This is really really good. Easy, cheap, very effective. Kinda stupid that noone thought of this before and acted on it, its so obvious. Either way, this man deserves a Medal.
Amazing, a person who actually cares about people and not just politics and money. I wish more medical professionals were like him, then maybe they could start saving people again and not just looking at them as a paycheck.
I love the talks like this. They have so much more of an impact than just some artist advertising their latest work or some company trying to sell their product.
Actually in Singapore we have something pretty similar. We have volunteers who sign up with basic firefighting and CPR+AED knowledge who will be alerted if there’s a case within 400m of them. At the same time a paramedic bike, fast response vehicle and an ambulance are all dispatched fire the station and arrive within minutes. This has proven to save lives and have already saved 10 of thousands of people already. Keep it up guys 👍
Great talk. I was stuck in traffic yesterday due to an accident and I saw how difficult it was for the ambulances to get to the scene. I was thinking to myself how much it would be if they were on motorcycles instead.
In the UK we call them 'First Responders'. Volunteers get given some equipment from the Ambulance service and maintain the casualty until the professionals arrive
🙏🏻Wow, I am truly at a loss for words! This is amazing, and I have always been impressed by them. What a fantastic idea that no one thought of before! It's incredible how God's people come up with such great concepts. Thank you for sharing! 👍 😊🙏🏻 This idea should be implemented in every corner of the planet. ❤❤❤🎉🎉🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Ambulance on motorcycles has been established in Slovenia (a country which some people don't even believe it exists - it is in Europe and it is not Slovakia, if I may say) several years ago, long before this video showed up, about 8 years ago, if I'm not mistaken. And yes, it is a brilliant idea!
Suzuki Hayabusa and the Zero DSRP would be the best choices for a paramedic motorcycle 🏍. If the police use Busas and the Busas backs can get customized to be pimped out and still go 200+ mph with stark acceleration, then certianly so can paramedics using the Busas, especially when SECONDS COUNT BETWEEN LIFE, DEATH, OR PERMANENT INJURIES. And they can still carry ALL of the life saving advanced paramedic equipment as on existing paramedic motorcycles or ambulances while splitting lanes at over 200mph. The Zeros can go off road and in buildings since it's all electric.
Ambucycles are already in Australia. One helped my friend today when she was having a severe allergic reaction to an accidental ingestion of seafood. Without a paramedic on an ambucycle, she might not have survived. He arrived within 5 minutes of the call and kept her stable until the ambulance arrived.
This video exemplifies why TED is so wide-spread, because no matter whether you are a billionaire or an ambulancer, as long as you have an impact on human society, you can share your experience here.
The laws vary alot. In Canada where I live, you're protected if you don't have medical training. Typically, if you call EMS then you're protected from any liability. As well, from what I've heard, most of those cases of people getting sued after performing first aid are getting thrown out or first-aider wins the case
It's not about carrying people to a hospital. An ambulance (however late) is the vehicle the victim gets into; their ambucycle is there to provide medical attention for the time being before the ambulance makes its way to the scene.
perhaps if that gentleman had the same mindset as you, he wouldn't have started this brilliant idea or had been as successful as he is today.. it's always more rewarding when you're more optimistic in life :)
There's another difference in the US. Here, generally speaking, the average response time for the Fire Department is ~3-5 minutes and EMS ~5-7 minutes. So, in a way, this problem may not necessarily be relevant for most of the country. In places that are understaffed or over populated, this may work.
now that's devotion. i think that doctors should be on call in all locations. people would say it would.never happen in ny. it can happen if they stay true to the cause.
There are a lot of people that think only Gov't can do services like this, but they fail to realize that free thinking innovators came up with this idea, NOT Gov't! This is PROOF that people are motivated by their own thoughts, goals and whatever selfish reasons and it doesn't always mean the outcome is doom and gloom. We don't need Gov't to lead us or give us permission. The Free Market provides and fills the vacuum where there is a need.
I remember , when I was in china, a old lady was down in floor and covered with blood, surprised that no one is helping , I ran toward her, but my Chinese friend literally dragged me away.. He explained that most
In the U.S.A.,PER WIKI: "Good Samaritan laws are laws or acts offering legal protection to people who give reasonable assistance to those who are injured, ill, in peril, or otherwise incapacitated. In some cases, Good Samaritan laws encourage people to offer assistance (duty to rescue).[1] The protection is intended to reduce bystanders' hesitation to assist, for fear of being sued or prosecuted for unintentional injury or wrongful death."
A creative concept to save lives, all lives, of all national origins, all religions, I just wonder why it was difficult for Eli Beer to say "Palestinian" or "Palestine" and mention Arabs instead. Palestinian are Arabs whom happen to originate in Palestine..
Looks like someone has never heard of the Good Samaritan law. I'm certified in advanced first aid and wilderness first aid. I won't hesitate to help someone in need.
Standard first aid, Wilderness first aid, EMT and EMT Instructor here, also formerly was BCLS and CPR Instructor as well; also attended Naval School of Health Sciences (along with AFA/EC there, and can do everything that a Paramedic and LPN can; but state of MIssouri didn't pass a bill giving credit for military training, of any kind, until year 1996...now a Licensed Peer Specialist, Green County Senior Peer Specialist, with Senior, Adult, Veteran and Youth Mental Firat Aid...
The success of this pre-ambulance program certainly depends on the number of people participating in it within a geographical area. The volunteer responder is very successful in rural areas in the U.S. because of good participation and training; However, when the participation wanes, the service to others becomes compromised and potentially dangerous for both responders and the public they are attempting to help. I would be interested in how this company retains so many volunteers.
True, but I'd think that most people who would do this job would also be motorcycle or scooter enthusiasts so would be aware and comfortable with the risks of riding on two wheels anyway.
I am trying to find writers and administrative help to start a national fraternity of Special Events motorcycle teams; local communities can form Basic Life Support teams; Advanced Life Support teams; Bloodrunners teams to transport blood for community blood centers, etc. However, I have no money to pay anyone to get the paperwork done. P.S. This is my "play" e-mail account I am using. Contact me at somoes@rocketmail.com, which is my nonprofit account. Using friend's computer until they get my laptop out of the shop...
Even if there is not a Good Samaritan law in your state, problems liability would only attach for those who fail to use reasonable care. This rule makes sense: we want people to help, but we don't want people to help if they're only going to make things worse by doing something the ordinary, reasonably prudent person would not do. If someone's negligence causes harm, then it is fair for the rescuer to pay for it; it's not a get rich quick scheme by the victim. Some people are too cynical.
You are talking about random untrained people trying to help. The guy in the video is talking about doctors or at least people trained in first aid. When he talks about the guy who saved his father he says that the guy was in the first batch of trainees, or something of this sort, so he was trained. Anyway, I think that the idea is quite good and the EU law should accommodate for this type of rescue, if it doesn't already.
Also, lawyers don't punish people. Lawyers bring suits, and most of them don't bring frivolous ones. Juries or judges decide whether people's conduct is reasonable under the circumstances, so don't make it seem like lawyers are judge, jury, and executioner. If you went to a lawyer because you believed you had the right to recover for an injury, you would want your day in court too. Believe it or not, sometimes litigation is the most peaceful way to resolve a dispute.
He wasn't chasing him. No evidence intent to use the gun and he was reporting somebody who he claimed with reasonable suspicion based on numerous things, history of the neighborhood not just skin profiling. In the 911 call, he was just giving location info and lost the guy. In other situations people who help those from a car, assist police, or defend somebody from with necessary violence in public gets sued or jailed all too often. Zimmerman gets demonized by public for doing "a cop's job".
Not to support the troll, but Good Samaritan law coverage is spotty across the US and a lot of common sense cases where one would render aid are actually lawsuit bait. Personally, I would render aid regardless, but I recognize I might be leaving my family penniless in the process and not everyone is fine with that.
That is not true if your state has a Good Samaritan law on the books. Most medical professionals are protected by Good Samaritan laws and cannot be held liable unless they are grossly negligent. You would be hard pressed to find a jury that has found a medical professional grossly negligent during a rescue, so it hardly ever happens.
Love has no limits in the eyes of spontaneous altruists. I salute you, true hero!
How can people dislike this talk? It boggles me.
This is really really good.
Easy, cheap, very effective.
Kinda stupid that noone thought of this before and acted on it, its so obvious.
Either way, this man deserves a Medal.
Wow. That v’hi Rachamecha was incredible- such heart and range!
The most inspirational TED talk I've ever seen
Thank you Eli Beer.....feeling so much inspiired!god bless you.
people like u still give us hope that the world will change one day and will become a better place to live.
I Am impressed by this organization! love to see this spread over the world
This idea is extraordinary amazing, thumbs up for making it happen.
From Egypt with love.
אין אליך אלי כמה שמדא מנסים לשים לכם יד ואתם אלי ביר , מושיקו , לייזר היימן , אלי פולק נלחמים למען חיים של אחרים כל הכבוד לכם🙏🙏
Amazing, a person who actually cares about people and not just politics and money. I wish more medical professionals were like him, then maybe they could start saving people again and not just looking at them as a paycheck.
Hey, politicians and other, uh, leaders...get out of the way. Let guys like Eli and the people run the show. Fantastic passion, vision and commitment.
I love the talks like this. They have so much more of an impact than just some artist advertising their latest work or some company trying to sell their product.
This guy, all my respect.

