    CZs are just unreal. They will go down in history ( are going down in history ) as one of the finest pistols made. Right along with the Hi-power. 75s are an addiction, to me even more that my 1911 fetish. Great mag capacity, low muzzle flip, predictable double action and amazing reliability. Glad to see they are no longer the best kept secret in the pistol world. Plus they have the look of an old school muscle car in a world of “tuner” pistols.

    Hey KS! I agree, the Shadow 2 takes it. There's just something about a metal DA/SA hammer fired pistol. Plus, the additional weight helps keep the muzzle down.
    You're right about the Shadow 2 making you (the user) a better shooter. My CZ75 Omega does that for me even though it's not setup for competition. It's a Plain Jane stock gun wearing Truglo TFX Pro sights. It still makes me look good! 😎 But the Shadow 2 just takes it to a much higher level. Pricey for sure, but as in many other instances.....you get what you pay for. It's on my short list!
    Nice job KS, as always! 👍🏻👍🏻

    Great information here, thanks for the video quality. One side note, with heavy competition-style pistols, a lot of the recoil brunt is absorbed by the weight... when shooting, add a little more bend in your elbows, and they will act like recoil dampeners allowing you to stay on target more easily. This method really makes a difference with a pistol like the CZ, and once mastered, the front post will move up and back down very quickly. 👍🏼

    I thought this was an easy one until I watched the video, I was surprised at all the features of the Sig. I also like the flat faced trigger and the huge capacity as well. At the end of the day, I would still choose the S2. My main reason is the "cheap" feel of the polymer in their new striker-fired lines. I like everything else about them, just not the feel of their polymer. I also like the look of the slide better on the X5 and the bull barrel. It has so much going for it, but hard to beat the classic look, sleek lines and solid feel of a CZ. Another awesome review brother and you chose wisely, IMO! :D Have a great weekend!

    If you're looking around for a BB pistol I would recommend this one th-cam.com/users/postUgkxnX9wE_Q8zvF75Y5iWzTU3Q4FlrtyGApQ . I ordered two BB pistols from Dan Wesson and this one is so much nicer than the other one. It's a well built gun. Can't say that about the other one. I thought the Mag was pretty easy to load. I also just lock the spring back and fill up the hole with 16 BB's with no sweat. Easily remove the rear part of the handle from the bottom with the Mag removed to access the CO2 chamber. Sweet. Very nice painted sights on both ends. Doesn't have blowback but the gun is rated at 410 fps the blowback edition is 365 fps.Didn't really know much about BB guns before but now I see that Umarex makes some fine BB guns. You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer CO2 air pistol than this one I think. Just seems flawless. It even states on the packaging Glock perfection. I think my next Airgun may very well be an Umerex. Oh and if you really want a blowback (don't think amazon sells the Glock w/blowback) you might consider the Beretta APX by Umarex. But that gun is only rated at 310 fps. All things being equal, if it were me I'd buy the Glock again in a heartbeat :)

    The Shadow 2 is superb!! Only change I would make is I would put those cocking wings in the rear of the slide that the H&K VP-9 has to make sling shot racking the slide easier in competition. The other thing I would do is recommend that you coat the grove for the slide rails with Lucas Red “N” Tacky #2 Multi-Purpose EP Grease, so that slide is even smoother and will have no wear. Fantastic Pistol.

      Only beat by the CZ Tactical Sports Orange. But to be fair that is an $1800 gun, and is my #1 gun for competition. Where BOTH guns have fallen short is the milling for Optics with Co-Witnessing like the Sig Sauer P226 Legion RX SAO. A class on its own.

    I own a Shadow 2 and a Sig 320. I have won divisions with both. My performance differences with these two pistols are negligible, including muzzle flip which I have filmed in slow mo with a grid board behind the pistols. The S2 is a little more accurate. The trade off is that it will not take all factory ammo or brass (that's a big deal) The hammer down start for the S2 in Production is an extra thing to deal with during the make ready and first two shots. Bottom line it's a toss up.

    I just bought a limited edition Sig Sauer P320 X5, about a week and a half ago. It has a coyote brown slide and was only offered through one distributor. The shop that I bought it from, bought the last 3 guns from the distributor. The gun is very impressive and I like it a lot. It is definitely a full size gun but has really good ergonomics. The trigger on my X5, is incredibly smooth. I also love the fact that my X5, came with 4, 21 round magazines. It took me 85 rounds, to fully load the gun and magazines.

