    Couldn't get a job back to oxfordshire from Bristol yesterday so tried to see how economical I could get back. Managed 72.3 mpg on a sw base citeron dispatch. Followed a lorry all the way up the m4 doing around 56 mph. Sun was shining music on. Very chilled.

    This latest on the cards recession, I can see being tough for everyone. Shippers looking for the cheapest A to B, with the larger pallet companies having resources to get work, driving the smaller "One Man and his Van" virtually out. The same thing happened in farming, with a lot of small family farms being driven out by massive supermarket owned farms and no longer using livestock farms for produce. Also new Tacho laws possibly coming in. 2025, with any load over weight of 2.5 Tonnes requiring a Tacho. VOSA could have a field day with vans.

      ``2.5 Tonnes requiring a Tacho``
      Could be a nice little earner if it happens . The rates will become inflated as people give up leaving the few that remain to have a bit of a party with prices .
      If i was still in the game ( i left 12 months ago for many reasons , now a class 1 adr ) id be asking around the £2+ for a luton with a mini of 75 quid out the door . No idea on the smaller stuff prices though .

    My SWB 52mpg at worst, 55mpg on a motorway. Gets 2 pallets in, most of my work is small van but its nice having the extra room and still cheap to run. Get to charge a bit more on the SWB jobs too.
    Also very quick to load/unload so never waiting around too long.

    SWB looks more like a hobby or a local (wo)man and van thingy. Not a 1600 pounds a year CX gig. And definetly, the weekend belongs to the family, not to the road. But with this country, getting poorer by the day, maybe we will loose the weekend for ever. Hopefully not.
    Hope you had a nice weekend w the family :)

    Good video mate, I very rarely work at the weekend. All my kit goes in the front. Averaging 56mph in my Berlingo over the last 15,000 miles. You can carry a standard pallet in these vans.

      Same here - I have passenger seats down and stack everything up there. I have nothing of mine in the back. It can be a bit of a squeeze at times! (And it's a PITA when I need something specific and have to unstack things to find it - also when I need the passenger seat - e.g. when I had an escort on an army base.)

      It’s similar to putting a gorilla on a skateboard Dave…. I’m guessing 56mpg average, is the figure on the dashboard Saintsman….? The XL version is a much better van all round.

    Thanks. A very informative video! I have a large Luton that we use for 'EEZYMOVER' removals work, but a small van as my daily runabout but was wondering what kind of consistent work I could get with it. Thanks for giving me a realistic idea.

    Totally agree with the Saturday rate pal, seems people are working for less at evenings and weekends than they are during the day 😱

    Where's the Noddy car? I was hoping you was going to do a video on that.
    My experience with my small Berlingo van is keep minimum stuff in back and it tests you on how to stack and place things in the back and be imaginative where you put the stuff in front but I've been really surprised how much stuff and weight I've carried in mine, like 80 trays of courgettes.
    I seem to do alright and make a healthy profit per week.
    I hope your Van is back on the road very soon Dave 🤞.
    Another great video 👍.

    Can anybody tell me Is this worth doing 2 days a week in a van or is the app,insurance and fuel too expensive?

    • @anvillogistics477
      @anvillogistics477  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn’t I don’t think for two days a week. If you are using the CX then the subscription is currently £2000 pa. Add to that ins, fuel and purchase of the vehicle it becomes quite a payout and I’m not sure if you’ll recoup that in 2 days

    Seems like the smaller van is not big enough for you ego

  • @sprinterdriver4757

    So siemans to siemans.
    Don't take much to find out who, then competition watch this and go into siemans and undercut current courier. That new courier then puts it on cx. Other CX members know what you are quoting so know what to charge and get the work from you. A company has already told you they can't use you because of one of your videos are there many that have blocked you. Seems like business acumen needs to be a priority instead of virtual friends and TH-cam likes.

    • @anvillogistics477
      @anvillogistics477  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have your opinion, I could of course block you like you do but I don’t as I feel everyone is entitled to theirs.
      Why watch?
      Competition is out there and other shippers will always try to undercut each other. I’m not a shipper and have no real desire or need to be one. The companies that have chosen to block me are probably not companies I’ll really miss.
      Yes I make mistakes and I admit to them and tell people so they may not. I’m luckier than most in that I don’t need a massive income but I do enjoy my job and take pleasure in it.
      You don’t it seems, I hope you are well and prosper in your business

      Move along you sad little knob. We don’t want or need your negativity or ridiculous comments. Go and play on the motorway and leave normal people to our own lives. A totally clueless idiot!
