I agree with most of what you wrote but on the other hand we love to send Patriots to Ukraine, which are ridiculously expensive and in short supply globally. Seems like we only give old junk we want to get rid of, or modern and expensive stuff of which we have very little ourselves.

Not to mention regarding the supply chains, but when it comes towards the current scenario with nukes involved, no one is even gonna try invade Russia. They are also used ordinarily against underdeveloped enemies.
US jets have also never really been tested against modern aircraft, most of the time the US (and NATO in general) have used their jets it's been against an enemy with zero or close to zero air power.
The aviation is OK, its more then that. The whole idea of fighting over there became less and less appealing ... over time. The chickens are coming home to roost.

What I find odd is that you always use "Ukraine" and "Russia". Since it is a proxy war between USA and Russia, and basically a civil war is going on in Ukraine where the east part liberates itself from the west part, I guess it is better to use "Kiev" instead of "Ukraine". The fight is not against Ukraine, but against the USA-backed regime in Kiev.

@@TheRebelAllianceAreTerrorists I rely on predictions to test my understanding of the events. I take the risk of being wrong, but when a prediction turns out to be wrong, it means my understanding was wrong and I get to correct my views accordingly instead of staying stuck in a dogmatic paradigm.
But it's really, really hard for me to consider, in my model, lowering the capabilities of the russian armed forces to such a level that it would match the failures of my predictions. For now I still assume it's bad luck and factors like corruption and bad leadership that will eventually be resolved. Though that just sound like coping...
