      @@buckwhitetail1876 yeah I agree with ya there. He's definitely in the hobbyist category so that machine is certainly overkill for his operation. But man is it aweome!

    Mike I'm no professional fire wool person. But been cutting my own for fifty years. When I had the farm we would go through 10/13 cords a season. I built my spliter for 3pt hitch two stage hyd. pump run off the PTO. I have seen over the years alot of firewood machines/ processor.
    Personally the REX is in my opinion probably the best machine I've ever seen.

    That saying has really been relevant in my life. The best I found, restaurants, mechanics, campgrounds, parks, barbers, you name it, always goes away. I'm sure you'll miss the Rex, but you still have one of the best setups I've seen w the Wolfridge. 70 cords of wood is a bunch, especially if you're doing other stuff, like you do. We have all enjoyed the visit of Rex, but you told us the first day it was a loaner. So farewell Rex, on to the next project!! Whatever it is, it will be good. There's always good stuff on this channel. So thank you, Mike, for sharing!👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸

      @petergrant9259 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I can see if Mike couldn't afford the REX 600X ... to complain that it actually can make so many cords in so little time is strange logic. But you can't get into someones head. It allows time to do other tasks or time with the family. His father in law almost got killed using the other splitter, that in itself is the best reason to keep the REX

    • @njonebale7889

    Thanks for the review of the REX Mike! I just ordered one of their vertical wood splitters (Super Axe 3150...also available from Carta Equipment). My farm is about 2 hours away from the manufacturer - Whitlands Engineering. It's really nice to see a small family owned engineering company from way over here in rural Australia making it big on your channel.
    As you say, our eucalyptus trees (I mainly have big old Yellow Box trees on my farm) are a lot harder than your USA species, so our splitters need to be tough as well. Yellow Box have a habit of dropping pretty large limbs now and then (which regrow) and that's where I get most of my firewood from.

    I said from the beginning that that thing was a beast and you’ll miss it when it’s gone. Hopefully you sold it for them. Mathew Cremona uses carbide tip blades on his mill and can saw through just about anything no problem. His logs comes from tree service and has lots of metal in them. Just wanted to point that out.

    Just wanted to shoot you a line, telling you how much I enjoy watching your show Had my own landscaping excavating business 25 years I loved every day of it. Had dump trucks, back hose, bulldozer, tractor loader, and I loved every minute of operating them, which is why watching you brings back. Great memories would still be doing it, if I wasn’t 72 years old and wore out. As the old saying goes, if you can do something you love every day it’s no work at all.

    I’m so glad you got a chance to show us and use this splitter, but I’m still trying to figure out how to afford buying your Kabota excavator, skid steer LX4020 and the other tractor let alone your $1,500 stihl chainsaw and 0-turn mower and Dewalt tools from Amazon, who’s not an authorized dealer (meaning NO WARRANTY). Then if I want to pull any of it I’ll have to buy a $80,000-90,000 dollar truck times 2! Ohhhhh I forgot to mention the saw mill, the outdoor building, the 40 by 60 building with kitchen, office etc. then there’s the the dump truck, the new dump truck. Heck I can’t even find the tools on your website like chainsaws and lawnmowers you’re currently using and I’m sure the more emails you acquire benefits you financially,right? That email list has got to be worth some mulla$$! Simply safe, haven’t been able to afford that either. You bring a whole new meaning to “ keeping up with the Jones’s “. Down here in Missouri we still use the term Carpetbagger, prob of Jose Whales but you’re unscrupulous means of gains for yourself is starting to feel unobtainable to your value as a TH-camr.

    Mike, You may want to consider offering a small discount to not stacking your firewood and loading the split wood directly to your trailer and delivering it to customers who will stack and dry it themselves. I bet you a number of customers will take you up on the offer this spring. Win win.

  • @kdegraa
    @kdegraa 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    If you consider the labour savings this splitter provides, it would pay for itself in a short period of time for a professional firewood producer. It is also a much safer machine than a standard log splitter.
    Though I’m Australian I’ve never seen a Rex before seeing it here. I understand why it has been made so strong, Australian eucalyptus timber is very dense, can be really knotty and hard to split. I’m planning to purchase the Rex’s tiny brother, the SuperX. They are more expensive than the generic Chinese log splitters but those splitters usually do not last long splitting Australian hardwood.

    I will never understand the imperative to criticize others. I have watched many things I perhaps disagree with but I inherently understand there are many ways to do something and that one man’s truth in another’s falsehood. The right way to do anything is the way you feel good about and if you learn something new there remains the freedom to choose. I just enjoy watching the process and your perspectives.

    You should buy the Rex for sure. You can run it all by yourself with much less effort. As you get older it is going to get much harder to cut and split firewood. All you need for the other splitter to be efficient is a coveyer table to feed you rounds. I'll be then it would be as fast if not faster than the rex.2 guys is always much fast. One guy can be bucking rounds and loading while the other is just splitting. Also stacking always can use multiple people. Shoutout to LEVI!!!!! Nice job buddy!!!!

      He can’t keep it. It’s not made in the USA, you know what I’m saying. NOT ALL GOOD THINGS ARE MADE IN AMERICA.

    I really like the Rex600x, it is a hoss. 1 man show for 200 + cords per year is quite a lot of firewood. You did Carta Equipment good, you showed their machine, honest evaluation of the performance, and a few videos explaining how it performs. I do not know why, but i love watching firewood production, and home owned saw mill, lumber production. Reminds me of splitting firewood for my dad over 45 years ago, by hand. Many probably have no idea how much a cord of wood really is. Especially split by hand. Great Machine, i would guess quite a few will purchase just watching your demonstrations. ty Mike tell Hunt man Hey for us :)

    Am I the only one who hears Terry Jacks singing?

    Mike, still you have the Rexcavator II! I will miss the Rex 600 but I agree with the decision to invest in the kiln.

    Mike, I think you should buy that machine. It is a money maker, let's face it, money really does grow on Tree's for you.
