I've been using this video for 3 months now, following a herniated disc between L4/L5 , and would recommend it. I had an MRI scan eventually and NHS physio advice (also eventually as getting that was very slow!) and can say these exercises fit-in perfectly with the NHS advice. Thankfully I don't need surgery but it's a long recovery for my injury and the presenting style is great, calm and reassuring, thank you 👍👏
I agree with you. I'm also a registered physio and have found myself with back pain I couldn't shift. Feel really well balanced and stretched after this workout. What would you suggest as the next level workout after this on

I've commented positively on this one before, I think, but it got pushed out of my routine in favor of some other my Katja faves (I've got a pretty good collection at this point), but I recently bought myself a kayak and have developed some low back ache from hoisting it up on my car. Seriously, this routine has my back feeling almost normal immediately after. It probably would behoove me to keep doing it pretty regularly as a preventive and not just when I get myself I to trouble. Thanks, Katja! You are a treasure.

I am doing this 3 x a day after being immobile in bed for a week with the most painful lower back injuries I've experienced. Until I tried your Pilates classes I have never really understood what Pilates is about. I tried it every now and then but almost always I would find myself in a yoga class instead, thinking it's a superior form of workout. However, I finally understood the difference. In yoga you move with the breath, which seems so natural and really helps to connect mind and body. In Pilates the movement seems to happen on an exhale and almost always from abdominals which makes me really aware of the alignment of my body. I have tilted pelvis which at times can cause a lot of pain in the lower back, however these classes finally helped me feel and understand what's happening in my lower back and abdominals and how to control/balance it throughout the day. Still a long way to go for me. Thank you for such wonderful classes.

I'm doing this routine every morning now, to get rid of the back aches that build up during the night. My lower back feels more mobile and stable, and the aches are much lower after these exercises. As a bonus, I also feel more connected and calm. It's therapeutic.

I loved doing this workout but can no longer get on my knees due to neuropathy in my foot (c*v!d). It would be wonderful if you would do a short Pilates video (7 minutes would be golden) that had all the stretches that don’t require being on your knees. I hope you consider it. You are our favorite Pilates instructor!

Thank you Katja for a slow and gentle exercise that focuses on the lower back. I have a lot of ongoing neck and back problems with TMJ, and during this period of lockdown my pain has been pretty tough as I have been unable to access the Pain Clinic, Pilates classes, and the chiropractic massage specialist who was working wonders with me! She recommended I do Pilates every other day to help with my pain, but the channel I was recommended was far too advanced and intense and left me in more pain-especially as it was too fast and so I couldn’t correct my position. I am a “shoulder huncher”, and your regular reminders to drop my shoulders were really useful. Sorry for the long comment, but if there are any other workouts you can recommend I’d be really grateful. I have extreme muscle tightness in my neck, shoulders and back, which is now causing all my upper arms to be incredibly tight and painful too! My husband is massaging them each night to help relieve the tension. Can you advise anything I can do to ease this? I am also trying to study for my Masters degree during this time, and desk study obviously aggravates my condition further, but I am determined to achieve my MA. I will definitely continue trying your workouts to help self-manage my pain. Thank you so much.

Pilates & Yoga with Katja Thank you Katja! Yes I have small spiky balls and was thinking of trying them on my upper arms. That’s where the pain is the worst at the moment! It’s an effort just to hold my arms above my laptop to study! This is a new thing I’ve had since a major flare-up with my neck and back in Jan, which hasn’t happened before. That was a very effective 30 minute routine - my back was very sore the other day which is why I decided on this routine and the following day it felt so much better. Just back for my second go! Thank you Katja!

This session has become my 'go to' routine when my back is feeling a little tight and sore - it helps stretch and strengthen the lower back and has helped me no end over the past few months - I now feel my back is becoming much stronger and my back issues are more manageable. Thank you Katja

That was a very effective 30 minute routine - my back was very sore the other day which is why I decided on this routine and the following day it felt so much better. Just back for my second go! Thank you Katja!

I don't wanna get ahead of myself BUT I did this class yesterday and my back pain was do much better today. So I'll keep doing this class daily to see if I can get rid 100% of the pain.
