That is controversial. That punt from the red car at the end wasn't anything like the bump given by the white car at first. First time clearly the red sideways car was slow AF and blocking traffic, while when it hit the white escort near the end, it clearly did it to send the competitor into the shadow realm.
Entertaining to watch on track but should never have been allowed to drive on normal roads with red mist moments like Schanche suffered from,I wonder how many motorists have been bullied by his obvious problem, his Wikipedia profile makes interesting reading being the son of a WW2 fighter pilot and maybe explains his do or die attitude
The '90s was, at best, the penultimate decade of real rallycross and motorsport in general. There were no paid-off sellouts with forced smiles pushing homogenous blobs of batteries on wheels with unhappy-claptrappy propaganda that preambles longer than the race. The race is electrified by edict, while the whining pontification of Progressive programming is louder than the equalised motors. When men decide how to compete, and which method and machinery works best and wins fastest, it will be electrifying. When men can be told to worship what does not work, there will be no reason left in men, and no races left to win.
More entertaining 4 minutes than the entire F1 season

Great assessment. I agree.

When he was jousting for first, you could see the third place had nowhere near the same throttle response.
This sums up Schanche, all or nothing no matter the outcome which was his appeal to many Legend👌🏻
He didnt have a team, he made his cars all by himself. He developed his own 4wheel drive and his own transmission.

Best 'road rage' Schanche ever did was when he entered politics and slapped an opponent politician that mouthed off to him..
