@@wcfan623 well, i got mine done. it was because of ASUS battery health charing mode. they have 3 option, one of them was on by me mistakenly. So if you have a asus laptop go fro this.
My new laptop's battery would slowly deplete while plugged in and as the percentage charge went down it would say "not charging." I could unplug it for a few seconds and plug it back in and it would charge back up to 100%, but then start slowly depleting again and the charger would not come on unless I unplugged it and plugged it back in again. I followed this video procedure and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make a video of this fix! You resolved an issue that has had me baffled for months. Poor laptop relegated to dusty corner is now working great. Thanks again!!
Worked for me on a Toshiba Satellite C75D laptop. Haven't tried the discharge/recharge 3X trick yet, but it is reporting 100% charge, a big jump from the 4% it was reporting just 5 minutes ago. Thanks, Nick, U da Man!!
The issue is with the upgrade of windows 10 ACPI and AC drivers, why you ask? there are many manufacturers of laptop/notebooks affected by it, from HP to ASUS and Lenovo, all having the same issue, with new equipment like mine, a 10 Month old ASUS, the amount of inquiries in all of the NET is overwhelming, so if we all have the same problem, and is only happening recently, then the common denominator is MICROSOFT windows 10 (maybe 8.1 as well) drivers. so why not asked Microsoft for a fix? if you have more that 10% charge you can use this work around, if you are at 0% you are done. manufactures should be looking at this possibility, unless they are all using the same manufacturer of batteries and many batteries are going "bad" , then look at Microsoft and make them find a solution, or your cost or returning equipment to have the battery replaced will be high. unless Microsoft is paying the cost. I noticed that you can NOT roll back the drivers, the option is grayed out in Windows 10, try and you'll see.
So how long do you think it'll be before they actualy fix it? I've been having this issue for weeks now, and this does fix it for me temporarily, but I have to do it at least twice a day cause other wise it won't charge. Can you think of a long term solution that doesn't involve waiting for Microsoft to do something about it?
hector gull Thank You, my PT2001 10 all in one did this after Windows 10 update from Windows 8, spent forever on phone with tech from Asus, nothing fixed it as battery is non removable. They quoted 445.00 dollars for fix. Your explanation makes perfect sense.
You need a new battery, I got the same problem from plugging the cord in the wall and then unplugging it rite away, dont remember why i did that but it messed up my battery. It said 92% charged, fully charged in 6 min. And my brother has the same hp15 laptop, put the battery in his computer and it says 92%, not charging. Bad battery!
Then I think you need a new battery. Non-removeable battery laptops have less luck to follow steps to make it work. My windows 10 was not charging, then next day it still said not charging then all of a suddden the battery said plugged in charging. Maybe the battery had to cool down to charge again.. and it's working now.
i won't be responsible but that happened to my brothers laptop and it was the charger so we bought another one and it fixed. If you have another laptop that the charger will fit check if it works on it.If it does not, it is the charger you need to fix.If it does work,it is you laptop.

