I got a GIRSAN REGARD MC (beretta 92 clone) about a month ago and just shoot it with a buddy of mine who has a CZ Shadow 2 blue. The only thing I did to it was the Beretta D spring swap. Comes with 18 round mag, got another with base plate extension for plus 2 (so 20 rounds). By his own words on how he would rate it Girsan. He said the Shadow 2 would be a 10, and the Girsan with just the D spring swap is a 9.5 on a rating scale. He was impressed with the feel, shootability, and specially the price (only 1/3 to 1/4 the cost of the shadow 2). He is now considering selling the Shadow 2 and getting a Girsan Regard mc Gen4. I love CZs too. Carried a Cajinized P01 for years. The Girsan Brand is worth a try, so rent one if you can and see how you like it.
@@fredwu3723 this is so wrong, maybe a Ferrari vs a Lamborghini. I am 6’2” and with large hands I shoot the Shadow 2 at least 15-20% better than the Tanfo in 4 different matches back to back. Not just talk, but tested in stress situations tried & true. Now if you have smaller hands (like my 5’8” wife) she likes the Tanfo better, I don’t like the Tanfo because it cuts into my fingers and so the fit & finish on the Shadow 2 seems better. Personal preference not Ford vs Ferrari.
My Tanfoglio Defiant Limited Master has very very little take up. Less so than my shadow 2 does and much less than the Stock 2 here. I’ve debated on upgrading the trigger, but I love even the stock one
I’ve just tried both side by side, and with small hands (like 7.5”) the slimmer Tanfoglio frame makes all the difference, to my slight dismay - I was so into the CZ... With a good grip the CZ pointed 20 degrees to the right, but the Tanfo dead straight. So a Tanfo it’ll be - great guns both of them though.
Don’t forget the green, green grass of home! I think I’ll put my pennies into a Shadow 2 in 9, and save for the Stock 2 in 10. That’s crazy, I know. Will have to start reloading to make it work, but why not?
I shoot open with a 2011 so this is irrelevant to me :P But i am looking at getting a Stock 2 for fun... I have had them both in my hand and shot them and the stock 2 just fits my hand much better and looks way better in my opinion. Great review lads :D
I see why your comparing them but the shadow's lack of a firing pin block is the selling point for me. You can make it to have a trigger with almost no takeup.
Fun fact is, that these guns are both basically CZ75. CZ is original, Tanfoglio is italian variant of the same. Tanfoglio copied CZ design long time ago, as CZ 75 had not been patented worldwide, therefore heavily copied.
I have 14 CZs, Shadow 2 being one of them. I have a Tanfoglio as well and a 38 super. I have to say, I like my CZ Shadow 2 more then the others, but not to the point the Tanfoglios are not a good gun. They are all amazing and love shooting them all. Nice video
Kadet kit isn't supported for the Shadow 2 - yet! CZ has released some pictures of rimfire conversions for the Shadow 2 and several others if I remember correctly
I think you should look on the website as your stock II extreme is has all the extreme parts on that gun: bull barrel, the firing pin, the trigger, the sights, the handgrips, has multiple magazines, that come with The aluminum base pads on that stuff adds up to a lot more money
Do you prefer the extended safety on the Shadow 2, to the smaller one that comes on the gun? I just bought a black and blue Shadow 2 yesterday, and I'm not sure if I want to try the extended safety. I had a Shadow 2 a few years ago and I loved it, but I never did try the extended safety. It looks kind of hard to install. Edit: Sorry, I just saw that you answered that question at 1:38
@@agalaboratoriodentario3239 I have both the regular S2 and the S2 Orange, had Cajun installed their 10X bushing and I can honestly admit that the S2 bushing is nice and does the job but it's not truly needed since the 10X bushing does almost the exact same thing at a significantly cheaper price. Lastly, I prefer to shoot my S2 over the Orange and I'm a competitive shooter in USPSA/Carry Optics and Open Division.
Hi thank you very much indeed for the very interesting video. I wonder if the thicker/flared barrel of the Stock 2 Extreme ( 7:09 ) can indeed provide a higher accuracy compared to a more standard barrel or it is just a marketing issue.
@@oscarcruz8304 hi thank you for the very kind and valuable advice I am fascinated by the techniques behind guns I have always wondered which one is the most accurate kind regards gino
So which one is better for large hands? Which has the trigger farther away, especially in single action? I think sideways I can go for thicker grips. I've shot the Shadow 2 once, a few months ago and if I remember correctly, it felt too slim in my hands. I wish there were a 2011 style gun for production...
I once owned the first tanfoglio limited SC. I sold it and bought The CZ spo1 shadow. I modified it myself with the aftermarket parts. It’s like having orgasm while shooting. Tanfo is just for the bling , CZ especially the Shadow 2 is the real deal for me.
We are located in New Zealand. Sorry we do not have CZ custom guns, we can buy parts and fit in ourselves however. Hard to say about the trigger, CZ has much shorter reset, but I do like the trigger pull on the tangfo. Once you get used to them, you will not notice the difference as much.
hey I´m running a Stock 2 large frame from production...... I am RO too and I thought i couldn't change the safeties on my gun....... is it still production legal?!?!?!?!??!!?
A little bit of rust, yes. I did not clean it properly after a few competitions in the rain. Can get rid it them but I have not done it yet. Yes it looks ugly I know.
It depends on how people treat their firearms. I have rusting experience with other brands too, and I knew the cause was mainly due to my laziness to clean it after exposed to wet conditions. Other friends' Tangfolios look great. I would rather not blame the finish for the reason above.
NZ firearm law is well structured and regulated. A pistol license/endorsement is even harder to obtain, most members are well trained. Australia is more strict on magazine capacity and caliber and sporting disciplines you must take to meet pistol license requirements. I would say New Zealand has a good and controlled system for people to enjoy shooting as a sport.
Scorpac shave down the beaver tail , get rid of the ambi safety , use lighter rear sight , get some custom slide work . That's a few things that come to mind .

The shadow 2 has factory springs, trigger pull is quite heavy. I changed the stock2 extreme springs, SA 5lb & DA 9lb. Recoil felt similar, but depending on your grip position. Accuracy is also depending on projectiles, OAL etc.. I personally think stock 2 is easier to sight in due to more adjustable options.
Tanfoglio what is under a licensure agreement with CZ because CZ was taxed highly due to it being a communist country , after they folded and became a capitalist country Tanfoglio did their own thing because they didn’t have to work with CZ any longer and then CZ is able to bring the guns all over the place, At a competitive price. Marcus Jahnke you have to experience yourself to tell the difference. So glad you did that.
the Shadow's rear sight is adjustable for windage by loosening the screws and drifting it . Not as easy as the Tanfo but still adjustable.
The Shadow 2 is dead sexy, had to buy 2 so could keep one a safe queen

CZ trigger spring may needs to be adjusted to suit your shooting. The default factory weight is a little on the heavy side. Enjoy.
New information told me that you CAN share the mags around, a brand of Shaow 2 mags do fit in.
Can confirm. I ordered a few tanfo mags for my shadow 2, and they fit and work perfectly.

Is it possible to change the sights on the Shadow 2? I heard the front fiber optic is a little hard to see after CZ reduced its size from 2mm to 1mm.
You may find some third party sights for Shadow 2. Google it I would suggest.
