Arma 3 is such a unique game in my eyes. some of the shots from the guys on the ground as the little bird strafes and circles round. What other game actually has that realistic flight and combat model . It just looks insane.
And it even released back in 2016!

Check out the Project Reality mod for BF2 or it's spiritual successor squad. They are really the only pub style PVP games where I've had that experience. Squad is finally getting helos too. Will always remember calling in CAS to wreck some insurgents and allow us to move. The beauty of ArmA though is freedom you have in terms of content. Allowing you to tailor the scenario exactly to your taste.

We did, the goal of the chopper was to cover the convoy from other angles that we can't see from the ground.

Armas tacicle nature and freedom gives space for awsome moments that you might find in a singleplayer cod campaine. Eg a little bird flying over head while you storm a hill.

Joint missions like these, with air and ground video, _are the coolest!_ Or just getting more perspectives in general is really cool. Wish there was a way to record movement too, so you could pinpoint key moments and get God's perspective on it too, but I guess currently the best solution is a server observer user, but then you need another client, and possibly another machine just for that.

It's not as famous as CoD, sure, but Arma 3 isn't undiscovered anymore than the MilSim gaming community is undiscovered though.

Trying to get back into Arma and was a little bummed that III in vanilla has such futuristic assets.
What mods are you using to being in real world vehicles?
2035 ain’t that far off bro, US right now in 2021 are experimenting with 6.8mm ammo, in Arma they have 6.5mm weapons, my problem is the downgrade NATO had. O/A/MH-6s are replaced by the A/MH-9 which is a bit of a downgrade on my opinion as it follows a more minimalistic design, other assets are pretty the same. We do get the Comache though

Drew, I have been having problems with the AI being to OP, do you run any mods on your servers for AI balance?
I believe Ares or Hermes or one of the Zeus addons allows you to set a AI skill level and you can do Global or just one team or one area etc.
you dont need any AI mods anymore - just adjust their difficulty. (intelligence 70-100, aim 20-40)
