      "Maybe", however I would like to see some tests made in these conditions, when possibly it's possible to see the difference between a cheap car and a premium one.
      Even the radar for ACC can be affected by rain and fog, depending on type, they are not all the same. Even when I was designing microwaves radio equipments and links fog and rain where the real life demanding test conditions.

      Actually I have some experience with this myself. I drove home at night when it was raining reaaly hard and there was a strong side wind. Also I was very tired because it was 3 AM. There were no light poles at this part of the freeway so combined with the rain made it really hard to see.. I used the autopilot function and it kept me in a straight line on the road. Without this I wouldn't made it home. Everytime when the rain got too hard I turned the cruise control back from 130km/h to 120km/h. Beside the heavy rain it kept me perfect between the lines of the road. It is truelly remarkable how the Mercedes systems work. I also have some examples from driving backwards and not seeing a car comming from another street in my blind spot where the car automatically braked. I have no experience with other cars that claim to have such functions but I know for sure that the ones of Mercedes are top of the line and truelly masterpieces. They are always a head of times with there tech, they had the selfdriving car systems already back in 2012-2013 but couldn't bring it on the marked because of legal issues here in Europe. Cheers!

      Aa Gg the Kia Telluride uses the blind spot monitoring system to prevent someone from opening their door in front of a cyclist. If it detects a cyclist, it locks the door automatically. Genius.
      Edit: it only prevents the rear door from opening if the child safety lock is engaged. But it does provide an audible and visual warning.

      @@akndogdu2727 that's not true. Because there are situations in the highway code where you shouldn't apply the emergency break. Like for example if a cat runs out. Ofcourse even in this situation the behind driver should leave an adequate breaking distance but that's not how the road works and we all know that. This will just cause too many crashes that could have been avoided regardless of who is at fault. And if this feature malfunctions and applies itself while you are turning then that's a dangerous situation.

    The current blind spot systems on Merceded benz models do not detect me when i am on my motorcycle 100% of the time when i am at Highway speed. I can see when the little lights go on (since i have high visability on the bike)

      - steering link arm needs to be changed

    • @gavinponeyiy8703
      @gavinponeyiy8703 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Electester it does it like that because the emergency brakes are only supposed to activate in emergency situations. If it braked earlier, than it would react to a bunch of things that aren’t really in the way and end up causing more accidents. That being said, if you are a good driver, then you wouldn’t need the emergency brakes most of the time anyways. It’s only for emergency’s. that’s why it brakes so late.
