I cannot even comprehend how much time and effort this must have taken. Thank you SO much! I am just beginning to tackle Loremaster and this information is extremely helpful. Plus I’m just a huge data nerd, so… ❤
What a massive project, thank you so much for presenting your findings, I will comment and thumbs up all of your leveling videos to help spread your channel because you really put some herculean effort into this!
14:00 I remember how long the questline for hyjal was I was so exhausted when it was released holy cow, I didn't have amazing WOTLK raid gear either, so the first foes were like a boss in of themselves, Very stressful memories haha!
I must say that I admire your tenacity and dedication to this project you put in a lot of time into it and I appreciate it. I’ve bookmarked this video and shall use it on my next toon.
I thought I loved leveling having just maxed out my last of the 50 slots allowed... you must really love it ;) LOL One thing i have noticed was the class when leveling can play a huge part. BM hunter -vs- pally, night and day speed. Your dedication to helping us level fast puts you above all the others! I have been taking your advice on certain zones, and then adding in BC dungeon(only once each for the quests) queues while in those zones and getting insane results!! Thanks for all you do for the wow community!!
All this here took about 9months! I jokingly called it my baby project. This will be continued too after pre-patch hits to cover the new range/zone combos as well as the ones I didn't do.
This is a wonderful video I'm creating some alts on a new realm and didn't want to do the silverpine hillsbrad/wod route again and again, just as I open yt app I see a godsent video made by a great content creator Thanks a thousand time for all the effort you did for gathering all these data
Ah the Hinterland turtles! I used to farm the heck out of them on my warrior back in Vanilla. I think it was for pearls, and the trash vendored alright.
Crystalsong Forest has no quests because dalaran was a main hub back in wotlk and it was so crowded that questing under it at the same time would lag servers so much
wow looks like I have found someone that just enjoys gathering different sets of data about the games as much as I do :) I think that also it would be different with a brand new account that doesn't have a mount that could slow the times down a bit as well as a person familiar with the quests and locations would speed it up more. Great data and love the video
Again, your commitment and work ethic are astounding Kraken! + How're you feeling about Dragonflight releasing in 2022? You on track with your prep? Or is it going to be a bit of a squeeze?
My goal is to have all this done by pre-patch, which I was guesstimating would be between sept-nov, so this may fall right in line! I'm actually making great progress and feeling pretty good about it. DF will release when it releases and the timing doesn't bother me. I'll just get done what I get done!
The newer expansions would be the best ones to level through for gold as a lot of the gold you'll get will be from vendoring quest gear. The older the xpac, the less gold stuff sells for. Right now, Legion and BFA seem to grant a couple thousand in gold if you do a couple zones and vendor all the gear. Shadowlands can net you about 5-9k in the same method, but that may change after it's added to Chromie Time. This is all by no means a good source of gold though considering the time invested.
You should make a video about leveling using Summer flames (or Hallow Candy Buckets, etc). I just went from level 47 to lvl 49 honoring and extinguishing Kalimdor and Broken Isles.
I’m gonna use this to lvl a warlock. I’ve never been a warlock and this new lvl grind since the squish has been ridiculous. Lol. I adore westfall though. It’s very, very nostalgic for me and makes me think of fall.
Wonderful guide as always Kraken. Will you put out a revised guide before the pre-path and launch or wait till after? I am curious how BFA will be for 50 to 60 and if that means a change to experience for the whole expansion for leveling.
I would LOVE to level through other end game zones. I would be excited to level through Suramar, Argus, Nazjatar, etc. I was super disappointed when I'd tested those zones for xp (since you can do Suramar and Argus at 45) and got next to nothing.
@@KrakenLatte yeaaaahhh not to mention that shadowlands content got stale for me after like 2 chars so it’s very painful right now to level alts in cautious anticipation of dragonflight.
It's crazy how much they nerfed the Draenor bonus objectives and treasures. When that was current, the fastest way to level, hands down, was to prep all the bonus objectives (complete all but one thing in it), then pop one of those 200% xp potions and complete the objectives and pick up all the treasures. If you did that in like 2-3 zones, you'd go from 90-100 in like 90 mins (which is crazy for current-expansion leveling). Obviously a huge portion of that was the potions (which are no longer obtainable), but even without the potions, treasures were definitely worthwhile. You could get a huge jumpstart on leveling in that bracket and even skip whole zones as a result. I'd be interested to see how this compares to dungeon queueing in each of the different chromie time options as well. Also, if you haven't seen it, someone has gone 1-60 in 6:45:14 with no grouping, though that made extensive use of speed boosts and xp boosts, as well as a super-optimized leveling route.
Not sure if I've missed a link somewhere or it popped up in the video but do you have an excel sheet with all these times? It will be interesting to compare them with each other. If not that's okay, I can always go through the video and make one myself