This guy is awesome! I was like I KNOW I took care of my laptop very well. I had to wait for my new laptop charger to come in after 3 weeks but thankfully this works. It now says that my laptop will be fully charged in an hour and 9 minutes. I'm also on hibernation mode. I'll follow the last steps to ensure that my battery is good
Thanks pal, worked for me. For others: My battery was non-removable so tried to skip the battery removal steps, but that didn't work for me. Once I opened up my hp omen and followed all the steps including removing that battery, it started charging again. Might be worth trying to take the battery out yourself or getting someone more knolegabe if your worried. There are loads of tutorials for many devices out there. (ifixit is my go-to)
For the ones who ain't getting it, step 12 is only possible if steps 1 to 11 managed to fix it. After step 11 your laptop should be charging normally, if it doesn't that it didn't work. It didn't work on mine either. Step 12 is a normal process to ensure the charging is fully fixed not essential in actually fixing the thing.
Thank you so much for this video, my lenovo have been in deep problem with charging after recent windows 10 update, i thought it was the battery but no, then i thought it was the charger, but no also. almost bought a new battery and a new charger. then i found your video, tried it and...voila...all back to normal. battery now charging normal and operates as it should be. Thanks a gazillion
Thanks.. worked fast and simple for an issue I was ready to go buy a new cord and battery over.. love finding the proper solution before throwing money at it.
Thank you, you are a lifesaver. I don't know why it does this. So scary, especially when you are relying on the battery power while you are trying to sort out this problem. Unbelievable.
I suggest taking a look at some other possibilities: Some examples would be: 1) A bad/old laptop battery needs replacing (unfortunately they don't last forever) the batteries life has come to an end. 2) A physical shorted out AC plug port on laptop or bad laptop AC wall charger or shorted out charging cable. 3) A third party battery management software/app running on your laptop is not working correctly. 4) And in some cases, even a bad AC wall outlet could be the culprit.
The solution in my case was 1. Delete all drivers from Battery folder in Device Manager 2. scan for hardware changes 3. My laptop reloaded and the battery charging started. Asus ROG gl552vw
I know exactly what you mean. Sure do miss Win 7. Microsoft today doesn't accomplish anything but to create one mess after another with every "making things better" so-called update.
Like ya ikr im trying to do a vedeo with gachavere the app wont even come on my phone because it keeps saying i dont have it but when i try to install it it say it is aroudy.
Windows 10 is great but the main flaws come from installing it, I just installed it and my laptop wont even turn on because my charger doesn't charge it, I think I should buy a new charger because it wasn't charging anyways
The battery packs in these laptops contain a component which counts how many charge and discharge cycles the battery has done. Once you reach the maximum number of cycles the component will prevent the battery from being charged even if the battery still functions properly.
Nick this was a great fix. The first recharge of my battery after following the steps took a long time, but after the 3rd time it was just like new. Thanks man!!!
nickscomputerfix I’m an online professor and author and I can’t live without my computer and rely on the battery life of my computer quite a bit. Thanks for all you do!
if u using asus ROG i found this on user manual ,According to the user manual of the G75VW series (lower screen capture) this phenomenon is normal. On newer models, when the battery charge reaches 100%, it waits to be below 95% before charging again, even if it is connected to the AC adapter. This may not happen on older notebook models and will maintain 100% battery charge while plugged in.
Mine has been in 0% for a month with no notification of charging not charging. And suddenly today I took off the plug and plugged in again. The same problem started. Does this method really work?
hi bro, complety discharge 3 times mean i remove charger cable and use laptop till finish 0% and charge it till 100% and use down to 0% and continue those step 2 more time ? plz clear me , thanks so much

This guy is awesome! I was like I KNOW I took care of my laptop very well. I had to wait for my new laptop charger to come in after 3 weeks but thankfully this works. It now says that my laptop will be fully charged in an hour and 9 minutes. I'm also on hibernation mode. I'll follow the last steps to ensure that my battery is good
If i uninstall those drivers, will it be able to reinstall automatically? Sorry for being paranoid, i just dont want to mess my laptop too much
Calvin Yes, it's fine.
Yes it will automatically reinstall after rebooting
Dude, followed the simple steps and it worked. Immediately subscribed.
👍
worked very nicely✌🖒🖒
Thanks for this, followed your 12 steps and my laptop is now charging once more. Top stuff, and thanks again ;)
You're welcome. 👌😎

