Why.. what are doing here? Malaysia is jungle and water...green, lake river and ocean. Too peaceful. Your life will be too calm like you are trapped in heaven!!!
Hi Chovytravel... In all the malls here they have a food court where the locals have our lunch.. At the Pavilion mall it's called Food Republic. Never hesitate to ask the locals about anything.. Enjoy your time here.. ❤️🇲🇾

Guys, head to Penang (Island). If anything, I believe Penang is a mini Oahu that is cheaper and has better food. I love Penang so much, I got my visa and just bought a full oceanview condo for my retirement between Bay Area, California and Malaysia. Malaysia is highly underrated. English widely spoken, no guns, a medical care tourism destination, no earthquakes/hurricanes, super friendly folks, good infrastructure, favorable exchange rate, and last but not least awesome food. The street hawker foods are where it's at guys, not the mall cookie stands!!!!

Thanks for your love in Malaysia. First of all, whatever food you see there, although it says Indian food, but those are already part of Malaysia cuisine, just like what you said American indian food, its not the india kind of indian food anymore. 8:30 i have to mention that thise white coffee that you see on shelves are quite over-marketed for me, the one that i personally like the most are the one that cannot be easily seen on any of the shelves, if you have a chance for some days in Ipoh, a place with lots of good malaysian Chinese food, and you should try the Chang Jiang White Coffee over there
Malaysia 🇲🇾 is awesome!! Very easy to fall in love with 😍 and thanks for your recommendation! Chang Jiang white coffee has been added to our must-try list now! 👍👍❤️
What's best about Malaysian food is the fusion. Can get Malay, Chinese and Indian food found only in Malaysia as they considered as local creation and cannot be found in other places. Nasi Lemak, Laksa, Char Kuey Teow, Rojak, Cendol, Banana rice indian curry, Bak kut teh

@@ChovyTravel Jalan Alor over the years have become pretty touristy, but having said that, it’s worth a visit at least once. I’ve never been there, but heard it’s not bad. Not just for the food but also for the night market vibe. I’m not sure if it’s available every night, so do check online or ask around
eh... Malaysia is a mixture of many ethnicities, but 3 main races are Malay, Chinese and Indian. There are many foreigners set foot here. Hence, food wise, we are sort of cater for all cuisines around the globe. If you gotta pick Malaysian foods, go for Chinese (non Muslim food choice), Malay foods & beverages which are Muslim Halal of non-porky, no alcohol, Indian foods are also non halal. Some staper f&b marking Malaysian style - nasi lemak I.e. coconut milk cooked rice, with some local spicy gravy called sambal, and some simple sides, some places you can see pictures. Signature local toasties with coconut base jam called Kaya with butter cutlet, it can do for steam Kaya Butter bread too. Staper drink Teh Tarik = pulled tea, Milo = chocolate malt milky drink. local coffee we call it Kopi in malay or locally, it can be without milk Kopi O , with milk just Kopi, all drinks can order Less Sweet/Less Sugar like I always do, in malay just says "kurang manis". Another staper is Roti, people might be calling it flying pan cake😅, Roti has many variety so it depends what do you want, simplest plain one call Roti Canai, with Egg call Roti Telur, telur is malay language for egg, you can have Roti banana at some places too😊 List is too long 😂😂😂😂
Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to recommend and explain everything! 🥰❤️🫰🙏 Really appreciate it! Definitely will come in handy when we revisit Malaysia 😁
Interesting observation about Malaysia vibing with California, Hawaii & Korea. I was greeted with aloha when I visited California years ago 🤣🤣🤣. I'm Malaysian, btw.