Every time I go to level an alt I lose interest then proceed switching between characters to not do anything and then log off. How can I fix my leveling slump? I have no motivation.
Perhaps it's just not something you're into! If something devmotivates you, it might not be what you're interested in. Perhaps take a look at what excites you and just focus on that? Or try new things you've not thought about doing?
Amazing job Kraken. I am in the process of helping my little's level up toons on their account, so I have at least 20 toons to level up. This will help me lots! Are your Horde/Alliance 1-50 "long route" videos still accurate for best 1-50 path?
Hey! I've recently stumbled upon your lovely YT channel and tried out you 1-50 guides. Having watched most of this (have to go to bed now due to work tomorrow), I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the data. I feel like your 1-50 route for alliance is WAY superior to horde. Silverpine and Hillsbrad just felt vastly inferior to Loch Modan, which lead me to think about, what's actually the overall most enjoyable areas, meaning both "easily travelable" and good xp/hour. Loch Modan has no swimming, very little elevation that has you traveling instead of killing and such. Silverpine for Horde felt like such a drag in comparison. So much time spent just riding between quest hubs because you needed to talk to Sylvanas in another spot, all of a sudden. Any chance you'll post a top 10 xp/hour list or post the raw data you've posted in this massive video? Most of my takeaways so far have been "classic/cata areas are the best! Also legion" :p Thanks for being you. :)
Linked in the description are my spreadsheets and in those is all my zone data. And yeah, I strongly dislike Silverpine and Hillsbrad, but there were little in the ways of replacements for that level bracket for consistent results and Horde cannot do Loch Modan. This route will be redone in Dragonflight though and you can bet I'll be trying to replace them!
I did actually finish the video the next morning. Just didn't remove my post. :) I've quested the entirety of EK and Kalimdor multiple times during the past 16-odd years. I used to love Silverpine. Just not so much a fan of the new ones. Another thing you might be able to touch on. Is it at all possible to level 1-50 in Eastern Kingdoms for example? Or do you need to move on from 'classic' areas at some point? I get that for speed, you need to do what's most optimal, but if it's not exceedingly self-limiting to stay in EK, I might just do that going forward. When all is said and done; I've leveled a character from 1 for the first time since WoD because of your videos. Having an idea about how long it takes REALLY helps! Thanks and all the best going forward! Happy break (I hope) until Dragonflight. :)
I must say, I can't even imagine doing this kind of work, while also collecting and compiling the information. It seems like torture to me. I don't think I would do that, even for money. Just watching five minutes of this, my preference for leveling in dungeons while watching Netflix, not really thinking about anything, is strongly reinforced.
It's only torture if you don't enjoy leveling or doing that sort of content. Questing/leveling is a major part of my endgame since I retired from competitive content. Certainly not for everyone! XD
@@KrakenLatte Well, I'm in awe of your powers. Tolerance, determination, discipline, it's remarkable. I've been watching your videos for a while now, loving them, but some of your projects make one thing clear: it is ultimately fair that you've collected almost everything there is to collect in the game, and I have not. You're amazing! Ok, I'll just stop now. :)))
Curious how the leveling times in 30-40 and 40-50 are in pandaria compared to gorgrond/spires/nagrand (which are considered fastest in those ranges atm, excluding loch and val'sharah)
I don't know if it matters, but did you do the associated "Chromie time" for each expansion/zone areas? Interesting to see how the different zones xp are. There are certain things that are so normal/must do, and others I'll skip for sure! Thanks for making this.
Lucky for you, I released those about a year ago! Here's the links! Horde: th-cam.com/video/eWyFVXcBMdg/w-d-xo.html Alliance: th-cam.com/video/yM7WtXs24hg/w-d-xo.html
Think all the speed runners just do 1-10 in their respected starting zones than go directly to wod, do the portal intro skip and right into your garasion than mix of shadowmoon/jungle and your lvl 50 in like 4-5 hours time then to shadowlands.
The old long zones are the best designed. Honestly the new zones are way to quick. I miss when it would take you hours to finish a zone. Now you do an entire zone in 45 minutes. It's boring.
No wonder your final guide has linear zones, if you only have one attempt at each zone before recording the results it puts a massive bias on zones that have a singular direction as you don't need to think too hard about what to tackle when you're doing your one time run through.

Nice video Kraken, you're really making awesome content and those frequent uploads are very nice. Are you also planning on make classic wow videos?
I've found myself inadvertently levelling from 45 to 50 in Suramar as I want to unlock the Nightborne. It's slow going for levelling, that's for sure!

I'll have new data out after pre-patch, possibly after launch. Depends on when they get the new changes in. They're still not on beta for me to test!
They really oughta make the endgame zones an alternative to shadowlands zones. I would do suramar 1000 times before I wanna do shadowlands once.

The leveling brackets are:
10-30
30-40
40-50
50-60
Each "bracket" is a specific range of levels that scale differently according to their range.
I want to level a toon in BFA so I can get flying there.

Argus should be a Leveling Zone :(