(ifixit is my go-to)
It wont let me turn it on without the battery 😭
You have yp plug the charger and turn it on
@@jadlabbb4291 I fixed the issue. The issue was the port. I replaced it.
What shall I do in step 12 could you explain
thank I was worried that my laptop broke
Thank you so much for this video, my lenovo have been in deep problem with charging after recent windows 10 update, i thought it was the battery but no, then i thought it was the charger, but no also. almost bought a new battery and a new charger. then i found your video, tried it and...voila...all back to normal. battery now charging normal and operates as it should be. Thanks a gazillion
👍
Thank You!!!! That fix worked :)
Andrew Mills what kind of laptop do you have?
kaleab teka Windows 10 to have a detachable battery.
Really ?!
I did shut down, remove the plug, remove the battery, connect the battery, uninstall devices, restart and now my battery charges fine, works!
Thanks for coming back and sharing your feedback. It's appreciated.
My laptop's battery icon keeps saying its charging and then it blinks off to say its not charging. It happens mostly when I watch videos like TH-cam.
me too!!!!
Thanks.. worked fast and simple for an issue I was ready to go buy a new cord and battery over.. love finding the proper solution before throwing money at it.
Thanks for posting your successfulness by following my suggested battery calibration steps.
bottom line is hp laptops are shit
Olddirtytiger only coz you can't afford one
Emily Bradley no I have one that's why i was watching the video , my old Dell was better
they are bad btw
not a very good brand. could do better with samsung or dell
agreed, my HP is more powerful than most other laptops i have used, but i get software issues left and right
Thank you, you are a lifesaver. I don't know why it does this. So scary, especially when you are relying on the battery power while you are trying to sort out this problem. Unbelievable.
Thanks but what happens when it doesn't work ◉_◉
time to get a new batteryy or charger?
throw it out
It’s not the charger or battery as this happens after update.
Thanks much! My battery was not charging. I followed the same steps and it worked :) You saved me lot of effort and money
Thanks for coming back and sharing your success.
So It happened again after the update. This updates screw so bad
IT WORKED FOR ME, MY ALIENWARE M14X R2 IS UP AND RUNNING AGAIN, THANK YOU
GMAN i got the same exact laptop, same exact problem lol. Im trying this rn.
its not working for me 😔
@@Practual YOU PROBABLY NEED A NEW POWER CABLE, OR A NEW BATTERY
IT COULD BE EITHER ONE THAT'S CAUSING THE PROBLEM
So, I need to ask you: What do I do if this KEEPS happening? This is the third time I've had to do this.
I suggest taking a look at some other possibilities: Some examples would be: 1) A bad/old laptop battery needs replacing (unfortunately they don't
last forever) the batteries life has come to an end. 2) A physical shorted out AC plug port on laptop or bad laptop AC wall charger or shorted out
charging cable. 3) A third party battery management software/app running on your laptop is not working correctly. 4) And in some cases, even a bad
AC wall outlet could be the culprit.
Thanks Nick. Batteries are charging now.
it's been 5 hours since i plugged in and it say 18% available (plugged in,charging) and it keeps staying like that
please help☹☹
So what happened
The solution in my case was 1. Delete all drivers from Battery folder in Device Manager 2. scan for hardware changes 3. My laptop reloaded and the battery charging started. Asus ROG gl552vw
thank you so much
Oh my gosh! Thank you! Guys this isn't paid or anything. I had this problem and it worked LEGIT! Verified working 06/08/2017. Thank you!
man Win10 sucks, no issue whatsoever with my old WIn7 laptop
I know exactly what you mean. Sure do miss Win 7. Microsoft today doesn't accomplish anything but to create one mess after another with every "making things better" so-called update.
Microsoft recommends everyone using win10 and why are you using win7 laptop?
i sure do miss win7 too but...i'm enjoying using win10
Like ya ikr im trying to do a vedeo with gachavere the app wont even come on my phone because it keeps saying i dont have it but when i try to install it it say it is aroudy.
Windows 10 is great but the main flaws come from installing it, I just installed it and my laptop wont even turn on because my charger doesn't charge it, I think I should buy a new charger because it wasn't charging anyways
Step 1 - 5 really works! my laptop is Asus X441U non-removable batterty. Thank you!!
Ty ty ty 😍🤗❤
Thanks for coming back and leaving feedback. It's appreciated.👍😎
I Searched Everywhere But Everyone Say, To Change Battery. But You Fixed My Problem Thank You So Much.
Glad I could help!
Yeah. You Helped Me Thanks You So Much Again. But My Battery Don't Hold Charge For Longer Can You Fix It Please.
The battery packs in these laptops contain a component which counts how many charge and discharge cycles the battery has done. Once you reach the maximum number of cycles the component will prevent the battery from being charged even if the battery still functions properly.
What do
It’s really works! My battery had been plugging but not charging for months ! Until I tried your steps ! Thanks so much!!
Professor Nick, You saved the day. The steps taken worked like a charm. Thank you for putting this up on the University of TH-cam.
👌😎
Nick this was a great fix. The first recharge of my battery after following the steps took a long time, but after the 3rd time it was just like new. Thanks man!!!
Thanks for coming back and leaving your kind feedback. It's appreciated.

I’m an online professor and author and I can’t live without my computer and rely on the battery life of my computer quite a bit.

This worked perfectly with my HP Envy with non-removable battery. Thank you so much!
If you wanted this to never happened again never run app with battery below 20% except your charger are plugged in
Thank you. Uninstalling the battery setup works for me.
Tysm it worked, i was worried that i may had buy a new battrey
Edit:after laptop went black it stopped
Thanks Nick! My Lenovo Yoga doesn't have a removable battery so I just followed the other steps and it worked great!
Mine has been in 0% for a month with no notification of charging not charging. And suddenly today I took off the plug and plugged in again. The same problem started. Does this method really work?
hi bro, complety discharge 3 times mean i remove charger cable and use laptop till finish 0% and charge it till 100% and use down to 0% and continue those step 2 more time ? plz clear me , thanks so much
Omg it worked.I had this problem over 3 months and now it’s fixed, thank you!!You just earned a new subscriber and you deserve a like!!
Thanks for subscribing to my TH-cam channel nickscomputerfix. Glad my video helped you out. Your feedback is appreciated.
Thanks from the future Nick, now is 2022 and i need to go back to the past just to find this solution.
Thx a lot u saved me from 4 decades of confusion and regret :)
Thanx man , your tricks really work. hardly take 15 min to fix that problem..
i was freaking out because my laptop started doing this during midterms/the week before my thesis is due so seriously thank you so much for this, it saved me so much time, stress, and money
