If you had following me on twitter this week and the previous week, I was giving many good information about the Game Gold/Silver SpaceWorld Demo Japan 1999. This version of the game is what gamefreak had originally plan before releasing the final version. Many difference had been found especially with Falkner having a Pidgeot on his team, Whitney having only Miltank that doesn't know rollout and most surprising of all: Red! - Trainer Red Sprite is actually Gold Overworld Sprite. - His Battle Theme is Actually the Johto Trainer Battle theme (Mt.Silver is actually on Johto) - Red's team is the same but only difference is that his level are nearly between 63/70. - Once Red is defeated, he dissapear but there is no ending, you can continue playing. - After defeating the League... He reappear! I was playing while having fun despite the fact that it's in Japanese. It took a while but now I can return working on my videos. Enjoy this one!
@Mixeli Red doesn’t reappear after defeating the league? I thought he did... When I played through Gold on my GameBoy Advanced SP after defeating the league again he reappeared. I played about a half a year ago and I could be mistaken but does he not reappear?

It's so intriguing to see the differences between the Japanese and English versions... Especially when Snorlax takes damage from curse at 3:01 That grim reaper sprite looks so cool!
This is the beta jp version, that was never officially released. It leaked this last month! So that's why it's different. Final JP and ENG versions are the same
They should have kept it in the final versions, lol. Maybe just polishing it a bit, nonetheless it looks way more like a curse thing than that ghost sprite which doesn't really fit in the concept of a curse
I'm glad they leveledup Red's pokemons significantly. It was a hard challenge but felt so accomplished after grinding my team to high levels and defeating Red.
So awesome seeing this beta Gen 2 footage. I’ve spent countless hours playing Silver version as a child and now as an adult. Remember how hard this was as a kid!
It's really sad that the theory I read on the internet some time ago that Red was planned to have Mewtwo which was later changed to Espeon is not true:-( unless it was the case in even an earlier version...
As far as the levels go it's surprising. It makes it a lot more feasible to fight Red head on first chance you get. I wonder why they changed the levels afterward...
He definitely got buffed a lot in the final. I'm not really surprised it was a last minute decision, since his level jump is pretty gigantic from Blue in the Final, with effectively no game left.
@Richard Rios Rodriguez Which is weird, Espeon added more coverage to his team, he didn't need another water type (I know it's probably to have something from Ash's team though).
I mean, Red/the player did receive Lapras as a thank you gift for saving Silph Co. after the Team Rocket attack, and considering how at that time Lapras were dangerously close to becoming extinct, I think that Red wanted to really take care for Lapras and make sure it was in good hands. Plus, he didn't have any other water type he could travel the seas on, lol. Edit: whoops, just remembered that Red gets all the Kanto starters.
@@corazonfeathers8116 I get that, it's just that it weakens his team compared to Espeon. It brings a third electric weakness and reduces his offensive coverage. Also, having Espeon makes Red's team less stale and shows he has progressed since Gen 1/3 by having a Pokémon that was unavailable in these games, while clearly being the Eevee he got from Celadon Mansion.
Seems like they didn't programmed the credits sequence to play when defeating Red, and the fight it's more of an "optional boss" than a real "final boss"
Did the level scaling always was accurate in gen 2 to begin with ? Lol Mt. Silver is the highest level area in the game, and Poké's are like at best 47, but by the time you get there your team is AT LEAST 65+. So level scaling never smoked crack, to rephrase you. Haha

In the final one all they did was Colorise Reds RBY Sprite, but overall Gold and Reds Overworld Sprite Are Almost the exact same besides the Hat sides.
No, no, he still comes back in the final build if you return after beating the league Or at least in Crystal and the remkes, not totally sure if vanilla GS did this
I did played the original G/S versions (I think it was about 2008 when I did, the gameboy color and gameboy games can be downloaded in nokias at the time so I played red before them) Whenever I do beat Red, it just goes back to my final save point (before battling Red)
Both have aspects that make them better than the other in certain ways and vice versa imo however, I think we can both agree that the espeon sprite n the video is absolutely *_HIDEOUS._*
I love Vaporeon as my favorite because, Water type, but Umbreon? Total unit, absolutely wonderful Pokemon to have. Espeon? Fantastic Special Attack and Speed, I'd use both

No, in the final version the game restarts and you can go straight to him as many times as you like without going thru the PKMN League

No they are in the final version pikachu is 81 the Kanto starters are level 77 the snorlax is level 75 and espeon is level 73

I think he means after Red disappears in the 99 Spaceworld build, you can continue walking in the Mt. Silver cave with no credits.
