If I could have any suggestions, have you considered porting the sprite from New SMB to SNES? The Super Mario Land SNES homebrew does that, and I think that would look great with the pre-rendered DKC aesthetic. If not, this is still super cool!
This is looking good... although using Super Mario RPG sprites to match the pre-rendered graphics alone would take this to the next level. (adding various Mario sound effects, changing the bananas to coins, incorporating Luigi etc would be icing on the cake!)
nah, they should've done custom sprites with a recreation of the mario model seen in DKC2 not only would it be accurate in style but also in scale, unlike smrpg

@@Darknight0681 cartridge space is not that relevant in SMW's case you can always make slightly smaller sprites that look better also mario's front facing sprite doesn't use mirroring for whatever reason, so you can already save some space by simply fixing some sprites along the way so the issue with smw is that it was rushed, not technical limitations

Maybe someone should do a Garry’s Mod type game that combines multiple similar SNES games into a single game, complete with a Sandbox mode and a custom level generator, along with a make your own power ups / enemies tool. I bet a lot of people would love that kind of game.

I could not get this to work on any emulator I've tried. I was using retroarch and used every core I saw for SNES, but no matter how many different attempts at patching I've tried, none of my roms are playing on emulation software. Maybe I'm not using the correct Donkey Kong Country rom, but I've tried to find the suggested ones from the RomHacking website and what I believe to be them, based on searching sites, still isn't patching well enough to work. Am I doing something wrong possibly or does this only work on a specific emulator?

The music quality varies so much. Some like the bonus rooms sound garbage. Probably something not made for the SNES to handle