Singapore is similar to Israel actually. The Singaporean military was actually built by Israel, check it up!
Give this guy the Nobel Peace Award. :)
He is a true Mensch and a hero.
Great talk. I was stuck in traffic yesterday due to an accident and I saw how difficult it was for the ambulances to get to the scene. I was thinking to myself how much it would be if they were on motorcycles instead.
this needs to be implemented in all places
In the UK we call them 'First Responders'. Volunteers get given some equipment from the Ambulance service and maintain the casualty until the professionals arrive
Fantastic idea! What great people. Should be started up in Scotland to get people to hospital quickly in remote areas.
they are doing this without any benefit and thats what makes it different. Amazing. A very nice presentation by an honest man.
Wow. This is absolutely brilliant.
In the Netherlands we have motorcycle ambulances for over 25 years. If they arrive before the regular ambulance they can start helping immediately.
I have been trying to set up my national fraternity of motorcycle EMT/Paramedic teams since 1980...
How do I start this in Malaysia ?
Amazing! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I work on a motorcycle ambulance here in Brazil.
Hes a superhero! of the highest order!
🙏🏻Wow, I am truly at a loss for words! This is amazing, and I have always been impressed by them. What a fantastic idea that no one thought of before! And to think this guy beat COVID-19...
yes he did
We have ''ambucycles'' in Australia. They work great in Sydney's traffic!!
We already have this type of ambulance here in Brazil. But it's a part of the state emergency corps. Works fine.
Bravo!! Nobel thoughts at 17 nice work and good idea.
Israelis making the world a better place as usual. Bravo.