    • @TheHumbleMarksman
      @TheHumbleMarksman 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      For Production division - not production gun - I should clarify! It's very soft shooting, very accurate, Very aggressive frame, very ergonomic frame, drilled and tapped mag release, and out of the box doesn't "need" anything. The XFive is a solid Production choice too, one of the better choices - but the grip needs texture, the mags it ships with don't work in Production division, the frame could use a bit of sculpting under the tang to allow strong hand thumb a better weld to it (that's a "me" issue due to how I grip). As far as plastic guns go - the XFive is one of the better ones - I just find the 40 oz plus guns easier to shoot fast. I believe the Shadow 2 will be the #1 gun in Production Division this year at nationals - it was #3 last year - having only been out 6 months.

    • @rrobb47
      @rrobb47 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TheHumbleMarksman
      Maybe it'll be #1, but we all know it's the archer not the arrow. Given some time to get familiar with the guns, I bet any of the top guys wouldn't change finishing position by switching from a Stock II to a Shadow 2 or vice versa.

    • @TheHumbleMarksman
      @TheHumbleMarksman 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I consider the Stock 2 the "same" as a Shadow 2 from recoil characteristics - the STock 2 "needs" trigger work and a fiber sight, the Shadow 2 "needs" a lighter mainspring and that's it. Shadow 2 has better checkering, Stock II has a more contoured beavertail and a better finish. Out of the box - the SHadow 2 is a more squared away gun and the fact it's routinely available for $100 more than a new Stock 2 (if you can find one) leads me to that choice. There's nothing wrong with a Tanfo, hell there is nothing wrong with any of them. the 40+ ounce guns are easier to shoot faster once they're out of the holster, the lighter guns present faster and swing faster target to target. Anything is possible but many/most find the heavy guns "easier".

    In my country, it's a long and arduous process to get handgun licenses. Basically, it took me 1 year and 3 months, with a lot of work in between, to get me to the point where I can buy a 9MM.
    Here, it really is a matter of "I can only have one" (pr caliber, maximum 4 different calibers), so I randomly checked out a CZ Shadow 2 at my local gun shop last weekend. Instantly fell in love with it, and now I have decided to buy one.
    I came into the store having no idea what to pick, and came out 99% sure. After checking it out some more, the last percent fell into place. I loved the look and feel of it, and the trigger was just superb straight out of the box. Good sights too.

    • @jangolub8240

      Where are you from? What was the whole process to get the license?

    • @PragmaticTornado
      @PragmaticTornado 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jangolub8240 Norway. One of the stricter countries in the world where handguns are concerned. Rifles and shotguns aren't too bad.
      First you have to be a member of a handgun club, for a minimum of 6 months (12 months for anything higher than .22LR in my particular club). You have to attend minimum 2 organized training sessions each month during that period, and the club has to sign off on each of those sessions.
      Then, once all that is done, you can ask your club whether they will vouch for you for gun ownership, and if they do, you have to deliver a piece of paper from the club, plus a ton of other documentation, to the police. Then you have to wait around 3 months for the response, and if the application is accepted, you have to pay a fee, and then you can purchase a weapon (or weapons).
      The police denies applications regularly, for so many different reasons. It is strict, and getting stricter by the day.
      And you can only own 1 handgun pr caliber, and a maximum of 4 different calibers, unless you are an active competition shooter, at which point you may be granted a backup weapon license in the same caliber as the one you compete in.
      I have all 4 licenses now, and 3 guns, so I am only missing my .44 Magnum Desert Eagle in Titanium Gold, and my collection is complete.

    • @jangolub8240
      @jangolub8240 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@PragmaticTornadowiw, thats even stricter than in Slovenia. I just finished my test about safe gun hadling, now i have to pass a medical exam and become a part of a club. Than i can fill an application to get a license to be a gun owner, but i can only carry it to the shooting site, and back home. I think that is all. And the police checks you out, so only minor things still go tru, no crimes, just tickets and stuff. Thats super that you got it, wish me luck that my license goes tru :)

    • @PragmaticTornado
      @PragmaticTornado 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jangolub8240 Oh yeah you also need a 3 day firearms safety course before you can even become a member.
      Surprisingly there is no medical exam required but if you have any kind of mental disease history which the police finds out about, any applications are denied. And any criminal record and you can forget owning any weapons.
      We can carry our firearms to and from the range, weapons shops for servicing and the like, and any other places where we are shooting. Basically the same there as in your country.
      Good luck with it! :)

The trigger is just a dream come true and i completely agree with you it makes an average shooter shoot better. I consider myself an experienced shooter and i also think i shoot pretty good, but when i tried the CZ i managed a one inch 10 round group at 10 yards without effort. The way i see it, it would take little to no mods at all to make it my competition gun. Oh. How did I miss this? Enquiring minds MUST know.
    So I’ve asked around a bit. Have you experimented with different grain rounds in the S2? If so, I would be interested in your thoughts. So far I’ve mostly shot 115 gr and 124 gr and thought the heavier grain was consistently more accurate testing from 7 to 15 yards. I did stretch out once to 25 yards with a spread of about 7 to 8 inches with 124 gr.

