i know parents all over who will, at times, leave their kids alone. it’s not inherently a terrible thing. but cruises are super dangerous with many hazards. so i understand why leaving kids alone on a cruise is a terrible idea. they are very lucky their boys weren’t abducted.

You cannot leave them home and go 10 minutes down the road to a restaurant and have dinner there watching the baby monitor. It is illegal, and this is the same as going to dinner on a cruise ship. Here’s a thought, if your kids aren’t “allowing you” to have adult dinners, don’t have adult dinners. I mentioned this to my mum, she raised 3 children between 1997 and 2019 (when her youngest, me, turned 14). During this time, we went for family holidays every now and then. She said that if you go on holiday with your children, the holidays needs to be suitable for the CHILDREN. Someone should always be with your children, whether thats you, a family member or staff of a kids club. Even when at home, my mum would be reluctant to leave 10 year old me just to walk over to the shops, which is a 5 minute walk away. It may be extreme, but at this time there was the jamie bulger case and madeline mccann, so my mum would always have eyes on us. I was a runner as a child, so that made it worse. Still, THEY LEFT 2 CHILDREN ON THEIR OWN

I only care that the kids are safe and if they aren’t, it’s not right for their parents to make excuses for it. If they thought leaving them alone was not a big deal (enough to brag about it on social media) then that means this probably isn’t the first bad call they made. And sure, they could keep getting lucky, but it’s also a possibility that something bad could happen and I think they need a reality check.

I wholeheartedly disagree with the person saying "you don't owe anyone an explanation or an apology". That is is a highly immature and childish way of thinking. Whether they care or not, people will follow them and learn by example. Some parents may think this is a cool new hack to go out while you leave your children alone. They may even think to leave the children for longer as long as they're watching them through cameras or baby monitors. Of course at the end of the day, it is entirely the parents' responsibility but if they had any conscience, this should weigh on their shoulders.

I mentioned this to my mum, she raised 3 children between 1997 and 2019 (when her youngest, me, turned 14). During this time, we went for family holidays every now and then. She said that if you go on holiday with your children, the holidays needs to be suitable for the CHILDREN. Someone should always be with your children, whether thats you, a family member or staff of a kids club. Even when at home, my mum would be reluctant to leave 10 year old me just to walk over to the shops, which is a 5 minute walk away. It may be extreme, but at this time there was the jamie bulger case and madeline mccann, so my mum would always have eyes on us. I was a runner as a child, so that made it worse. Still, THEY LEFT 2 CHILDREN ON THEIR OWN
People would do anything for money and notoriety these days even get married and have children when they clearly don’t want it. These two are the epitome of that situation.

I get the vacation was tough with kids although really on a cruise ship you can plan naps, swimming, food many things at your own pace. IMO, Matt is a bit more of a believable liar, but Abby is not. But that's obviously not a compliment to Matt, it's more concerning he isn't much different than usual. It makes me more worried about what he's capable of lying about. But what gives it away for me is Matt's wording. And obviously Abby not looking at the camera when she never has an issue with that generally. It's the way they're both acting. Him saying "It's simply untrue -" He could just say it's not true at all. He could be a bit more natural sounding. But with Abby, her tone has completely changed, not looking at the camera, has clearly been crying. The overly friendly tone, the exaggerated head nods and being too agreeable and appeasing to the viewers. It's manipulative. All she sounds and looks like is that she got caught.
