Dawn and this mixture also kills Boxelder bugs on contact as well as any bug with an exoskeleton. The soap quickly removes the natural oils from the exterior plates and their bodies seize up. Great that someone reposted this. A forgotten marvel!!

It works!! Also great for younger puppies and kittens that you DO NOT put poisonous collars, dips, topical on or medications given orally. I use it on both my dogs who are getting elderly now. You can use it in the bath for them on bathing day. Be careful if your pet has dryer skin and don't use too much or too often.

Yeah I thought about addressing that, but honestly it’s dependent on the situation… i.e. the degree of infestation to begin with, to the amount of rainfall that washes the solution away. I thought it best to leave it to individual judgment.

I was using coconut oil on my leg so I wouldn't get bit
And I have upgraded to MCT oil for brain health and figured that would work as well and why not on the cats and their kittens
it won't hurt them... And probably would even be beneficial to them
Also adding a few drops of repellent tea tree oil or lavender or eucalyptus or peppermint oil would even be better...
There's probably a recipe out there in Google land

I've been reading a lot about cats and fleas. Cats are very sensitive to many essential oils. So, check that you are using only the ones they can tolerate. Dogs are much different, and can apparently tolerate most ES's.

I've been dealing with fleas on my cat for a little while now. I have no clue how he got them. He never goes outside. I live in Ohio and it's cold as shit out. And I have no other animals. He's 2 now and I've had him since he was 6-7 weeks. He has never had them until now. I feel so bad for him. I periodically do some research and That's how I found you actually. I came across The dawn dish soap water in the bowl trick video. We have bathed him in dawn a few times and used the the best topical flee meds and now I finally got him a $65 flea collar and been using cap star. Seems to be helping. But, I just found more of that black flea poop. So I'm going to try the trick you said in the other video as well

I use a little bit in the bath water and keep the spray bottle handy if they go outside for any length of time. It won't harm their skin,it's gentle. Some breeds can have dryer skin than others and that would become drier if you use too much h. I agree about flea bites being worse but some dogs will scratch like the sickens for dry skin. Also, even if there is not a flea on them but one has bitten them then died, some pets are allergic to the bites.

Look into diatomaceous earth to dust onto their bedding, beneficial nematodes to spray into the yard, wash all clothes and bedding for everyone in hot water, and flea medicine that kills flea larvae and eggs. The soap will only kill adult fleas and won't do anything to flea eggs, the other options mentioned will dry out, burn, or poison the flea eggs and larva.
Very sorry for your loss, feeding cats and dogs some cooked boneless chicken will help them recover from a flea infestation if you can afford it.

Yes, I'm sorry you're having such a tough time of it. My dogs are miserable with fleas, and the older dog (nearly 15 yrs old) is so feeble, she doesn't even scratch much. Gave her a bath today with lavender/hemp Dr Bronners. She smells great, but can't tell if any flea improvement. A few years ago, tried diatomaceous earth-- miserable experience. It seemed to aggravate the fleas, not kill them. They just got more aggressive, but didn't die.
