Shots fired on eating lunch alone, that was a personal attack even if I'm self-employed at home after a trip relaxing. Thanks for spending all the money on this and letting us live vicariously through it. For the price you spent on both 4x5 setups and film, I could have bought another Leica M10D, probably not dropped by the previous owner this time.
Jason, I salute you for your ambition, patience, and determination. All that work to modify and adjust that camera is more than I could muster - give me a turnkey device that works out of the box every day. You deserve the impressive results that it will give you. Loved those images! Mostly the B&W stuff, but I have to say that last color photo is a real winner. Great composition and use of color. So the sharpness is off a bit - rendered small it is likely not noticeable. Large enough to notice it is dreamy. Yeah, that's the ticket.
Recently converted one of these cameras myself two months ago and I have to say I absolutely love shooting it, being able to carry a light and ready to shoot handheld 4x5 is a dream
As my teacher said, you can walk before you can fly or something (You always list measurements and co ordinates horizontally then vertically, hence 35mm not being called 25mm)
Yoo, i just recently came across the Travelwide 4x5. It's basically a plastic "tube" shell with a helical focus system. You calibrate the focus with a ground glass first and then you use the distance markings on the focus ring to shoot. It is an incredibly simple setup and extremely lightweight. If you're okay with basically a zone focussing system this is a very portable setup.
Dude.. get yourself a 4x5 Graflex Crown Graphic. You’ll have a similar portable large format camera with a rangefinder, and just as many frustrations.. but you won’t need to disassemble anything and try to mount plastic stuff where metal once lived.
There's somehting about this channel... that calms me down. -Jesse, Fast & Furious 1, 2001. Thank you for your work. This channel always brings me peace. Cheers from Mexico City.
As a photographer who sells conversion kits for this camera and it’s other models to convert it to shoot 120 I am all about this video! Great job…Also buy another land camera and convert it to shoot medium format. You owe it to yourself.
beseler aside and sorry about that purchase. my speed graphic 4x5 with the top rangefinder is good enough to carry and shoot with the rangefinder. plus different cams allow for different lenses. Best value in a 4x5 camera for me. Now using a lo-fi 4x5 back on my 110 or 700 or best 900 (light meter) work great as Ryan describes here.
there's plenty of 3D Printed accessories on ebay that really help make the Polaroid 110 a lot more modern like getting rid of that proprietary hot shoe
There’s also a good mod for the 110/similar Polaroid cameras that converts it to shoot with the LompGraflok instant backs. I think the film plane is even further back on that one so you’ll probably need to mod a new camera for it, but instax wide film is surprisingly cheap per shot compared to negative and slide film when you factor in dev costs.
This is so cool. Maybe a rear mount for filters some how? hmmm Also, the amount of work into this video and many others is unreal. Love the stop motion look you did with some of the b-roll of the camera. Again, love that you usually match your video footage with the format of photos you're taking. Great video!
I got given one of these cameras while I was back in Canada working. Arrived with 5 cameras I could not live without and came back to France with 20 cameras given free to me. This one I left as I had no use for it!! Dam!! Should have left it at my friend's house. Oh well.
I have a Polaroid 900 converted to shoot 4x5. The best part about the camera it has a 135mm 3.5 xenotar on it. I shoot lots of X-ray film that I cut myself with it. 10 cents a sheet
I really like to see those projects of yours. And while I am watching I often think, that I am kinda jealous not to have the time and/or the money to spent it on stuff like that. And in the end, when I see how much can go wrong even though you took so much care about everything, ruining a load of film that is quite expensive anyway, I am happy that this experience is missing in my life. ;)
Hi friend! I am currently in the process of converting a Polaroid 110a and have been having a great deal of trouble with the original shutter - it's laggy. In the video, you mentioned buying a new CLA mechanism. If I may ask, what mechanism did you purchase and where may I find one myself? Thank you for your time and the video!
Are you leaving the darkslide flapping in the wind just for the b-roll or actually shooting that way? I did that my first time using a Grafmatic and the upper right corners of all the sheets were fogged, as all the sheets in the stack are exposed through the little cutout. You're supposed to pull the darkslide out then push it back in (it goes behind the film septum).
It also makes sure the septum is all the way forward and flat - otherwise it may not be in the correct film plane. This could be the reason for slightly missed focus.
I'm at work, I am alone but I'm not eating lunch. Actually, I'll be going home to eat lunch with my wife. So suck on that Jason. Awesome video as always.
But it's awesome finding a deal on a box of 100 sheets of 4x5 off ebay for $105 dollars. I think I'm sitting on about 800 sheets of early 2000's expired film. Obviously the time I spend checking "4x5 film" on ebay needs to be replaced with taking the camera out more.
I think you should get the xenotar 135 f3.5 for your polaroid 110.. I think it's a perfect combo. I mean with all your beautiful cameras this polaroid deserves the xenotar..if you have a hard time finding the 135 i think I got 2..
Hey, it’s half frame Ryan Gosling.
Most creative Ryan Gosling joke so far 👏
Lmfao
110 Ryan gosling
I don’t know if this can be topped
Comment award nominee for best comment of 2024.