The vast different experiences of mostly 3 + 1 types of tourists; - Ones with healthy budget. Easy and pleasant interaction with everyone. You guys are this type. Nice. - Ones with healthy budget but cautious. Most us fall into this type. - Ones with shoestring budget but sub divided: a. Accept the fact that their budget suits to their spending These kinda tourists are easy. Accept everything as long as healthy and good manners. OR b. Unable to accept their budget gives them subquality services and goods/foods. These people are personas nons gratas of any country they wish or been to. - The ultras…who keeps their leisure and displeasure to themselves. We didn’t really know much at all about Malaysia/Malays. Definitely in KL, it is very easy to communicate as a lot of people are able to speak English pretty well.
English is being taught in Malaysian schools as a second language, Bahasa Melayu being the official language. Most Malaysians can speak mininum 2-3 languages, with some able to speak and understand different dialects of a certain language. Plus we also have small kids who speak English with an accent (i.e. my niece) thanks to youtube 😅
Central Market is actually a wet market selling vegetable, fish and meat but have been transformed into a place like as you can see right now since 1986 if I were not mistaken.
honestly, 48:00 i would recommend Uphamol 650 over Panadol. although Panadol works fast but it also wears off fast as well on the other hand Uphamol it took a while for the medicine to takes effect but it lasted longer so you don't have to take it often. plus it doesn't upset your stomach.
23:25 When you say Malaysian, you're actually referring to ALL the citizens of Malaysia. The main ethnic groups in Malaysia are made up of Malay, Chinese and Indian. Food wise, you're in Malaysia, some call it a food heaven... please don't go to a cafe and have food which you can get back in the US. ;-) Our street food is amazing. You are spoilt for choice, you have Malay, Chinese and Indian food for you to try. For Malay food, you can try our nasi lemak or nasi kerabu. FYI nasi lemak is Malaysia's national dish. For Chinese, you can get char koay teow, asam laksa, curry laksa, and for Indian, look for restaurant that serves banana leaf rice, or nasi kandar. There's really too many to list here. For easiest option, go to any food court in the mall. You'll see lots of local food options. However, the food courts may not serve the best foods Malaysia have to offer. But they will give you an idea of what's available.
Wow! Thank you so much for the info! That really helps us grasp the understanding of Malaysia. So many food options 🤤. We really need to plan our next trip 😁

Hey guys. Just want to share a bit of info. Chinatown in KL is kinda underwhelming compared to the ones you have in Western countries because Malaysia or KL has a huge Chinese population. So their populations are spread out all over the country. There isn't much of a concentrated Chinese area. There is also a huge Indian population here. So you will see tons of Indian food as well spread all over the city. If u r looking for street foods, go to Jalan Alor instead or Kampung Bharu if you are looking for Malay food. Also Malaysians usually mean Malay + Chinese + Indians. The same thing as in America, Americans means White + Black + Latino + Asians and so on. Malaysia is very diverse racially. The Malays are the majority population & the Chinese & Indians are the minority but sizable population. The Chinese & Indians have been here for hundreds of years & many are born here, they aren't immigrants (Well most of them anyway). When u mentioned Malaysian food, I believe u meant "Malay" food. Also KL doesn't become alive until night time because people want to avoid the heat 😂. The Bukit Bintang area are very2 busy during night time, it has somewhat of a Times Square vibe. Anyway welcome to Malaysia & enjoy your stay. ☺️☺️☺️.
Wow! Thank you so very much for taking the time to explain to us in clear detail! 😃🫰❤️🙏! Also, we really appreciate the recommendations 🫰🫰❤️❤️🙏🙏 Malaysia is Amazing! Upon arrival, we were speechless 😶. It’s so beautiful and such a hidden gem of a country. Very Unique, diverse and we truly find it fascinating. We will visit again for sure! @@ChovyTravel Your welcome. And don't be afraid to ask around for recommendations from the locals next time. Malaysians on average can speak pretty good English, so u can get by better than most other Asian countries.

