@Jerbert-qn4in Sure you do lol, you can bulk at the price they're expensive (not overpriced) just expensive. But no one that's owned a Fallkniven blade has ever thought they suck... the quality is unquestionable, even if that knife doesn't fit your usage and isn't the right tool for that job. Doesn't mean "they suck." It just means it wasn't right for you. I have some Fallkniven knives that I don't use either, I have a more suitable tool for that job. Good Evening Lars .. A nice looking knife Unfortunately, as a Pensioner, beyond my Pay Grade. A good idea being able to buy Sheaths separately. One could then, if required, set up some configurations on various kits .. reducing the need to continually switch the one sheath around. Yep .. the Dutch 'Hooligans' 😁 .. they sure know how to beat the living XYZ out of a knife. Sometimes my toes curl 😱 at the abuse they dish out to the hapless blades. However, looking past their fooling around, some serious testing takes place on their channel 👍. 'Rubber Bullets'. Coatings (ceramic/tungsten) give you the factory tool for the longest time, which is good and great if you don't use the tool a lot. For a camping knife that would be good for me since I do not use them too much. For a tool I use a lot like a tungsten coated drill, it gets dull and you sharpen it and you sharpen the steel under the coating. For drill I found the steel of a coated drill does not resharpen as well as drills without coating, I suspect it is because of the sharpening quality of the steels.
Lars, great seeing you do a knife review! It’s been a while since I’ve caught one of your vids! I realize I need more SR Vids in my life!!! I hope you and your family has been well! Big thumbs up from California!
Lars, you're a Legend, - all truth, no bull - for me the most interesting part of this video, was the mention of your house build, Please share and update, maybe run a raffle so a lucky few can come visit and enjoy a beer at the camp!
I'm enjoying your channel and your love for the outdoors! I camp and fish in the Florida Everglades, the Big Cypress Preserve and the Gulf coast/Ten Thousand Islands area here in SW Florida. I've sighted panther on a few occasions, along with bobcat, seeing the big cat's eyes glow from the shine of a spotlight at the edge of the camp will get your hair standing on end! Alligators are everywhere, but for the most part they don't bother you, unless they want your fish! I'm in Naples FL, so, if you ever need to shrug off the cold and enjoy some sun and a quiet beach, I have an empty guest room! Thanks for the video's and take care!
@james Gasper, I disagree, and I'll explain why. In my opinion the best Knife is one that keeps it's edge in the first place. A knife that will be ready to use when you need it. A knife that won't be a hindrance to carry. I usually touch up my knife blade in an evening once I've used my knife during the day and then the last thing that I usually do with my knife is produce some feather sticks to light my fire and a few more for the morning, just in case my fire goes out during the night. This proves to me how sharp my knife is and if I need to use my DMT cards or my ceramic stone. A knife is a tool, just like a saw and the idea of re-sharpening a saw in the bush is not practical.
The convex grind of falkniven knives converted me to convex for life. It’s just a better grind than the V edge we use here in the states. Bark River Knives do some of the best convex grinds around if you’re interested.
I am sooooo jealous!! I wish my property backed up to some BLM land or some forest I could go hiking in.. Although I am to old and unsteady to hike far, but even just a half mile in where it is quiet and serene. A half mile would take me about 3 hours at my rate.. But still it would be well worth it.. I have carried a knife since I was 8 years old and my uncle told me that any man worth his salt has a knife it is the ultimate tool for many occasions.. The pocket knife I have now is a benchmade osborne design M390 steel. The blade is just over 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) and the handle is about 5 inches (12.7 cm). Straight blade no serrations (I am not a big fan of serrated knife blades).. It was a fathers day gift I guess it cost around the 200 -250 price range.. It is a real nice blade I have had this one for about 4 or 5 years now and like it a lot.. I do not think I would have spent that kind of money for a pocket knife for myself.. But this one stands up to the use and abuse and looks as if I just got it still.. and it keeps a good edge for me.. Well good luck on your new home.. I look forward to seeing the progress.. carry on, be safe and keep having fun!
