Joe Kapp. The toughest Chicano. The single bar, frozen tundra of old Metropolitan Stadium - he always exuded such toughness and ferocity. Love these highlights

Quite possibly the toughest QB to ever play in the NFL. So sad to have lost both Joe Kapp and Bud Grant so close together. Both, all-time greats.

RIP legendary Injun Joe. No other quarterback like him then and since. Win or Die trying. Interesting fact: he was an associate producer on the 1978 great teen angst film 'Over the Edge.' Got his passing technique from throwing cabbages when they didn't have a football.

It's great to have another Volsky production, even if the subject matter is a rather sad one. These past 2 months without a new Volsky release have proven to me beyond a doubt that every day with a new Volsky video is like Christmas morning, and every day without one is like the third day of Lent.

I remember when Kapp and the Vikings lost to the Colts in the 1968 playoffs. Kapp vowed he would seek revenge against the Colts in the Vikings home opener of the 1969 season. As it turned out Kapp and the Vikings humiliated the Colts 52-21 with Kapp throwing an NFL record 7 TD in one game. I always wondered what Kapp would have done to the KC Chiefs in the opening game of the 1970 season had he been able to sign with the Vikings in 1970 and not left for Boston

"'... Dagwood Bumstead trying to catch a bus" Hahaha!
People were excited when he came to Boston. He was expected to lead us out of the woods and deep into the playoffs. He, unfortunately, took beatings from every direction. They gave him very little to work with.

Somehow, the Vikings didn't include Kapp on its list of the Top 50 Vikings of all time. The inspirational leader of the franchise's first Super Bowl contender? C'mon. My guess is that the Vikings were being incredibly petty about the failed contract talks that they had with Kapp after the 1969 season--many, many years ago I also think they should have signed him no matter what given what he meant to the team and all that he gave to his position and the success the Vikings enjoyed under him.
