I don't understand why you keep saying "why?" What don't you get? It's not about football; it's war. It's passion and aggression. I would say "why?" when I see American sports fans, dead from the neck up, sedately filling their faces with hot dogs whilst wondering what happened to their souls

@@johnnash2815 In europe, clubs born almost all of them before WW1, full owned by the supporters. Like a labor union. Everyone pay a tax each month or year, to support the club existence, and with that money the players are paid.
Each town, or town side, have their own club, owned by their residents that support the club. Thats why we feel the clubs like religion or ethnicity level.
In USA every sport club are full owned by a rich man, and because of that stupidity, that family tribal emotional group connection to the club, will never happen. If you are not part of the club ownership, you have no reason to feel the club. Its a tribal connection between brotherhood.
Thats why in europe you dont have criminal gangs. We only have clubs, that has supporters since doctors to politicians to judges to police to base handy workers, all together as one, against all another clubs of the world, but mainly, against the biggest local rivals, and thats why all around europe you have street violence between football chants.
At Champions league level, european level, street violence between chants are rare. But at national levels street violence before and after games, are the most important job of the police to make sure they dont cross in the streets of the city of the day game.

From that day every home game we sing loudest from our hearts so anthem couldn't be heard ever again on our court. Euroleague is also sponsored from Turkey association thats why. NHL is the best league in the world and I enjoyed but the atmosphere was a bit off for me.. being used to European sport and fans. The only chants that was were those put on the screen of the arena like Go Canucks Go! Haha In Europe sports and cheering for a team is completely different, it’s passion, history, generation of family those who fought warII and I on the field the mindset is different I guess like a lot said in the comments it’s like war but with chants and choreographies which is better than guns haha . Embrace The Suck 21
In europe, clubs born almost all of them before WW1, full owned by the supporters.

I went to many derbies in Belgrade between Redstar and Partizans (Partizan fan here from Holland) The atmosphere is WOW and flares everywhere😂 It's NOT fire, people don't get hurt by a flair.
This is a big cultural difference, funny to see. We don't pledge to our flag in the morning at school and we don't say our country is THE BEST. But the passion is way deeper than in the USA.
It's painful for you guys, makes me a bad sad. It's so cool to be there.

Why you ask? Easy, it's war. Or war substitute lol, and it's because in Europe we have something that the US doesn't, away supporters. Purely because the US is so big, your sport is mainly home support only. Here dedicated supporters will follow their team week after week, home AND away. So at home you make enough noise to silence your visitors uf you can, and away is the opposite, trying to out sing the home end and nullify their noise. Volume is important but so is how unbelievably vile you can be to each others clubs/players/fans and how creatively and tunefully 🤣 I was actually at the head of my own club's crew that we called our "choir" for a few years, no high explosives here in Scotland lol but plenty of noise.

the thing about flares is that they are proibited and teams get finned for them, but ultras ofc still bring them because passion is more important !

17:19 In this occasion the Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) Belgrade, Serbia fans are outshouting the anthem of Euro League (successfully) in protest for all the corruption at the top of the organization. Other ultras did it too, but these guys are the loudest. And they still do it at the start of every match.

BTW has anyone besides me ever noticed that the Thessaloniki footage at 4:50 is in many football ultra video‘s yet this is clearly basketball? I mean of course they will appear loud because they are inside. You can see the pole and the basket and court at about 4:48.
Greek fans are passionate and great, but this appears to be a common mistake in many of these compilations

As football fans of your club you make your home stadium hostile to the opposing team and their fans. You turn your stadium into a fortress of noise, fear and also to send a message to any club that comes to your stadium that it's going to be Hell on Earth. Your fans also have to go to opposition football clubs stadiums and take them over with terrifying chants, flares, and to show them that you mean business. There are Ultras here in Britain but the ones that fight are called Hooligans. The notorious Hooligans were fans of my club CHELSEA FC the other notorious Hooligans were MILLWALL FC and WEST HAM UNITED FC all three from London. Then from Yorkshire there's LEEDS UNITED FC Hooligans, from the South Coast of England there is PORTSMOUTH FC Hooligans Those 5 Football Club Hooligans where the most Notorious in England. In the 1970's, the 1980's it was a bloodbath where fans were killed by opposition Hooligans and even some fans got brain damage from being attacked by opposition fans. Even the Police Officers got beaten up and ended up in hospital, I saw fans of my club going home with trophies like Police riot helmets, Police riot shields.