Hi guys, glad you’re enjoying KL. You missed the food court downstairs at the Pavillion. Also try Jalan Alor night market for food. Very touristy but gives you an idea of what to expect in Malaysia. You need to hit Penang, Melaka, Ipoh etc for really authentic Malaysian food. Looking forward to your adventures. Have fun.
23:15 - never make assumptions based on what you have "noticed" because you have not seen the whole of Malaysia. Always go & study the country's background, history & culture - a point that a lot of foreigners failed to make & then make a fool of themselves. That is why they are "surprised" when they land in Malaysia expecting it to be some 3rd world village surrounded by jungles. Malaysians consists of the Malay race who is the majority, Chinese, Indians, Orang Asli, ethnic groups from Sabah & Sarawak and foreigners who been granted citizenship). Most you see when you travel would be Malaysians. Then you have a large foreign workers namely from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Myanmar who mostly live & work in big cities. They are not Malaysians although most can speak the local language pretty well.
We didn’t go to Malaysia thinking it’s a “3rd world village surrounded by jungles”. We went to KL to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Wouldn’t have taken my wife to celebrate our special day there if I thought that. 🙂 Malaysia was wonderful and our first experience was wonderful! 😊👍👍
So many foreign youtuber I see give Central Market a miss. This one only shows a front entrance. Despite it being a popular tourist spot. I wonder why that is.
We thought Central Market was great! We got to do a bit of shopping and we would definitely go back. It definitely seemed like there were both quite a lot of foreigners and locals.

Welcome to Malaysia and hope that you have a wonderful stay while you're here. While you're at it, give the local cuisines a try which those that are not in the malls. You might also want to enjoy the night life when the lights turn on.
Ah, how refreshing. I like tourist that have no idea what we have to offer. It's great that you went to Central Market first. Most tourist just went straight to Pavillion or KLCC. Btw, we love food. That's why we have lots of food here. And yes, there's a lot of dessert type of foods. We Malaysians have separate stomach for sweet food. And that ratio 25% of tourist? That's because you went to a tourist specific mall in the middle of city center. There's too many mall in Kuala Lumpur's suburb alone, we locals don't bother going into city center to shop. Come again and spend more time, we have lots to offer, especially outside of KL

one thing that sets KL apart from BKK is the language barrier in Malaysia is far less ans most people speaks english
We did realize in KL, their ability to communicate in English is rather impressive! It made our first time trip a very pleasant one to get around. Also, a lot of places accept credit card which is a huge plus 😃❤️🫰🙏. We can definitely see ourselves living here. Lastly, the people in KL are Amazing. So sweet and polite.
@@ChovyTravel In Malaysia (or KL) if u find someone (20s-40s) who can't speak or understand basic english, they are LIKELY foreign immigrants from other asian countries.
Ahh Icic. That’s one way to tell! 😅
Thank you 😃❤️🫰🙏
I would have to agree even if you can’t communicate in English. There’s gestures, body language and kinetic energy to communicate. We definitely did experience that in certain local areas in Thailand for sure 😉😁🫰❤️🙏

I can't believe this, Malaysia has the most amazing food. Markets, and street food and you guys are sitting in a shopping centre at a western franchise eating wraps and coffee!
😁 Yes! We initially came to celebrate our wedding anniversary which was just a short 36hr trip to our very first time in Malaysia. As much as we should’ve tried local dishes, market and street food. We were in the mode of celebrating our special time and taking in the beauty of the country that we kind of lost track of time. Before we knew it, it was already time to go 😅. Cool thing was, we had a great time and will be back very soon. Definitely planning to try some local dishes this time! 😁
They tried Durian ice cream though 😅 Albeit at super touristy Pasar Seni 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 Yes we did! 😁

Heard it few times from you, yes, the TRX Exchange Mall is the latest mall in KL, recently opened to public. @@ChovyTravel Jalan Alor over the years have become pretty touristy, but having said that, it’s worth a visit at least once. There are some good food around but you’ll need to ask the locals (not the vendors) what’s good.

Another staper is Roti, people might be calling it flying pan cake😅, Roti has many variety so it depends what do you want, simplest plain one call Roti Canai, with Egg call Roti Telur, telur is malay language for egg, you can have Roti banana at some places too😊
List is too long 😂😂😂😂

The vast different experiences of mostly 3 + 1 types of tourists;
- Ones with healthy budget. Easy and pleasant interaction with everyone. You guys are this type. Nice.
- Ones with healthy budget but cautious. Most us fall into this type.
- Ones with shoestring budget but sub divided: a. Accept the fact that their budget suits to their spending
These kinda tourists are easy. Accept everything as long as healthy and good manners. OR
b. Unable to accept their budget gives them subquality services and goods/foods. These people are personas nons gratas of any country they wish or been to.