    I bought both of these at the same time because of this video. Had them now for two weeks. I have ran around 1,000 rounds through each. Honestly I can’t really pick my favorite. I thought it would be the cz I’ll admit I shoot it a lot faster lol it’s built for speed. But the sig seems more accurate for some reason. Hell at 75 yds ( I know its impractical to fight with a pistol at this distance) I made 21 shots (a whole mag) on a full size silhouette. With the cz I averaged 13 or 14 out of the 17 round mag. That being said I still don’t have a favorite.

    I have both of them. I have a Shadow 2, an optic ready Shadow 2 with a Vortex Venom and a Sig P320 X5 with Sig Romeo 1 optic. I bought the Sig X5 for Carry optics initially, followed by the Shadow 2 OR chiefly because the S2 was so damn hard to get hold of, despite being on a waitlist since May 2018 with one vendor and then jumping ship to another vendor who was already on their second shipment and I wanted an optic ready gun BAD. So the Sig did not win me over in term of ergonomics and shootability, but I bought in hook, line and sinker on optics, despite being able to shoot the Shadow faster and more accurately with iron sights than I could with the optic Combat Tupperware Sig. Both are great guns, but in my humble option and experience, the Shadow 2 rules supreme and the optic, once I get that adapter plate for it, the optic ready Shadow 2 will be equally as amazing. The people that are still resisting the Kool-Aid...... just suck it up and swallow.

    FYI - they do have competition in low light where you must have a flashlight. Not USPSA or Steel but local competitions. I held and dry fired both. My first competition gun was a CZ 75 and I won some prize money with it. I am too old to compete so I was just looking for a good range gun after I retired last year. I also tend towards Sigs and His and owned an X Sig in the past.
    I loved the CZ but it was heavier and at my age that matters. I also liked the ability to load almost a whole box of ammo in the four magazines. Plus I can buy different frames for carry without buying a whole new gun. Nonetheless I may get the CZ next Christmas.

    It’s nice owning both of these, plus the Walther Q5, the G34, XDM 5.25, and a few more. Long barrel 9mm target pistols are just plain fun....but for the funnest shooting toy of all, it’s hard to beat the Shadow 2. I’ve owned a few P226 X5s, USP Experts, an SVI, and a couple P210s. Some (most) have been lighter, prettier, or more collectible, but none have been more shootable for me than the Shadow 2.

    I rented a cz 75 sp01, and shot it for the first time a few days ago. I was blown away. Classical feel and look, flat shooting, a total pleasure. Then I rented a shadow and quite frankly I preferred the regular cz and shot it better too.
    I shot my sig legion p226 a bit better as far as groupings, but that’s likely due to my familiarity with it.
    Still thinking about that cz though…
    Otherwise, what else, the takedown lever on the cz bugged my support thumb, so I just put it right below it and above the trigger. Took care of that problem. Also the safety is severely stupid and wouldn’t work in combat, for me, but the decocker version would be amazing.

    The Shadow 2 is by far better than the X-Five, and IMO even better than the Sig Legion series.

    I sold my P320 X5 a few weeks ago because I shoot my CZ much better. Had a case blowout and blew the extractor out the slide and Sig said it was an expendable part and I had to pay $21 for a new one, the gun was 2 weeks old. I now also have a CZ TS Orange in 9mm and that gun is absolutely awesome. The only Sigs I have now and love is my 226 Legion, and my EDC P365. I've won more matches using a CZ than all others I used previously, XD9 custom, Glock, and M&P. CZ's are the best for the money.

    Update: I contacted a friend who's friend works at Sig. He said the 320 modularity makes one gun ok and the next gun a lemon. The customer reps are told to say anything to keep returns low and they are swamped with returned pistols. The circuitry on the Romeo sights go bad frequently and the Sig is a one trick pony unlike the Glock MOS with changeable site plates. -FYI.

    • @KSGunGuy01

    From what I recall, these days, the X5 comes with 4 mags, 21rd each, while X5 Legion comes with 3 mags, 17rd each. I recently got X5 Legion and it came with 3 mags, 17 rd each only, and I been finding in the recent years that's how its always been now. Its a bit sad.
    I'm a new gun owner from Mar 2020 and own AccuShadow 2 instead of CZ Shadow 2, although I'd love to get one to pair with the AccuShadow 2. I also have Sig X5-Legion. Gotta say I'm pretty pleased with both of them.
    CZ over Sig any day. CZ is world champ. Sig is National champ but a pretty good competitor with CZ, but CZ is in a world of its own like othres have said.
