His Far Cry 3 runs are pretty gnarly too. Remember one time he managed to somehow attach a spring razor to a dude's severed head then shot it through the air to & completely eviscerated a group of goons. Some rly epic stuff. Rabbit's Respawn had some pretty cool stuff, too, iirc.
I'm just now playing the definitive edition of the 1st Dishonored . And I am blown away at the movement and control in a game designed 12 years ago. I'm trying to be stealthy but I keep getting. Spotted and other than the darts I am out of I am unaware of a way to take aware enemies out non lay'thally.
Glad I found this video, I actually just finished a clean hands ghost run (didn't kill anyone and was never seen) today, so this is honestly quite refreshing
I did the low chaos - stealth run through with Emily so I could pick up the Ghost and Clean Hands achievements and it definitely was challenging. Lots and lots of saves, inching forward through each section, and constantly checking the stats (mission *and* playthrough) to ensure that spotted by enemies count and total kills were still both 0. It would have made my life so much easier if I'd known that killing dogs or clockwork soldiers do not count, I'd just assumed that since they counted as "enemies" for the purpose of being spotted (and invalidating the Ghost achievement), they also counted as enemies for the purpose of kills. Especially with the dogs, trying to tiptoe around them when I was out of sleep darts was very tricky, when all I needed to do was let loose a quick crossbow bolt to the head. I only discovered this somewhere around Mission 7-8 but better late than never. As for the Clockwork Soldiers - freaky. I managed *once*, yes just once, to get close to one and rewire it, because it was stationary, other than that I was able to plant a stun mine on a few occasions to take them out. Again, if I'd known that they don't count for kills, I could have used other tactics such as the springrazor or perhaps a well placed bolt. The stun mine does stun them, but subsequently causes them to fall apart anyway, so if they *did* count as kills it would mean that a stun would result in a kill, which in hindsight would have been silly. Playing through again with Corvo this time. Going for high chaos which provides a lot more flexibility to collect loot for other achievements, and bonecharms, but on the downside I'm doing it with no powers as there's another achievement for this. Time will tell if I do a high-chaos + powers run through, maybe just to sweep up any achievements I've missed, or just have a bit of fun.
Was thinking recently that a Dishonored show with Corvo as the main character would go hard with Pedro Pascal as Corvo? He's already in everything so might as well
To think, that AvP 2010 became forbidden to sell in Germany, because of it's "brutal finishers" to that time, and the Dishonored Games with their own kind of "Brutal Finishers" and Attacks not... xD
Dishonored 2 was such a great game. Given how good it was and the story of the last DLC, I can’t blame them for having a hard time making a follow-up of this game.
Dishonored 2 makes more sense if you play the Witches of Brigmor for Dishonored 1 where Corvo fights the witches while trying to prevent Emily Kaldwin from being influenced by his dark deeds becoming a killer future dictator, which served as a question for ethics and morality it helps give Corvo and Emily character development. Also if you play the Dunwall Knife DLC about Daud (the killer of the Empress from the first game) it gives more perspective on events of the first game that you normally don't see, which made me spare Daud.
I still never finished the first one. I think I'm about the last 1-2 chapters. but man that last few chapters on hard are fucking insane. especially thsoe humans that zig zag all over the place.
I stopped playing this because I would go thru the entire level and kill all the guys so I could search for secrets lmao but the moral system makes me like oh I don't want to be a bad guy
Always found it odd why the game punishes you for killing a bunch of merciless scheming guards that do everything they can to mess with innocent civilians and make their lives harder for no good reason. Most of them do horrible things according to the heart, only a few feel "guilt" for their actions or are relatively normal people doing their job I guess, those I spare, but most of them are just terrible and pretty much don't deserve mercy imo. Only people I spare pretty much always is the Abbey people because The Void *is* witchcraft and they are decent to people (unless I missed a piece of lore where they are actually evil as well). I read somewhere that it isn't about being good or bad but rather the game adapting to your choices but c'mon. You do get the bad ending for playing High Chaos and NPC's change for the worse and overall the game is trying to kind of direct you into the other direction imo.
It honestly is the reason I didn't finish the first game. The whole point of an Immersive Sim is to play how you want. The DLC where the karma was dropped was infinitely better
