I have worked in the entertainment business my entire life. I can totally relate to what Nash is saying. Why would he say it if it were not true? I'm sure he has seen this happen on mre than occasion. Note to self..don't take a gig on a Neil young tour unless you have no other options. It's nice to know that Nash actually cares about the people who bust their ass from 8 or 9 AM until 2 in the morning the next day over and over again for months to make your show happen . Way back in the day, I loved CSN and also CSNY. I saw a show they did in San Diego. CSN played a very nice set. Then Neil came out to join them, and the intensity level of the show suddenly went into orbit. Neil certainly could be a pain is the butt, but he had 10 times the charisma of the other guys put together.

Don't know that Mr. Young cares what people think of him. I chimed in because glancing at the commits I think that someone should tap into the love. Which from what I know of these 2 men both are about. So, Neil, thank you for how your music make me feel. And if total love is not what others perceive within their dealings with you, may they realize that all are fallible. For those who are not against us are with us.

Stills has no "Mr. Soul" "On the Way Home" "Expecting To Fly" "Pocohantas" "Powderfinger" "Sugar Mountain" "Like A Hurricane" "Human Highway" "Cortez the Killer" "Old Man" "Harvest" or a dozen others I could mention in his songbook.

This tendency of Young's is confirmed in Neil's own biography. However the rest of the story is that Neil would suddenly drop out of CSNY tours because of Still"s rampant cocaine abuse (not to mention the ego clashes within the band). And let's not forget, Neil is only an occasional member of CSN, so it's not like him dropping out means they can't still do the tour.

Even when Neil wasn't a rich rock star, he was reputed to be hard to get along with. I think Nash has it right, Neil has a muse, and he goes where it takes him. Trans is a perfect example of Neil Young saying "F*** you, I'll do what I want."

Frankly, I'm not surprised at how Graham Nash portrays Neil Young. From what I have heard, Young is not the friendliest of people towards his fans. Approach him in the street and you're just as likely to be told to 'Fuck Off!' or, at the very least, 'Yeah, I'm Neil Young so leave me alone'. Never an autograph or even a courteous word. Class act, Neil.

Graham your great Stephen is great David is great , However Neil has always been consistently enigmatic .The bands you and the others were pretty good but the best was Buffalo Springfield which disintegrated because Stills and Young could not artistically be together because they clashed on being both wanting to be the leader . Young is in another place from these days ,Dylan name checks him on Highlands and is on record saying that his melodies are up amongst the best ever , Mc Cartny , Thom York ,Eddie Vedder etc etc are people in the music world that all seem to understand that Young is special and not only that in my mind he is like builit that ricoches

If there was ever a group that overstated its importance, it's CSNY. Don't get me wrong, there's some good music there, but, in reality, there's very little. Neil did Deja Vu, and the Ohio single. That's 3 tunes (he's a co-writer on Everybody I Love You). The rest is forgettable. CSN had two other nice records, the first one and the one in about '78 with Shadow Captain and Dark Star. The rest is forgettable.

Just as McCartney's parochial ways pissed off Mr Lennon.
What's the sense of being an artist and a millionaire rockstar, if you can't freely behave like an asshole?

Amen, brother. I haven’t heard him make a solidly decent record since Broken Arrow. CSN’s best music has been with Neil. Neil’s worst music has been with them. Far as I’m concerned, NY lost the plot and is in full artistic decline since David Briggs’ death and virtually everyone else in his inner circle. The ones that could tell him when he’s full of shit. The way he left his wife, I’ve lost virtually all respect for him as a person. Artistically, he’s lost.
