such. I personally don't think it's the music that causes people to go crazy, but more so, the environment you grow up in. If I wake up to roaches, rats and dead bodies every morning, of course selling dope is going to seem fascinating enough to do. If I wake up in the suburbs inside a mansion, of course I can support such music and not feel the need to jeopardize my life. It's not a black or white situation. It's more about social class. The lower the class, the bigger the temptation.
@ 11:45..."if you hadn't dealt coke, you probably wouldn't have this car"....like his music career didn't amount to anything...just the negative stereotype of black men, that's all the interviewer vouches for.....I love Pushers polite response to that.
i respect malice a lot because he changed when he was still on top. a lot of people would have lost the fame and gone broke and then "changed". it shows his good character that he became a better person when he still had the power to go touring and make a lot of money spreading the wrong message.
I don't understand why they can't co-exist in a ying & yang type of way on another Clipse album. It would be creative and neat to hear Pusha's drug raps on 1 verse, and No Malice matching it with something that constrasts on the next verse.
Malice went after the true riches and the world remains blind to the fact that money being a higher priority than GOD is fools gold. Christ reigns over all.

Yin and Yang of hip-hop. I love the Clipse but I see no way that they'll have a reunion, Pusha T got the best metaphors in the game and to censor that is a travesty.
+SuperWolfkin he knows, hes just saying that there would be no point clipse reuniting because the inly way that would happen is if pusha censored himself for malices satisfaction
4:10. “I seen em pay for their fix when their kids couldn’t eat. And with that in mind, I still didn’t quit. And that’s how I know, that I ain’t shit” - Malice, I’m Not You
They are awesome. Right from out the same neighborhoods in Virginia. I met their oldest brother they are great ppl. I grew up listening to pusha t . I'm from Portsmouth VA and grew up in between Ptown and Norfolk Virginia. So hearing their story is awesome . I'm def. Going to continue to look for more stories about them.
And always remember my brother, one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish, knick knack, paddy whack, give a dog a bone, two thousand, zero, zero, party, oops! Out of time, my bacon smellin' fine.
Wow, great story!! I'm not familiar with this group (since I'm not a hip-hop/rap fan), but I am so blessed by the story! I pray all goes very well for both brothers!
This line fits perfectly how No Malice feels. Deepest regret and sympathy to the street I see them pay for they fix when they kids couldn't eat (so sorry) And with this in mind, I still didn't quit And that's how I know, that I aint shit (I aint shit) My heart bleed but that's aside from the fact, I live from my kids and theirs and them youngins after that
I think No Malice made a great decision! He saw something from God. No Jesus No Peace, Know Jesus, Know Peace🙏🏾 God bless you Gene Thorton God has great things in store for you!
Loved The Clipse when they were around and I really enjoyed this interview. Opening up about such life can definitely be a hard thing to do especially for Malice after turning his life around, however, good on him. It's good they both respect each other's view and path in life as well. The Clipse was definitely the best rap group, ever.
Blaise Bullion I was thinking he was using a variant of alumni because he referred to Hip-Hop veterans that caught wind of The Clipse. But who knows lool

Starting at 12:18 is the REAL message to the whole interview... then, skip to 13:18 - 14:14, EPIC! "That money at one time was out for my life." Then, he seals it with, "I have enough blood on my hands." I pray this brother is taking this much needed message to the masses in this dark industry... WakeUP! PeaceToTheLIFEofLove
Dope. Looking back at it, its not so shocking that No Malice gave himself up to Christianity. He was always the "conscience" of the Clipse while Pusha was the young gunner. No Malice was always the wiser one and the one who used the most morality in his verses. As a clipse fan Im at peace with them keeping the legacy as it is (3 amazing albums) now and not ruining it by forcing it. Plus No Malice has made it clear there will be no reunion and I believe him. Its probably for the best