I watched this on my phone at work while eating lunch alone.
Bro we all do that 🤣
Me rn
I almost did. So I watched it over dinner instead!
Smae
looser
we cool bro
The slightly out of focus one of the couple still works. It gives it a really nice dreamy look.
That's what I said!
Looked like a painting
I’m at work, I’m on my phone, I’m on lunch, and I’m alone. Jason’s clairvoyance once again pierces my realm

I love that last shot. It’s very painterly and I think the blur actually adds to it. Also I appreciate the video aspect ratio bit.
That book title covered by the mic stand like no one would notice

excellent timing to get good geometry and composition... allowing the players to move into place...

Really rocking with that last shot, the motion blur and color makes it properly look like a painting.k
so much respect for spooky black album
Oi oi, Tesco essentials Ryan Gosling back, in the same week!
Amazing how dedicated you are to making these old cameras work again. Really great video.
As my teacher said, you can walk before you can fly or something
(You always list measurements and co ordinates horizontally then vertically, hence 35mm not being called 25mm)
Finally! My aunt also in the Midwest has the same camera, and I finally use it!
seeing a spooky black reference was a bit of a culture shock icl
spooky black reference, we're back boys!!

Finally 4x5 thats worth the effort

I LITERALLY BOUGHT ONE FOR 45$ TODAY at a thrift store thanks for the amazing videos
Not me eating lunch alone, watching this video 😅
I’ve shot the Getty and loved seeing your perspective of it. Absolutely lovely.
Been binging your vids the past few days. Great timing Jason
Same conditions as Robert Capa: BELLY LAUGH!😂
jason knowing who spooky black is was not on my 2024 bingo.
How do I listen to this album? 😢
Technical flaws or not, that shot is sweet. Has the "doesn't feel like a photo" vibe. More of a painting
There's somehting about this channel... that calms me down. -Jesse, Fast & Furious 1, 2001.
Thank you for your work. This channel always brings me peace. Cheers from Mexico City.
love all the images. Including the "out of focus " image.
jason thought no one would notice the secret word below the fuji blimp 👀
the spooky black mention
Just what i needed for my own polaroid
Literally watching this during my lunch at work alone. Felt that loser comment in my soul
I almost spit out the lunch I was eating as you decided to call us out 😂
This photo set 😍. Great work!
The stop motion section was fuego my man
your last shot is impressionistic... a Monet pastel impression displayed... or maybe not... nevertheless... i dig it...
That seems very clever! Good luck. Nice images, BTW.
14:57 😱How does he know?! Ok wizard man you need to stop watching me eat alone at work.
Great images, Jason!
Thia video cured my mild depression.
Omg I have a converted Polaroid Pathfinder 110 too. Shoutout to Morton Kolve!
Man, you are a genius with all that tinkering, amazing work!
Tinkering? This project is like 95% complete once the parts are delivered.
Love that camera. Plus you can shoot medium format with a roll film holder. You should try that one next. Then you can miss focus on multiple formats!
Any idea if they also make a 6x17 back?
As a photographer who sells conversion kits for this camera and it’s other models to convert it to shoot 120 I am all about this video! Great job…Also buy another land camera and convert it to shoot medium format. You owe it to yourself.
10:17 After ignoring all 17 calls from my financial advisor begging me to stop I continued... 🤣
I felt so called out watching this alone at lunch that stopped the video just to flip you off
Love this video, i had a bottle of jager in the fridge so now im wasted. Glad im converting my 160 land camera to 120 so i can be like that duck.

