I am a new subscriber from Michigan, I have been watching tutorials all morning about journal making, paper making card making, using several different mediums to see what I come up with, I am fastened about using napkins and have my materials ready to use to make along with you.
I loved this!! I am no longer a scrapper. But my mom was a master seamstress and what she made with her hands way back when because I'm 64 was magnificent we were scrapping before it was popular. This was just beautiful. I don't know why it came up on my TH-cam because I am an orchid grower and that's why I watch TH-cam that and chihuahuas but your video came out and I loved it thank you. Libby the old lady from Florida. 👉👵👈
I did this a hundred years ago, but with M.D. And on baskets. Then went to wooden magazines holders. Loved all and looked pretty good. After watching your excellent video I can't wait to start ironing after all these years of just ironing paper when I made. I enjoyed this so much and can't wait to see what clever goodie you come up with next. Thank you so much...
Thank you for doing this video. I'm new to crafting. Unfortunately, I've been very, very sick and bed ridden and watching crafting videos brings me joy. Please keep posting videos, i love seeing your creativity. God bless you my love. Rebecca Wagner.
🦋 I have used this same technique, probably 34 yrs ago, when my two oldest daughters were small. Then, using the same technique, I made a couple of little “Rudolf” appliqués, and made the girls some Christmas aprons, for holiday baking & crafting. Your cards were nicely done!🦋
This is so helpful to me. Here in Greece it is very difficult to get supplies because of the shipping and now the government has put taxes on all parcels that come from the US and other countries which are not in the European Union. Thank you so much for this great tutorial. You are so helpful and so clear on how to do it. Thanks again. I am so lucky to have found your channel.
Great technique! I save the bottom, white layers from the napkins to use as collage material. Either just plain, to add extra texture, or stamp on them with permanent ink and then use like you would patterned tissue paper or decoupage paper.
OMG Abby WOW What a Fantastic video......I've never seen this technique before and have to say you left me in awe when I saw what you had done. Love it so much and as a die hard scrapper this would be so fun to do to create scrapbook paper for a layout ... I am definitely awestruck...and seeing the results well it is fabulous and amazing!! Thanks so much sharing and doing you awesome tutorial....what you created using the paper you made sure are beautiful items....I'm still in total awe!! What a fun video. Thanks again for sharing your terrific tips, tricks & technique!! YOU so ROCK!! Joan Smith
Super video. I have used and taught this technique since the mid 90’s - before Utube! I also use dry cleaner bags and cheap sandwich bags as well as plastic wrap. Thanks so much for your video!
I just stumbled across this tutorial... and I’m hooked!! I have a load of REALLY old paper napkins that were amongst my late Nan’s belongings... I couldn’t bring myself to use them as the memories were too precious. Some of the napkins must be over 40 years old as I remember them from my childhood!! I’ve decided to use this technique to turn them into artwork. Some are SO delicate now, that I’m scared that they’ll just fall apart, so this will stabilise them. Great video! And you have a new subscriber!
I am a male and just watched this video. Wow, really cool. I can appreciate things I would never do or even know what to do with them if I did make them. Loved watching your process. Great video.
So thankful to have a way to do the project without glues. My two little dogs have tracheal problems and am limited on crafting projects. As I live in a small apartment I imagine you would share a chuckle with me on my first phase of learning and how excited I get having only recently dived into TH-cam.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I tried it tonight and it worked! I used the baking parchment paper and glad wrap - both from the dollar store. I'll be using this more often. Big smile!!!
Well hell, I had no idea that might work, I’m shook! lol Not only are those beautiful pieces that you made, you are absolutely brilliant to share this economical ‘beauty from napkins’ with us. Thank you, dear. 🎨Annie
One of the first people if not the very first to do napkin de coupage and napkin transfer was “patio elf “on you tube, she is still doing new things with them! This was a good tutorial too, I have subbed x
ran across this video and glad I did, I have some napkins that I want to use on booklet covers, some of my friends and family give me napkins too! I will make a booklet for my cousin, who had us over for Thanksgiving this past fall, and make the napkin (she gave me 4) part of a gift for her this next Thanksgiving ! thanks again...