Pusha T is a good guy man. As far as the industry, he should follow his brother's path honestly. Both are still great to this day. Congrats to Push for having the title of president of G.O.O.D. Music. Also, congrats to No Malice for his turnover to God.
thats it bro! just goes to show you how deep God can rock somebody, pun intended... classic story of Solomon and the vanity of pleasure outside of true freedom
Is it possible to agree with two contradictions ? Because I understand where they both come from. I respect their approach and opinions. I would love a Clipse reunion but I respect "No Malice" decision. Life must go on.
The Game is to be Sold to... not Told to. But respect Terror and Malice... I want a new Clipse album so bad... I always rated Clipse from i heard they used to hustle with they Grandma (HNIC)
I thought No Malice was just trying to take advantage of a christian rap genre but after seeing this brotha is for real I will defintely keep a look out on this.
First off it makes me feel soon good to actually read y'all comments and it's not filled with an immature statements that don't make sense or simply put "hate comments"....now with that said I want to say all of you guys make a valid point, and all I want to add on is that... No matter what genre music/musicians we talk about we have to remember that nowadays they are not just selling us their music but also selling their lifestyles "brand" so we must remember weather they raping about selling drugs or getting in shoot outs I highly doubt they are out there doing either at this moments of their lives. Because of technology like the social medias TH-cam twitter Instagram's Facebook all of that they are easily accessible and if they say something in their music but that what they say don't reflect in these outlets that will affect they sells or their brand so they must keep an appearance that will convince you that what they rap and/or sing about seem like they are doing as they wrap or sing but that's not true most of them know they are in the business and the business they are in is Music and it will be stupid to actually do the things they say in their music in real life that's all. Thanks for some really good convo.
Dope Interview... shocked to see it on cnn of all places! Check out No Malice on his track 'Bury That'. he addresses how he relates to his brother now plus its a dope song watch?v=RanNgjTeSs0
No Malice understands & knows what the Industry is like. . . Ddnt really like the Interviewer like tht kept saying Crack & Cocaine was to me was very unprofessional💯💯🍻
I wonder what CNN is trying to get done by running this story. It's not a love story for black people and certainly not for the church are christianity.
Damn No Malice straight up talks like a preacher. "Hip hop is the only genre that eats its babies." Mad respect for him.
the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice
Thanks for doing this piece CNN. I'm still amazed every time I hear No Malice speak at just how committed he is to the Lord. I pray that he is able to keep sharing his story and God uses it to change lives.
Pusha is one of the best MC's ever. While I don't always agree with his message, I respect his skill and hustle. He makes rapping look easy
ff

Yea, I'm glad he answered it the way he did.
Personally I disagree with him but I do think it's refreshing to see him specifically consider his words. He didn't let the reporter put him in a box. He at least isn't being hypocritical in saying that drugs made him what he is.

He should've asked Bill if he felt the same way about the Kennedy family. Jfk's father was a bootlegger (liquor was that era's crack) and that's how the family rose to power. No one ever talks about that though...wonder why. Lol.
I agree totally! I personally took that remark he made as diss and didn't like it but Pusha put him right in his place quickly.
This is better than any reality show.
I love em both. Everybody has their process and it's dope to see they are still brothers at the end of the day.
Man this is one of the realist interviews ive ever watched
Clipse are the last of the realest Virginia Stand Up, No Malice has truly transcended and hes not lookin back no matter what, that brotha is makin a change and is passin on the message as god intended we must break this cycle in hiphop
Very good story. Finally just a story with no prejudice or some forced liberal agenda. That is real life. Thank you
Agreed!

Gene (No Malice) has matured so much. Good to see him not dealing his soul anymore. God bless him and his family.
Amazing story. Pusha T is an amazing artist. Lyrically inclined and talks dope as smooth as a king pin. No Malice chose a different lane which I'm not particularly into, but I can respect. Da Kid Gowie FACTS 💯
That’s exactly his point.
Thanks for covering this. Great job Bill!

What a great piece by CNN. Crazy how 2 men that are so close can have such polarizing points of view
I don't understand why they can't co-exist in a ying & yang type of way on another Clipse album. It would be creative and neat to hear Pusha's drug raps on 1 verse, and No Malice matching it with something that constrasts on the next verse.
you are in luck
Good interview. No Malice is just spitting tha truth.
been a Clipse fan for like 15 years... Proud of Gene's transformation. Hope Pusha follows suit.
Malice went after the true riches and the world remains blind to the fact that money being a higher priority than GOD is fools gold. Christ reigns over all.

I know why Malice got flustered at the point the interviewer sounded like he was interrogating him
Hahahaha facts... Look what's happening these days with the new rappers and vlad lol... You can tell these guys are real ogs
Chamillionaire did an album in 2007 with no cursing, even the word "shit" was removed and no one is not calling it gospel or anything.

He actually raps about that lady not feeding her kids on the song ‘I’m not you’ which is a classic
Pusha shying from his roots Malice owned it

Was nice to see this as a big Clipse fan, informative and shows the disparity between the two pretty well
great piece bill , i like how in no way did you try to portray your own opinion in the matter you just let them tell their story. excellent job !