Two budget Ryan Gosling shorts in one week - I‘m blessed.
SPOOKY BLACK REALLY IS HEAT.
24 seconds ago. New record. Nailed my lunch break. Thanks for posting this for me Jason
Alright, 14:56 was out of pocket
I've been waiting for a video like this. I bought a Polaroid land camera years ago, for a few bucks, that I haven't been able to use. Maybe now I can.
There is also a Graflok conversion that lets you shoot instax wide
That’s cool as once warm poop. A truly portable 4x5.
bro really had the og Spooky Black in the edit. You need to share a playlist or something!
That last photo- yah, it’s out of focus, but damn bro, it looks like an oil painting. Fuck focus. That was beautiful.
Oi the spooky black album... No joke on it being heat

Had to double check when the last vid was posted
I really love your shirt. Seriously. ❤
2 videos in one week = double intake of Mountain Dew Flamin Hot
new video so soon? you're spoiling us grain daddy.

Crown graphics (the later versions with the top mounted RF and Graf lock back) are also good. Got a mint one for £250 before import tax from the us.

Xenotar 135 is an amazing beautiful lens for the polaroid caneras
@@leoalejandrolive6020 the one I have is the 135mm 3.5 for linhoff and it’s been custom put on my conversion camera. It’s a mind blowing lens.
Spooky Black Jump Scare

Hold on now these are absolutely sick ass shots. Great now I need a new camera
Spooky black yes 🙏🏽
“How awkward do you want the handling on this camera…?”
Jason…. “Yes”

Another video that only 2 whopper jr’s to watch. Back to back with fries
i could never do all that shit just to make a camera work, respect
Fun animal kingdom fact, moose will swim underwater in the ocean to eat kelp, where orcas have been known to hunt them!
jason have you ever tried the twix ice cream
But it's awesome finding a deal on a box of 100 sheets of 4x5 off ebay for $105 dollars. I think I'm sitting on about 800 sheets of early 2000's expired film. Obviously the time I spend checking "4x5 film" on ebay needs to be replaced with taking the camera out more.
It doesn't use Packfilm btw, it uses something called roll film, the first instant type of film.
well well well... blessed aren't we?
Oh btw the back you removed isn’t for pack film. It’s for even older Polaroid Instant Roll Film. Their first instant film.
This was the one video I DIDNT watch at lunch alone
If you have troubles with your film back you gotta give it that Huck Tuahhh
For some reason TH-cam unsubscribed me from one of my favorite channels.
I am eating lunch alone while at work 😭
Well damn. I had one in my ebay basket for a couple of days and i just had to yoink it now
I have a 900 version of this camera, wonder if it'll work... btw you're Xpan Ryan Gosling
I can only imagine that a film photography youtuber's accountant is not unlike Hunter S Thompson lawyer.
SPOOKY BLACK MENTIONED
God damn it Jason, I’m running out of money, stop doing this to me😂
I think you should get the xenotar 135 f3.5 for your polaroid 110.. I think it's a perfect combo. I mean with all your beautiful cameras this polaroid deserves the xenotar..if you have a hard time finding the 135 i think I got 2..
I mod those into shooting instax wide. tons of funn~!
Comment for algorithmic success!
And instead of the grammatic back you should get the Fujifilm quick change. It's similar but more expensive and more easier to use.
OH...just GREAT!?!?!
I may now have found myself jonesing to go 4x5...grrrr.
;)
🎉