Very sturdy knife, handy and suitable for any job in the woods. The knives that you present and use in your videos are certainly excellent and very good. Hello, good day👍
I love Mora knives, By far the most comfortable and affordable knives I own and the most easy to sharpen (for me anywats). I also own a cudeman MT-5 which is also a great kife that comes with a great sheath that you can carry regurarly or as a cross sheath. If for some reason I think I need a full Tang knife and I won't mind the weight I'll take it over accouple of Moras. I love the Bushcraft and survival Moras BTW.
Will you share videos about building your house? If you already have made videos I'll have to go back through your videos to find it. TH-cam stopped giving me notifications of your new videos, but I got it fixed now. Always a pleasure to watch your vids, keep up the great work!
Great Vid Lars. I've been looking at these knives myself as i own a f1 Lam vg10 model and thinking of a upgrade. I also watch DBK and find it funnily knowledgeable and great entertainment, Peace out keep up the good work from The UK.
Nice to have you back doing videos.. use your thumb to press the sheet away on the open lock when you get the knife out, since thats the way it was designed for it will go even easier than your twisting technic yet less creative maybe :)
Though I don't own one, I don't like Falknniven! If I needed a really beefy knife for very tough tasks I would prefer my little Extrema Ratio Schrapnell (or a bigger model)! But, in normal situations, I just can't be without my russian 3 inch puuko made by an obscure blacksmith... that blade is magic... I feel that we were made for each other, how it feels in the hand, how it performs cutting... it's justa awesome! I don't say it's the best, just the best for me! Stay well Lars, and best wishes for the Winter.
In Mid-Atlantic USA, it is also FINE to be outside: dry, cool, comfortable; with sunshine and with some color change in the few species here that do change color!
Hi Lars, I own a couple of Fallkniven knives including the S1 forest knife (slightly bigger than the F1). They are great "survival" knives as they are very durable BUT they are not great at normal tasks in the forest or hunting, fishing IMHO. I much prefer the finer edge of a scandi grind and a thinner blade, its just better for cutting wood etc. The Benchmade Puukko is worth a look if you are bored with the Mora 😉 Best wishes Michael 🇨🇦
I've read so many "well written comments, so I just can give 10× 💪for the "winter season" + 10x 👍 for your next projects ! And BTW my 3 knives from Yakutien / Sibiria are not "stainless" but they work well anytime, "carbon steel" needs more attention, but for me it's more "real" hand made! And I'm absolute fine with "hand made "leather cheese", SORRY SORRY!!! "leather sheath's. In the german language is the same situation when some people talking about a church "Kirche" but some times it sounds like "Kirsche" (the cherry fruit) 😂😂😂😂 😉 So don't worry, you're on the way!!! Best regards from Mongolia!
I own one, as does my father. It's my dad's absolute favorite knife. He bought me the one I own and had a personalized inscription on the blade, so unfortunately I haven't used it. I plan on buying one that I will use.
Very nice and strong knife, I've always admired the Fjalknivens but there prices are well expensive for a knife, even if I was a rich man I'd have to give it serious thought before a purchase. So your building a Dodecagon house then Lars, interesting.
If the Mora Garberg was the same thickness as this one (0.20") it would be the perfect bushcraft knife. And it costs about a third of the F1. And the Garberg is available in stainless or carbon. Just my opinion based on my needs.
Hi Lars, for me, the value for money (VFM,) concept has to kick in here, and great though this knife might be, it doesn't compare very well with several other equally great knife brands of the VFM index. In today's world, survival often comes down to VFM and of course, to basic requirements, and the current VFM usefulness of this knife is a bit like its affiliation with the Swedish Airforce, now that it doesn't have to be seen to have the potential to chew moth holes in an Iron Curtain.
For me it would be, could you justify that one knife over four Kansbol's for the same price? Every video we see you with the Kansbol Lars, so it must be at least good enough for what you need. A bit like the Silky 1000. Nice to have one but do you need it.

If you mount a ceramic rod on it's sheath, you can sharpen any knife, where ever you may be.
@james Gasper, I disagree, and I'll explain why. In my opinion the best Knife is one that keeps it's edge in the first place. A knife that will be ready to use when you need it. I usually touch up my knife blade in an evening once I've used my knife during the day and then the last thing that I usually do with my knife is produce some feather sticks to light my fire and a few more for the morning, just in case my fire goes out during the night. If for some reason I think I need a full Tang knife and I won't mind the weight I'll take it over accouple of Moras. I love the Bushcraft and survival Moras BTW.
