  • Namaste!
In this video, let us dive into the enchanting world of Disney's classic films to celebrate the FIRST female voices that are heard in them from 15 different countries across the globe. From Snow White to Moana and beyond, the video showcases the firsts of all incredible female singing talents that graced Disney soundtracks in various languages.

In this video, I intended to showcase how the textures of voices as well as the musicalities of singers chosen for Disney films have evolved over time, and also how they differed from country to country as well.

Hooollup! THAT was the actual song played over the Indian Bambi? Was that the fabled Hindustani dubbing?

The dubbing isn't 'fabled' anymore haha! There is a clip of it (Bambi learning to walk) that's available with an entirely Indian Classical-based score recreated for this dubbing, so yes, the dubbing is real XD
Coming to these songs; they are composed by Husnlal-Bhagatram, who are clearly credited for working on Disney's Bambi in an old Indian songbook. The soundtrack itself reads "Bambi (original motion picture soundtrack)" from 1947, so I have good faith they played in the movie as well, though I would not be surprised if parts of them were cut (or the movie itself was re-edited for these songs; since they have a greater length than the respective English song in many cases). The lyrics also reference the original film's situations as well.

Wasn't there a Georgian dub of Enchanted before Encanto? Though only LQ recordings of it were available on youtube.

That Georgian dubbing was most likely not monitored by Disney Character Voices International, and it was hence, an unofficial dubbing made by a local television channel or something. I included only Disney's official dubs in this video.

As per charguigou's dubbing blog, Hercules was the earliest Disney film dubbed in Russian, so I went with that. Thanks for watching!

Cute concept for a video! Indian clip is so odd, barely sounds like the song. Doesn't that Norwegian sound a bit more like Danish here? Or maybe just the tone of the voice is more typically Danish. lmao every Canadian French female disney from the 1990s sounds just like Lina Boudreau tbh. Croatian started off HOT. Moana Maori

The Indian clip is from the 1947 Hindustani language dubbing of Bambi in which Walt Disney suggested that the score and songs of the movie be completely changed for the Indian audience, hence the songs in this dub are completely different from the original film, but they are still in context of what happens in the film itself.
      Thanks for watching!!!
