    fun fact: European football stadiums are built to withstand the weight of 5 times the capacity because the architects know the crowds will be going CRAZY

    • @tl8211
      @tl8211 3 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      You'll note how most of the official capacity records for old stadiums are in relatively unimportant games because in the real big ones the people would just invade and then the capacity was however many they could fit.

      @@stormbrusik5168 Uh? Where did I say otherwise? I bet the same thing happened on Feyenoord's stadium. Its official max attendance is a league game, but Feyenoord won an European cup, I bet there were higher attendances than the official record, it's just lots of people fit in without being registered. A stadium as big as Feyenoord's could probably fit 100k people in the old days.
      PS: I read they're building a new stadium? Hopefully they'll keep the old one. Maracanã was "renewed" and lost all its magic.

    Hey bros i'm from Marseille in France and I used to go every home game at the stadium ! The song that is in the video is like a tradition. At the beginning of the match the ultras from the south curve launch the song and then ultras from the north repeats. The clip in the video was record during a derby against Paris St Germain and I was in lol! Like ur videos man ! ;)

    I'm from amsterdam. we have a "fan group" of a few 100 of the hardest fans. they have a supporters home in the stadium and everything. There we come up with the songs and make our own flags. There is also 1 or 2 "leaders" with drums and such that start up the songs and we join in. Then the rest of the stadion follows. As for pride. Football is a religion and a lifestyle over here. It isn't just a sport. In the past we even met up with the hardcore supporters groups of other clubs out in fields and fight to the death. Literally...since people died. Since 2010 that changed to meeting up, fighting but no major injuries anymore.
    there are huge parking places. But they're barely used since most people come by train and get off right in front. So parties already start in public transport with regular travelers getting in the midst of it all. In the Amsterdam Arena you have seating number assigned to you, especially if you got a year card. You try too arrive 1 hour or so in advance. And during the mid way break everyoen can move about for toilets. There are several rings filled with toilets and snacks tents etc.
    Stands for the larger clubs in europe can seat from 45.000 to 70.000 people per club. And the atmosphere the fans of the home team create can make the field players feel as if they're in hell at times. That is why it is often said that the home team plays with 12 man not 11 ;)

      The loudest and scariest sound i heard was when i was in the hospital, which was not far from the football stadium. I was in the nurse's room getting an IV when suddenly a roar was coming in waves, like it was coming from underground. We froze for a few seconds then remembered there was a match that evening. Everyone opened their windows and listened. It was magical. I am so proud of Europe.

    The parking lots of those stadiums are massive, they are build in order to accomondate almost the entire capacity of the stadium. In Greece usually the spaces closest to the stadium are taken very early during the day, so if you go for example 15 minutes before the game starts, you will probably have to walk for several minutes in order to reach the stadium itself. The traffic on the roads surrounding the stadium is another story though, if you live near a big stadium or drive in this area regularly, you follow the dates of big matches in order to avoid passing from there.

    • @niteynite
      @niteynite 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      True. It should be said that some chants and songs often start from the same section or stadium end, where die-hard fans, and often season ticket holders are. These fans are often organized in a supporters club (and/or *"ultras"* as some call themselves). They plan and make things like a lot of the bigger flags and banners you see. This holds true for a lot of clubs at least.