Would definitely volunteer in that case.
Bless you ❤️

Wonderful idea. Waiting for this to be seen in India.
Una excelente solucion para la atencion inmediata de emergencias para las ciudades de alto transito como Lima

This is wonderful. If this existed in my community, I would join. :) Thank you so much.
create it in your community😀
Hhazak Ubarukh neshama tova!
Look up "Good Samaritan Law" It prevents patients from suing people who were trying to give them medical attention.
Amazing idea! Why not also give some "life saving lessons" to students, like 5 hours in total, it would prevent a lot of deaths.
Very good idea hope you have great success
This would be a good idea for St john ambulance. In Britain, OZ and NZ.
It's not about carrying people to a hospital. An ambulance (however late) is the vehicle the victim gets into; their ambucycle is there to provide medical attention for the time being before the ambulance makes its way to the scene.
Great presentation.
This is amazing
Same in Canada
Keep up the good work! :)
Brilliant.
They still have transport ambulances. The bikes can just get there 10 times faster.
perhaps if that gentleman had the same mindset as you, he wouldn't have started this brilliant idea or had been as successful as he is today.. it's always more rewarding when you're more optimistic in life :)

That may be true, but he gets onto the point of uniting people to save lives.
I think that was a one of the greatest parts of his talk. I guess you don't understand what it's really like in Israel.
good man !
thanks for share

Finish your thought, please...
Thinking is hard. Trash talking and pointing the finger is easy, and for some it's fun.

True super heroes.
You are lucky if an ambulance or police comes when you dial 911 here in Vancouver.
You mean, Mazal Tov! ;)
Great!!

great video you tube keep it up wake up the world
Actually, most places in the US have good Samaritan laws that shield people who help others. You can't get sued in the US for helping someone.
Look up good Samaritan law. You can also have them waive legal liability if no laws are in place by asking if they want help.
True, but I'd think that most people who would do this job would also be motorcycle or scooter enthusiasts so would be aware and comfortable with the risks of riding on two wheels anyway.

A lot of good laws and rights can be thrown out on a state level.
Seems like a GPS coordinated cellphone pager etc network that would dispatch the nearest capable first responder.
Being in the United States doesn't matter: what matters is weather or not people decide to sue.

Could really use them in Melbourne. A guy was waiting for over 40 minutes for help because ambulance crews were on their lunch break. Ridiculous.
They need this desperately in China. Can you please start up an organisation here. Response times here in China are sometimes over 30 minutes.
you'll get a good response if you start this in INDIA.
I'm sorry - this is not a new concept - we have had motorcycle nhs paramedics in the UK for a decade
Before WW II, doctors actually manned the ambulances out of hospitals on ambualnce crews...
these are used allover europe, better ones actually
Toast Cat i not from Europe but I have see them. You are totally right
So? This guy started it in his country.
He wasn't chasing him. No evidence intent to use the gun and he was reporting somebody who he claimed with reasonable suspicion based on numerous things, history of the neighborhood not just skin profiling. In the 911 call, he was just giving location info and lost the guy.
