I like the customised tin can and the fact that you have to screw the exhaust back on first..ha ha, all good fun. She starts and runs very well, Listers just keep going don't they? :-))
Not convinced its doing 900rpm in this video.. ive listened to mine and this certainly sounds and looks like its running quicker. Fit a Lister deep type exhaust, they sound sooo much better then the shallow type.
You're scaring me with the clearance to ground of that flywheel! Fantastic engine, runs as good as any lister you could find. Need to find something for it to do like i do my dads.
That can was there to protoect the shaft from rain lol! Yh it is fun paul...I think any old briths engine just keep on going. Oil is the key for them all! How is your Petter?
What damage, I know all of the princeples and workings of an ngine more then you think. I am a tip top restorer! The only dame you can have is a leaky valve by carbon. That will be easly solved by reving the engine up...
@@enginelover1 Using the decompressor while the engine is running. I actually skipped the very end of the video - hadn't realised you'd let it run again - but still bad form !
@@millomweb I know its bad form but. U once I had solved a big nock on LD1 buy using the decompressor while running. Because after an overhaul its still kept knoking badly. And i was upset. Then it came good after do so. Cheers mate.
Get a techometer on that crank shaft. If thats doing 900rpm in this video ill eat my shoe! lol Sounds like it doing about 1500rpm in the video
how cold was it? -1 here at 12:21pm here in the UK.. was about -5 in the night lol Runs nicely. What RPM is that 1500rpm?
Dan
1500 rpm, that was easy to answer.......
Cold or not, once that engine starts it runs beautifully! Very nice.
Nothing wrong with the way that starts and runs, very nice engine.
shes doing 900 mate listen to other 1500 rpm lister lr1 generator sets

Thanks
I don't think this engine could handle a 10kva but your 2VSO should do nicely. That should be enough power to run a house.

At least there's no tinware rubbing against the flywheel !

This is 1.75 @ 900RPM. 7 I think. But emember, malta is an island and it does feel colder with the sea around us!
Thanks
Not started it in ages now, but ok thanks :-)
When it hit , you will now by hearing the engone on load! Yes I wish to do a genset to power hour house! Maybe a 10KV genset for my 2VSO?
I Don`t have a lister deep exhaust. What I am going to do? Post me one yourself :)

Yes, but is more cold it started a bit better! Thansk for watching
Not wise dropping the decompressor while it's running unless you wanna damage the valve
LOL suppose you want me to send ya a Wico magneto eh? :P
Another person who doesn't know the correct procedure for stopping these engines :(
Please tell me what I did wrong in the end of the video to shuting it down?
