  • This is one in a series of answers to therapists' questions about using EMDR in their practice from Deany Laliotis, Master Trainer This mini-tutorial addresses step by step what to do when a client is stuck in processing a memory. It uses a clinical example to offer insight into why this happens and clear steps to create space and safety for the client to continue. This is information you can use in your practice right away.

As a client, I have this "issue" and have said too it feeling better while it really didnt. This makes a lot of sense! Thank you for adressing this 💛

What about false memories? Can EMDR make a client think of false memories? How would that work?

Maybe therapist could ask about the image of the worst part of the false memory, and the significance this has for you. The memory is false, the impact and meaning it has for you is true.
