I have owned and worn this watch for years. The bezel insert has some marks on it as a result. With an 8 1/4 inch wrist, it’s a little small. Nice watch.
Interesting fact: These were issued to UK MOD divers for a while and were assigned NSN 0883-99-852-5953. They were eventually replaced by the BN0150 and BN0190's.
@@maverickwatchreviews Your watch is a May 2015, which would have been one of the last runs before they discontinued them. You should sell it to me. ;)
The Royal Marines used to be issued these for a while in between the cwc sbs issue! The problem was being an eco drive? They were always flat battery from stores, so the cwc watch made more sense, although more costly I had one and citizen used to charge a fortune for a service as the crystal has to come out ,possibly why this construction is not used much?
Just sold mine recently but it was a fantastic watch when I owned it. Took it to the water many times and never had a problem. I put it on a shark mesh bracelet and it was a great combo. Only complaint I had was that the date window is pretty small and sometimes hard to read. But other than that, a solid watch.
I own one and also put it on a polished shark mesh bracelet taking the watch to another level in appearance. I think the brushed case and polished bracelet make for a balanced contrast. I really enjoy wearing this great timepiece and surely is a keeper for me.
I had issues with mine, it went back three times to Citizen because the crown stripped, but they changed the case the third time even sent the original case back ... I can't fault Citizen service as very rapid return. Since new case screw in crown perfect and no issues seems slightly longer thread on stem.. Not keen on the strap and now wear it on a Eulit Perlon really works on it. Yes future classic and a keeper for sure...
I've got this watch bashed to hell after 10 years use and abuse above and below the surface. It still keeps amazing time. Loved the monocoque. Sadly the screw down crown stopped screwing as well as it should. I wish there were parts readily available so I could bring it back to life.
I have two Citizen Eco Drive watches approximately 10 years old. Batteries failed in both watches. The funny thing is I wore those watches maybe. For five years on and off. Rest of the life watches spent in my drawer.
This model had problems with nu 1(crown was to small)2(it suffered from the threads on the crown tube easily stripping if crown was not perfectly engaged.
It certainly did have crown problems.. Mine went back 3 times to Citizen, but it seems fine now, they even sent me back the original case and bezel to me after finally deciding to change the case and crown. The downside is the bezel now doesn't perfectly line up. The crown action though is vastly different now when screwing in far more positive. The Royal Navy issued them, but it wasn't particularly liked, I believe it was a cost cutting exercise and they want to go back to CWC. I do like the design of the case and suppose it appeals to the collector, but the Excalibur is my preferred Citizen watch.
@@jpwphotographicstudio3891 I have the same problems with the crown. How long ago did they repair it? You mentioned the bezel.. my bezel and glass are scratched to hell. I'd like to bring it back to life but not sure if they'd still perform repairs based on it's age.
I keep buying inexpensive divers, but this might be the next ... the more I look at it, the more I like it! I have smaller wrists, and a lot of the divers at smaller sizes just have odd proportions (IMO the SKX013). This one seems like a perfect smaller cousin to the 007. If it was on Amazon or a normal site, I would have bought it right away, shame they stopped making this.
Maverick Watch Reviews I bought another watch quite recently ... but will give this some serious thought and send you a message if so. TY for the reply!
Always loved that watch but when I owned it I felt the bezel font was slightly too large overpowering the dial. I wish I kept it as it definitely brings memories back
Though it may be difficult to find online or in the States, it is still available with some shop keepers in parts of Europe. Unfortunately, Citizen is just not as popular in Central and Eastern Europe.
Owned mine for 8 years now I have it in the Pepsi colour way only thing I'm worried about is the sealed back case not allowing for a battery change should it need one in the future. Can anyone shed light on battery replacement?
Very nice watch. Probably will settle for the Citizen Promaster BN0151-09L myself, not that it isn’t a fantastic watch. Just doesn’t have the sweet case.
A watch never meant to be popular. Would love to see a jubilee for this watch. Still feels okay with a nato at least. A somewhat an uncommon diver for most collections.
Be honest. You would rather *have* the 007 because you can't have the Citizen. And just because you can't have something doesn't mean you can't appreciate it. I'll never have a Ferrari but I sure do like them!
I have decided to sell mine if anyone interested. As Mav says its a little small for my 8 inch wrist so i dont wear it enough. Otherwise as Mav says it is a lovely watch.
****For Sale**** I'll make you a *great* deal on this VERY RARE watch in near MINT condition! Contact me if interested: maverickwatchreviews@gmail.com

Check out Total Watch Repair. They can source parts for this directly from Citizen, and are familiar with working on this watch.
I used to own this watch- I wish I'd kept it.

That’s why the battery died, keep them out in light and they last for years and years.
Ya gotta wear them at least a couple of days a month.
@@calnative4904 OK thanks but I'm completely into mechanical watches right now and I have just one Casio solar power watch ⌚ I use for a gym.

Amazing! What year has been made or the introduction started
Very cool watch! However, you forgot the bezel action.
I did indeed and thought about that after the vid. I can assure you there is NO play AT ALL with this bezel.
@@maverickwatchreviews did you sell it? or still available? what price range?
What's these go for now days if u can find one? Lol I've had mine on afew times and love it
Love my Citizen Skyhawk AT. Looking for more Citizens to add to my collection. This one is stellar!
New subscriber! Loved this video.
Thanks for the kind words brother. And thanks for subscribing!
Have you tried the bracelet from the NY0040 on this yet? Fits almost perfectly. ;)
I actually have that exact bracelet on this watch :)
Now you’re talking, I’m a big fan of Citizen watches much, much more than Seiko.
I'm starting to be too.

You would have to send back to Citizen but the rechargeable battery in this should last at least 20 years.
@@maverickwatchreviews hopefully just ensuring that im thinking into the future !

$250 but I suspect they may go up higher once more people know about this awesome model.