These mfs ain't honest! Mfs walking around with kids they don't think of or take care of..!!! Making more absent baby mommas/ baby daddies.!
Walking in $1000 pair of shoes but ain't got no car, cuz they can't afford the most expensive one, so they'd rather not drive period, because of the thought a stranger MIGHT create, of them NOT being some "baller" terrifies them, wild!... It's fr crazy...!!!
Mfs be such frauds it's ridiculous.!!!
Dam near unbelievable, it would be if I haven't met or known so many people just like that..
Sad. Sad. Sad. Sad.
Wish more folks could just be real, honest, and most of all comfortable with who they are...
No reason for these beautiful, young, smart, intelligent, people to be so fake. To actually put in work/ effort to paint a different picture of themselves, FOR OTHERS!!! To be so dishonest with even themselves is brutal..!!! As sad as it is, it's ok for real ones like us real ones to sit back and chuckle at them from time to time.
Like,????
Why anyone thinks it's cool, to grow up and live how we HAD to, will ALWAYS be just a mystery to us.!!!
Priorities alllll messed up!!!
Starting at 12:18 is the REAL message to the whole interview... then, skip to 13:18 - 14:14, EPIC! "That money at one time was out for my life." Then, he seals it with, "I have enough blood on my hands."
I pray this brother is taking this much needed message to the masses in this dark industry...
4:19 "and that's how I know that I ain't shit"
that's one of my fav clipse verses ever.
To late for that, mfs really be afraid to admit they're from the suburbs. We're doomed!!! check 80% of black America. They all Wana bee gangsters, Wana bee thugs etc..
We all know money, drugs, sex, violence sells. But to walk around on the daily like you're "about that life", when you're NOT, at all, is corny AF...
Adults still playing make believe.!!
Blk America is so insecure, self conscious and confused it ain't even funny..!
Apparently it's cool to be from the ghetto or projects or hood, but how many people you heard bragging about how THEY qualified for EBT cards / food stamps or section 8 ????
Exactly.!!!
Priorities alllll messed up!!!

Love it. Respect to both! You have to let a man follow his truth.
Kudos to Malice for walking away from rap music and becoming a Christian.
Loved this. No Malice said a lot of real shit.
Pusha T is a good guy man. As far as the industry, he should follow his brother's path honestly. Both are still great to this day. Congrats to Push for having the title of president of G.O.O.D. Music. Also, congrats to No Malice for his turnover to God.
Well this was “dope”! Nice lil documentary. Getting on that path too but it’s been hard, still have some malice in me...😔I’ll get there tho...😏
I hope No Malice stays true to his word. I know MA$E use to say the same things, lol. Great story
WOW...dope piece CNN. Respect.
This was a great piece. Y'all gotta do one on Little Brother out of North Carolina.
thats it bro! just goes to show you how deep God can rock somebody, pun intended... classic story of Solomon and the vanity of pleasure outside of true freedom
Being on cnn....I still bump push. Anderson paak pusha t brothers keeper brought me here.
I respect No Malice!!! 3rd eye open and conscious! #PreachMyBrother
Is it possible to agree with two contradictions ? Because I understand where they both come from. I respect their approach and opinions. I would love a Clipse reunion but I respect "No Malice" decision. Life must go on.
On a side note. Hip Hop illuminati huh? Truth hidden in plain sight of you ask me.
interviewed by jonny drama from entourage
I love No Malice man.
Amazing sorry thanks for covering it
"Hip Hop illuminate" WTF loool
This video is about to be in the spotlight again considering Drake’s disses toward Pusha T.
Great piece!
“Speak the truth “ coming from a cnn reporter is very ironic lol
God is Good!!
very proud of No Malice
just hope he doesn't pull a Ma$e
It 2024 and they back at it
The Game is to be Sold to... not Told to. But respect Terror and Malice... I want a new Clipse album so bad... I always rated Clipse from i heard they used to hustle with they Grandma (HNIC)
Great stuff!
Dope! Eventho He Sounded like He was Putting a Case Together... #MCsOnnCNNisCool lol #Salute
been wondering what happened to Clipse.... now I know.
I thought No Malice was just trying to take advantage of a christian rap genre but after seeing this brotha is for real I will defintely keep a look out on this.
EVERY THING HAS A COST!... JUST KNOW!... IS THERE A PRICE FOR YOUR LIFE BEING LOST?
Great and interesting story.
good story .... two brothers that are diff
This is some deep shit right here man..
Romans 12:17-21 Bless Up Gene. God Bless him and his whole family. John 3:16 🕊💨🍃
Someone send this intro to Pusha t
what are those nikes at 10:12 on the far right ?
13:14 This is how you should react when they try to tempt you with all the wealth in the world.
Check out No Malice on his track 'Bury That'. he addresses how he relates to his brother now plus its a dope song watch?v=RanNgjTeSs0
malice is wise
that was great
No Malice understands & knows what the Industry is like. . . Ddnt really like the Interviewer like tht kept saying Crack & Cocaine was to me was very unprofessional💯💯🍻
I wonder what CNN is trying to get done by running this story. It's not a love story for black people and certainly not for the church are christianity.
No Malice is awesome
