@@Karen-wv4xg nothing much really. I just changed the circumference a lil bit cause my cat’s head is small. So measure as you go! And the ear placement as well
You'd just have to crochet more rows. For the top part of the hat, keep making more rows and increase the number of double crochets by one for each row until it's big enough to cover the top of your dog's head. For the ear holes you'll probably have to chain more than 12 depending on our big your dog's ear is. Just make sure it's an even number. Same goes for the straps, you'd have to make them longer. Then for the flare part of the hat, you also have to just crochet more rows, increasing the amount of double crochets by one as you make more rows. You'd also probably need more yarn. Hope this helped!
Hey! I doubt you'll see this, but I was just wondering how I would have to adjust this for a medium sized dog with approximately 11-12 cm from ear to ear. Any help would greatly be appreciated, I want to gift this to my dog for her birthday next month.
@@crochetit it’s fine, I figured it out. I simply did 10 sc and did a 5 st gap instead of your 12 sc and 6 st gap, then followed the pattern to the end. This left enough room for my chihuahuas ears and still gave her some wiggle room, if anyone else would like the ears a little smaller I recommend 8 sc with a 4 st gap but I wouldn’t go any smaller than that
Good pattern, the instructions are a bit hard to follow at Rnd 2 but it was smooth sailing afterwards, my two dachshunds look cute in their green hat ❤❤
Ok for round 8 you are going to do 1 dc into the next stitch and 1 inc into the next stitch (inc is 2 dc’s into the same stitch), then just repeat those 2 steps all the way around. :)

When you use thinner yarn your project will come smaller out but it will still more or less use the same amount. But it is best to use the the same thickness of yarn as in the tutorial (Dk yarn) :)
I just did mine but my dog bigger so I added the 2 rows for the top before the hole for the ears, the hole added from 12 ch to 20ch , it came out slightly big for the head so I couldn’t make the last wavy row, but still love it though I lost count for each rows 😅Thanks for the tutorial!❤️
i just started learning how to crochet and I wanted to try making a hat for my dog. But every time I get to the 3rd row of the hat it starts looking like a bell, unlike what shows in the video.... What am I doing wrong...
Hi!! So for round 3 you are going to dc 1, inc 1 all the way around. I think the reason why it is looking like a bell is, because it might be that not all the stitches have the same tension or in other words the same tightness . Or it could be something entirely different. :)

just made this and it's so easy and perfect! thank you!!
Can i make this hat for my dog (small) with 25 gram 4 ply yarn?
Hi, this pattern is already crochet in a small with Dk yarn. It will come much smaller out if you crochet it in 4ply yarn.
Hi may I know if I do not want the wavy, can just need to do DC instead of DC 2 and DC Inc in last 2 rows?
@@crochetit thanks, still trying…😂
Hello Brenda how’s the weather over there
I live in a hot climate, can you use cotton yarn, if so what do you recommend?
Yes, I love to use cotton yarn, because the yarn doesn’t get fuzzy after it has been worn or used :)
i just started learning how to crochet and I wanted to try making a hat for my dog.
@@crochetit thank youuuu
