I believe any citations, if found in court to be unjustifiable, the officer who wrote the tickets should have the money he unjustly tried to charge the citizen, taken out if their pay checks. This way, the officer would have to pay the price for any tickets they wrote if it is found by the courts that the citizen had not violated the laws he got tickets for. This would change the way officials write tickets as they could face the fines if it is found that the person didn't break the law and they were wrong in writing the ticket.

Any sane jury would realize the side of the road in this case was public property. As I've said many times it take only around 3 months to become a police officer and around 3 years to become a lawyer not to mention most of a police officers training is in other aspects they are actually trained vary little in the laws they are authorized to charge people with. Another problem with the current system is many of the statutes are written vaguely they also do not come with examples of different situations of when the statutes can be applied. Another problem with the system is that there are so many laws on the books my state had over 400 new state laws that went into effect in 2024 and this doesn't count municipal code violations or federal laws or city ordinances.

When an officer of the law applies law enforcement differently to different citizens who are doing the same thing and are for all legal purposes the same, it is a violation of the 14th amendment's Equal Protection Clause.
The court condones this behavior. If some stupid citizens don't do their homework, the court is more than happy to take their money or freedom. They don't care. They love the power.
Even if homework is done, courts will still screw you. I fought a made up speeding ticket. Cop no shows. Court issue me another court date. Cop no shows for 2nd time. State handed judge cops notes on ticket. I ask to show judge a video proving the cop is a liar. He denies my request. I show him a photo i printed out of speed limit sign (didn't match what the cop wrote) I questioned the judge what was really going on, why he's not throwing it out with 2 no shows, why I'm not afforded the right to face my accuser. The bailiff takes me out and tells me just pay the ticket or sit in the county for 30 days for contempt of court and still pay the ticket. I ended up paying the ticket plus court costs. Gotta love the corruption.

lol not every country has that, i know in the UK there is no Qualified Immunity for police and they can be sued "at a personnel and individual level" for negligence and incompetence.

As I've said many times it take only around 3 months to become a police officer and around 3 years to become a lawyer not to mention most of a police officers training is in other aspects they are actually trained vary little in the laws they are authorized to charge people with.
Another problem with the current system is many of the statutes are written vaguely they also do not come with examples of different situations of when the statutes can be applied.
Another problem with the system is that there are so many laws on the books my state had over 400 new state laws that went into effect in 2024 and this doesn't count municipal code violations or federal laws or city ordinances.

Even if homework is done, courts will still screw you. I fought a made up speeding ticket. Cop no shows. Court issue me another court date. Cop no shows for 2nd time. State handed judge cops notes on ticket. I ask to show judge a video proving the cop is a liar. He denies my request. I show him a photo i printed out of speed limit sign (didn't match what the cop wrote) I questioned the judge what was really going on, why he's not throwing it out with 2 no shows, why I'm not afforded the right to face my accuser. The bailiff takes me out and tells me just pay the ticket or sit in the county for 30 days for contempt of court and still pay the ticket. I ended up paying the ticket plus court costs. Gotta love the corruption.

As an insider who has observed the decline of moral and ethics of our law enforcement officers over the passed 40 years, what I see is increasing abuse of power, and habitual lying and corruption. The country has been in a slow decline for decades and is now in a rapid decline. At some point this kind of LE will turn on the public with all pretense of civil service removed. Be prepared.