I had never seen this before and I have been in the craft industry since 1989 working for a major manufacturer. I had heard napkin tutorials and assumed it was the type where you spray adhesive on the back of the napkin and then dust with glitter inside. This is amazing. I will be doing some of these. Paper wishes also has paper with linen texture in 8x8 pads of several different color families. I love the texture, but hate the price, so I shop around and found that. Thanks again.
Subbed from Houston sept 2020. Awesome. I love working with napkins. I have cover many clothes pins an given as gifts as chip clips. My friends/family say they think of me every time they see in drawer or use them. Made magnet ones also but this is fabulous. I hv tons of napkins left over so gonna try this. I gotta check dollar tree. I’ve never seen these beauties here. I usually went to Tuesday Morning.
Another little helpful hint is, once you have done cutting the edges, go back over the napkins and parchment with the iron just to make sure all the edges are sealed down. For anyone interested I used glad cling wrap, but I will be heading to the dollar store to try out a cheaper brand. I also put my iron on the linen setting.
I've never seen this before and ALWAYS have difficulties finding the perfect paper. I love that you say it has a nice texture feel, because that would make it seem really expensive. Thankyou for sharing and I love the projects you made at the end! xxx
Just discovered you...lucky me. I adore napkin transfers and I love your technique. Thank you much for this tutorial. I have subscribed...looking forward to more.
SHADOW LIVING Hi Shadow ☺ I didn't know until you left this comment. Ever since I've been making sure I say "ladies & gents" ☺ Thank you for letting me know and for watching my video. Have a great week!
Hey and some of us aren’t “ladies”... you should see me after a couple of Chardonnay’s hehe! But in all seriousness, I am so thankful too for these wonderful people who post these informative TH-cam clips! Kindest Regards xx
Glad to see this, but we can't all be gender sensitive, really. You are in the lower percentile. My roommate recently had me iron his wedding attire (for daughter's wedding)...he had no idea how to use one. :)
Hi Abby I love this thank you. I did this process some years ago and had forgotten all about it !!! Thanks so much for the incentive to get going again. Super.
I've never seen this technique before. I have a lot of beautiful napkins I bought to decoupage. It's nice to have a different way to use them. I can't wait to try this.
Love this, l have bought so many different napkins from Amazon , l live in England so we don 't have many places here to buy them, but Amazon have so many beautiful designs, l make a lot of cards with working clocks so with these napkins they will be so unique and different than patterned card stock, thank you very much for sharing , can't wait to get started.
I really enjoyed the tutorial. Instructions were very clear. Can't wait until I get back to Georgia (home) and try this technique. Thanks. Have a great day.
What a great idea! I can never resist buying lovely napkins/serviettes because their designs are so appealing. However they are useless for their intended purpose, being printed. Thank you for passing on Allison’s technique...so well : ) : )
This is August of 2018 and I just thought to look up this technique yesterday and there you were and I am anxious to try this. I really liked your "finished" projects---THANKS!
I just love the style of napkins you bought , their just lovely and your Idea with the decorative box was wonderful .. Thank you so much for posting your crats I will be watching more .
I wish my Dollar Tree carried some of those napkins... sob!! Small town living! But your ideas are awesome and so incredible very easy to follow and helpful. Thankful for people like you.
Wow! Love this, you just made my brain go into overdrive and solve a problem ! I have been trying to figure out a way to make a napkin sturdier to use for a decoupage project that didn’t want to take a chance on the glue By the way I am a born and raised Oregonian living in Arkansas!
Wow! I am amazed how to watch this tutorial, this has given me more inspiration to transform beautiful designed napkins into pretty cards and on boxes. No more looking for the perfect card when I can make my own yayay😂😂😂

I love this technique. The one time I used it was about three years ago and then I forgot about it. I think it is time I tried it again. Your creations are beautiful and I have all of those napkins except for the Flamingos. Thanks for a great video and the reminder.
