I will say for future marine RP ops, most UH-1’s will never be alone. They will always be accompanied by AH-1’s for the exact reason we saw in the video. Love the work though, great to see
Yep the Marines hold UH-1s and AH-1s in the same squadrons, and both aircraft have a large amount of interchangeable parts.
Also if you really want to go for realism, hueys will always have side gunners, and use them heavily in offensive operations. Also hueys don't use forward facing mini guns, only rockets.
Of course. It's all about adapting to the wants of the players and the player counts in the end.

We’re primarily changing assets from op to op based on player counts. More for balance > realism

I didn't even realise that you could use thermals in the utility helicopter like that so the pilot can have targets spotted for him that's so cool I'll have to try it out.

Hey Drewski, I've been following your content for a long time, and I just wanted to give you a tip about the engine damage.
If the ENG status is showing red, this mean it is heavily damaged, and there is only a few percent remaining before it died if you get hit again.
*However !* To see if your engine is still running and still providing power or not, the engine status ( the one showing if it is on or off under the *ATRQ* ) will stay on if you're engine is still running, and will turn off automatically if it doesn't provide any power at all !

I don't usually mind inaccuracies in video games. Things like an AAV that actually floats, a dude storming a beach with a stinger, and someone firing an m240 unsupported are a non-issue because video games can be fun and don't have to be perfectly realistic. That all being said, the Marines in the back of the AAV with beards sent me into a fit of rage I can't rationally explain.

Playing with y'all would be a dream for me. I love playing sims but I don't have anyone to play with and I'd rather do so with people who would at least play for more than 20 minutes and take it somewhat - 100% serious.
Edit: I am an ATC for the Army and I was previously a 19K. A Tanker. so if y'all ever think you'll need someone for ATC or a Tanker then I'm all for it.

I appreciate that you were able to pull back, chat with someone about the hydra's (Which honestly is frustrating having used them myself. I mean if you've got unguided, at least throw SOMETHING where they'll hit yeah?) and get something that is not only more usable for the sake of the op, but also more fun. Rock on Drewski!
I love how a British machine (wildcat) comes galloping to the rescue ....... I'll dive for cover now.
One of the coolest thing about milsim (especially arma) is seeing how certain long standing tactics and strategies used IRL could become obsolete in modern combat scenarios, as well as how new tech can change the battlefield entirely.

That wildcat is the UK helicopter - basically a modern lynx one of the fastest combat helis ever

The trick to using the UH-1Y Venom gunship is to NOT use the flip out HUD. I absolutely love that heli.

But the Royal Navy uses the wildcat anyway. The Lynx was replaced with it.

Ngl they dominated as far as strategy and communication goes but the overall execution and individual performances in combat as far as techniques and tactical engagements go could have been far improved. Overall though another great video hope you all had fun! Keep up the great content man! Also, very impressive aircraft handling !

Wildcat is British. Also, Id use Blue smoke for LZ's. Red is usually to mark enemy.
The optics were fine theres 2 sets of crosshairs and the one thats offset is superimposed onto the target so you just need to line them up and it wouldve been accurate. Just ignore the Arma2 HUD thing thats just part of the model