Ogosh! Are u aware of how English fluent most Msians are?? Frm just ur vlog the young pple u interacted with t are so English language eloquent!!! Surprising! 😮
It’s really impressive!! 😊👍💯
English is the second national language in Malaysia. That is why you see many visitors are praising our ease of communications with tourists
That’s really great that they do that in Malaysia.

honestly, 48:00 i would recommend Uphamol 650 over Panadol. although Panadol works fast but it also wears off fast as well on the other hand Uphamol it took a while for the medicine to takes effect but it lasted longer so you don't have to take it often. plus it doesn't upset your stomach.

Also, we really appreciate the recommendations 🫰🫰❤️❤️🙏🙏

Great video! Malaysia is awesome
Thank you so very much 😃❤️🫰🙏
100% Agree! First time in Malaysia and it won’t be the last for sure!
You get all the best Asian food in malaysia. Malaysia Truly Asia.
We’re going back soon to definitely try some local foods this time 😅. Can’t wait 🤤😃
OMG u r in my hood! welcome to Malaysia!
What!? Really!? You’re from Malaysia!? That’s awesome! Small world 😂
Thank you so much 😃❤️🫰🙏
@@ChovyTravel ya and im flying off to seoul this weekend! cant wait and try out some of your recs
So happy for You! Just out of curiosity. What’s your plan/itinerary for your very first 1-2 Days?
@@ChovyTravel staying in jongno, so will explore jongno areas ikseondong, insadong, Hanok village, then hongdae and Myeongdong. Seungsu is a must for me, starfield and perhaps hyundai mall. Only 5 days to explore
Very Nice! @ The Hyundai, some restaurants might be tough to order because some will require a Korean Telephone Number.
18:30, its an isotonic drink like gatorade (they are available both carbonated and un-carbonated) and actually produced by the coca cola company. "rasa hebat" = great taste "tanpa gula"= no sugar
Really!? Didn’t know that! Thank you so much for the info! 😃🫰❤️🙏
100 plus is not produced by coca cola company. It's by Fraser and Neave (F&N).
Icic. Thank you for letting us know 😃❤️🫰🙏
Happy Anniversary guys! We love KL. Definitely surprised us on our first visit. You'll have to check out my Chinatown episode for food. There was some good, unique food down there.
Thank you so much Grif! 😃❤️🫰🙏
Right!? It’s Amazing!
I think so! 36hrs is just too short of a trip to experience a lot of KL. We’re definitely going back for sure 😁
Welcome to Malaysia and hope that you have a wonderful stay while you're here. While you're at it, give the local cuisines a try which those that are not in the malls. You might also want to enjoy the night life when the lights turn on.
Thank you so very much 😃🫰❤️🙏
Next time, we will be sure to try local dishes. 36hr trip was no where near enough time to do much 😩
Red box will be a karaoke place, but they serve food too...
OoO that’s cool!
Welcome to Malaysia and hope you both will enjoy every moment here . ❤
Thank you so very much! 😃🫰❤️🙏
We definitely did! Already planning to visit again 😁
Thank you so very much 😃❤️🫰🙏
There’s a ton of different food options and dessert for sure 🤔
That makes total sense. Next time we go, we definitely will look into some local spots 😁
Thank you so much for the invite back 😃❤️🫰🙏
if you want try malay vibes u can go to kampung baru andvtry nasi lemak wan jo and many more mwlay dish

Thank you so very much for the recommendations/breakdown of everything! Really appreciate it! 🥰❤️🫰🙏
@@ChovyTravelya. FYI KL's Chinatown isn't a real Chinatown. It's only so named for touristy purposes. In actual fact, KL used to be majority Chinese.
Ahh Icic! That makes sense!
Oh really!? Didn’t know that! 🙂
Foreigners said Malaysia is affordable luxury. I can't deny that
100% Agree! It’s definitely affordable for foreigners. Especially, in comparison to America.
