I always turn on the lower brightness option in Samsung screens, in real world you don't need that many brightness (unless you want to go blind on purpose)

Maybe it is because in that situation, I use polarized sunglasses, but I also did it without them and still can use my phone without turning extra brightness on. In fact, I'm replying rn in my vegetable patch with just a cap, and I can see my phone perfectly. I'm using Z Fold 4 front screen ans it's 13PM in case you wonder.
The reason the display on the iphone 14 seems brighter than the s22 is because the screen resolution of the s22 is better than the iphone 14 and the size of the s22 is also bigger than the iphone, so you either choose a higher resolution and a bigger screen, or just a brighter screen

That's not a max brightness test. You need to have the phones on the sun, otherwise they won't allow for higher than 1000 nits brightness. Then the phones themselves will tune up the brightness to the maximum.
