- If you have an exterior door that leaks air OR an interior door that rattles when closed, this video shows you how to fix it in under 60 seconds! All you need are two screwdrivers. Of course, this may not fix every door, but give it a try and let me know how it goes.

I had no idea that a strike plate can be adjusted like that. Thank you for showing us a simple fix that we may not be aware of.
First time I've ever seen you and I am impressed. Been working for a construction company 44 years and my late fiance was a contractor. Now I can see all the things he and his brothers did making a living. They were good at it too! You are very impressive.
Had each issue on my rear door on the house and your advise worked. Thank you, and now an interior door has a better seal too. thanks so much
Glad it helped!
This helped a lot! We had a steady draft coming in on windy nights and this took care of most of the issue. Much appreciated!
Glad it helped you out. :)
Worked like charm, thanks so much!
Bending the tab on the latch. Never thought of it. Great tip! Worked perfectly no more gap.
Glad it helped!
OMG I can’t believe it was that easy!! I’ve been asking everybody and they didn’t know what to do
I'm happy for you. :)
Good video! I'll get after this tomorrow or late tonight.
Thank you. Simple and straightforward.
I do my best. Thank you for watching!
This was really helpful ❤❤❤ thank you
You are most welcome!

Was stumped by my strike plate. (Has no hole or slot.) I was actually shopping for a new one! However...
I just found a site that says you can adjust it too - remove it from door, and bend the tab off-door. Put it back on. _Viola._
(I feel a bit silly, but you may want to mention this in future videos.) Thanks for the video!
PS - This is great for sealing out wildfire smoke. I was miserable in my home until I closed up every crack/gap with rags, and even wadded facial tissue. I could breathe again!
Another great vid thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
This looks exactly like my issue, I'll be trying both of these as soon as I'm off work!
Let me know how it goes.
@@TrainingHandsAcademy it went well, except apparently I don't have an adjustable threshold. Looks like I'll be looking into new weather stripping/door bottoms. Thanks for the useful video!
Very helpful and easy. Any tips on a door that is hard to close? My front door is so messed up you have to push on it to lock the bolt. I assume its either warped or installed wrong, any easy tips or a new video on how to resolve this one, thanks.
That issue is normally much more involved. Try looking to see what's holding it up... could just be the weather stripping. You can send me a video on IG.
What about if the top right doesn’t push in all the way to line up in the frame? Because of this, I’m feeling air down that side even though it is locked in (though it does move when pushing on it). I worry insects can get in too.
That's a bigger problem. The door is either warped or it needs reinstalled. Sorry, I wish it was an easy fix.
@@TrainingHandsAcademy thank you, that’s what I’m thinking. It’s an apartment patio door, and maintenance says there is nothing wrong with it, unfortunately 😤
I have this same issue on the bottom right side of my front door. You can feel the air blowing in.it closes and latches, but you have to push on the bottom right for the air to stop coming in lower side 😡 Been a year already so no help from Home Depot. I wish I couldn't tighten somewhere to fix it!
what about the top and sides??
If you still have gaps after this fix, then the door most likely needs heavier adjusting/replacement or new weather striping.
Wow. That. Was. Easy. Wtf.
Great tip on the door leaking air. Tried it and it fixed the leak. Many thanks!
Glad it helped!