Fello Dutch Bushcraft watcher and new subscriber of yours! Well done! 👍🇨🇦🙏
Thanks and welcome :)
Quiet autumn day, the best. 😊
Good to know all is well.
DBK my second favorite channel😉
Great video Lars. Keep up the good work!
Lars , Great knife review , I hope this finds you well my friend , thanks for sharing , stay safe , God bless !
I've been happy with Cold Steel knives. Favorite is XL Voyager tanto .
My goodness! Autumn is over and Winter is right around the corner!
Nice to have you back doing videos.. use your thumb to press the sheet away on the open lock when you get the knife out, since thats the way it was designed for it will go even easier than your twisting technic yet less creative maybe :)
Love watching your time 🇬🇧👍
This is where I come for real advice on knives and other survival gear!
Thank you :)
Love the knife and sheath. Cracking.
Just found your merch, I’m a muppet for not looking properly. Thanks Lars ☀️
Nice knife, I'll have to check it out. Safe journeys.
Stay well Lars, and best wishes for the Winter.
squad leader in 3V is by far my fav go to for the woods , strong AF and best edge retention
Thank you ,Lars .
Thank you too!
Looks like a pretty nice Knife Lars. TAKE CARE..
Thanks Lars, from the northeast 🇺🇸.
In Mid-Atlantic USA, it is also FINE to be outside: dry, cool, comfortable; with sunshine and with some color change in the few species here that do change color!
Love this review! I'm buying this knife. :)
Good knife. I carry it everyday.
Yes. Yes. Lets see the foundation work and how you traditionally deal with ground water.
And BTW my 3 knives from Yakutien / Sibiria are not "stainless" but they work well anytime, "carbon steel" needs more attention,
but for me it's more "real" hand made! And I'm absolute fine with "hand made "leather cheese", SORRY SORRY!!! "leather sheath's.
In the german language is the same situation when some people talking about a church "Kirche" but some times it sounds
like "Kirsche" (the cherry fruit) 😂😂😂😂 😉
So don't worry, you're on the way!!!
Best regards from Mongolia!
Just ordered one great video
Good choice!
great vid , keep posting matey
Another top video lars thank you
The Cold Steel SRK with the San Mai III steel is the best knife you have there, also the sharpest you've ever seen
I carry Bahco Laplander but I still baton all the time. Best way to make kindling.
Hello from Detroit Michigan USA 👋👋👋
Great review
I own one, as does my father. It's my dad's absolute favorite knife. He bought me the one I own and had a personalized inscription on the blade, so unfortunately I haven't used it. I plan on buying one that I will use.
Very nice and strong knife, I've always admired the Fjalknivens but there prices are well expensive for a knife, even if I was a rich man I'd have to give it serious thought before a purchase. So your building a Dodecagon house then Lars, interesting.
Looks like a nice day to hunt grouse or moose ,nice knife
If the Mora Garberg was the same thickness as this one (0.20") it would be the perfect bushcraft knife. And it costs about a third of the F1. And the Garberg is available in stainless or carbon. Just my opinion based on my needs.
House videos would be great.
The chai! Ihr Joggen! Blabla. THX Lars, modstanderen.
Interesting review bro
I carry a USN mod 0 when camping. for 90$ they are hard to beat. I keep an old 2 blade Barlow in my pocket for everyday use .
Hi Lars, for me, the value for money (VFM,) concept has to kick in here, and great though this knife might be, it doesn't compare very well with several other equally great knife brands of the VFM index. In today's world, survival often comes down to VFM and of course, to basic requirements, and the current VFM usefulness of this knife is a bit like its affiliation with the Swedish Airforce, now that it doesn't have to be seen to have the potential to chew moth holes in an Iron Curtain.
can you show us how you strap your knife across your chest it looks awsome way to carry your knife
Great video!
For me it would be, could you justify that one knife over four Kansbol's for the same price?
Every video we see you with the Kansbol Lars, so it must be at least good enough for what you need.
A bit like the Silky 1000. Nice to have one but do you need it.
Russian Survival batoning is like carving. The DBG need a hammer, you just a knife! Awesome 😂
A tool is only as good as the hands that wield it.
👊💀🍻
