  • EcoTraining presents a Higher Certificate: Ecotourism Field Guide Course (NQF Level 5). Today, we join EcoTraining Instructors Richard Davis and David Havemann, who explain the course and what to expect.
The Higher Certificate: Ecotourism Field Guide Course is the highest qualification in nature guiding (NQF level 5), and EcoTraining is the only organization to offer this course in Africa. We look at guiding ethics and safety, astronomy, geology, ecotourism, and all the aspects that make the hospitality and tourism industry what it is today or what it should be from a guiding point of view when we are out here in the wilderness.
It is for people who want to see and understand nature at a high level as we go into much detail. EcoTraining’s course on nature guiding is an excellent way to understand guiding principles, theory, and practice.
Please sit back, relax, and let us show you what it is all about.

Why do we supposed to walk in a single line during walking in the bush

I suppose it’s safety reasons. If you don’t walk in a single file you risk that some one could wonder a bit of and this could lead to dangerous situations like walking right into a thicket were a lion or leopard could be hiding.
Also I can imagine it for making sure they do as little impact to the environment they are visiting.
I am just guessing here, but I’m pretty sure that’s why

It is one of the golden rules in the guiding world 😊
It makes it easier to control your group and ensure walking as silently as possible
