Cool!! I’m going there tomorrow, what did you think of the airline?

Hi JUN10R3DITZ, many thanks for watching.
We have flown Air Malta four times and British Airways twice for our previous six visits to Malta, difficult to compare the two as they're two very different airlines. However since we last flew with Air Malta there have been some noticeable changes - some newer aircraft (Airbus A320 NEOs, less than 5 years old) plus no complimentary meals, but this is in keeping with many airlines nowadays - most things are now chargeable extras! Delays departing Gatwick were not the airline's fault, more ground staff shortages at the airport. Other than that, I can't remember us ever having any real issues with Air Malta.
Hope you have an amazing time and, if it's your first time, you come to love the islands as much as we do (just look past some of the apparent grubbiness in built up areas and backstreets and focus on the beauty and history in every other part of the islands)

    What’s their baggage policy like?

Thanks for watching. Our tickets were on Air Malta's Go Smart fare which includes 1 x 23kg piece of hold luggage per ticket + 1 piece of hand luggage upto 10kg. I believe you're also allowed to bring another small item of hand luggage, eg handbag or laptop bag, into the cabin. I do not think they guarantee being able to take a 10kg piece of hand luggage into the cabin and they may ask you to check it into the hold - without charge, I understand.

@@Elle_Attitude thank you!! I’m flying to Gatwick via another airline and then Air Malta to Luqa. We have checked baggage so just nervous about the baggage transfer, I was told we will have to pick up our luggage and recheck it with Air Malta. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly!

@@Elle_Attitude heyyy, I am travelling to Malta this week and just needed to confirm something. Do you reckon 22 inch suitcase will be fine? The dimensions on their site is confusing. Thanks!!

@Julina Shrestha: from what I can make out from their website the dimensions relate to cabin suitcases to be carried on as hand luggage. I believe they do not guarantee such cases being able to be brought into the cabin, ie on a full flight there may not be enough space in the overhead lockers - in which case they'll allow you to check it into the hold for no extra cost. I think a single piece of hand luggage that fits under the seat in front such as a small back pack, handbag or laptop bag is permitted on board. A 22inch suitcase may just about fall within their permitted hand luggage dimensions. Hope all goes well and you have a good flight. Safe travels!
