This demand was also made by Germany and France. So, the russians withdraw. Then came the claim of a massacre in Bucha done by the Russians. There are videos after the withdraw showing Azov commanders looking for people. A local politicians says in a telegram video people shall stay inside as a "clearing operation" is going on. I am a Russian and it amuses me when Westerners speak about the so-called ethnic minority of Russians and ethnic Ukrainians in Ukraine. Only 17% of Ukrainians speak Ukrainian, and the rest speak Russian. By these terms , Ukrainians are a minority in Ukraine 100 years ago almost all of Ukraine WAS Russia. And people there considered of themselves Russian These 17% of Ukrainian speakers can be called ethnic Ukrainians the rest are ethnic Russians. But wether a person in Ukraine calls himself an ethnic Ukrainian or an ethnic Russian is the matter of the self identity, not the real ethnic grounds For people who invest so much into this war, The west doesn’t know and understand Ukraine and Russia at all. It's all about money and power! Rich corporations, banks and tycoons, make billions from major crises. The entire system in the US is designed to favor the extremely rich. Companies provide this money from their profits, which they would otherwise have to pay taxes on. In this way, they skip paying taxes and the state repays the debt to them with interest! Can it get any better!? The same corporations and tycoons sponsor political election campaigns. Politicians, more or less puppets, return favors by creating jobs for them by wars, Covid and other crises....and it's all nicely packaged and served as a democratic lie.

Thats true especially if we count the fact the EU is lost a lot from it's economic competitiveness by alienating itself from cheap russian resources and fossil fuels. The US has attacked 90+ countries since WW2 (directly or by Coups against the Government). We fought with them, except for the time US-UK Govts carried out a Coup against OUR Govt.
It's not paranoia, it's financial. If the dollar is replaced as the world reserve currency its value will plummet and they'll have inflation via rising import costs. Their national debt will become unaffordable and interest rates will need to be raised to levels normally seen in a south American Bannana Republic. In short they'd be bankrupted and military spending would collapse. This no doubt the goal of Russia and/or China via Brics and a trading currency based on gold or other commodities to replace the dollar.
I am German and have therefore been familiar with Mr. Kujat's statements on this conflict for a long time. Every now and then they let him speak on the radio (a miracle really) and he has always had a very realistic and reflective opinion about Ukraine. Unfortunately, there are very few people of this caliber left in Germany. Just look at our government or the higher ranks of the military. They are all incompetents and opportunists. That's where we are at the moment.

Only small error I heard in the general's dialogue is when he says "minority rights for Russian speaking citizens in the Donbas". While my relatives are ethnic Ukrainians from Chernivtsi in the west, I have spent considerable time in the southern and eastern regions, as well as along the Dnieper. In all those places Russian was far and away the predominant language. Not just in Crimea and the Donbas. (Which always made me question how it was possible to build a united country where virtually half of the citizens were denied political and linguistic rights). But that's perhaps a trivial point on my part. Thanks for making this available in English.

Street and commercial signs - all Ukrainian, even though I only heard it spoken once in Kherson in two years. And Kiev, within two decades I heard more and more Ukrainian on the streets (though Russian is/was still predominantly spoken). You know who got most of the federal gov't jobs in the capital? Plus, post-2014, do you really think there was free media? That wasn't meant to step on political rights?
Nice to see someone that actually understands what's happening here. I'm Norwegian, and we had a relatively decent relationship with Russia until this war ruined it. The global landscape is shifting and has been for a long time, I for one do not think the US will remain the worlds leading super power for very long. And as a financially independent and outsider if the EU we are in a unique position to distance ourselves from the US and strengthen our ties with China and the others BRICKS nations. Which is what we should have been doing to ensure we still have a seat at the table when it turns, but instead this Ukraine thing has distracted everyone and driven the majority to double down on our NATO alliance. I fatal mistake in my opinion, one that won't be easily rectified. I still have hope my nation will come to it's senses and see this war for what it is, a strategic move by the US, using us as pawns in their play against China. So it's good to see there are some others that see it this way here in Europe. But we really need to start acting soon, because there won't be too long now, a few decades at most I would imagine. And people here really need to start looking at China and begin to realise that we as Norwegians have at least as much in common with them as we do with the US. We're nothing like the Americans even if the movies might make it seem like we do, and while we nothing like the Chinese either, we have a lot more in common with them than we might think once we start really looking instead of just listening to what the US is telling us about them. It seems Russia initiated the special military operation not to occupy Ukraine territory but to show sense of seriousness in order to persuade Ukraine negotiated settlement namely Ukraine neutral status and autonomy for Russian speaking communities in the East. The two sides agreed peace deal in Turkey by March 2022 just one month after conflict but this backtracked aftee the West persuaded Ukraine not to sign the peace deal. Now Ukraine has lost 500k soldiers, country infrastructure destroyed.Russia gained more territory and will not stop until they capture Odyssey and Kharkov but also until Ukraine accept total defeat. Sadly no one will held Nato accountable for the mess it created.

Every now and then they let him speak on the radio (a miracle really) and he has always had a very realistic and reflective opinion about Ukraine. Unfortunately, there are very few people of this caliber left in Germany. Just look at our government or the higher ranks of the military. They are all incompetents and opportunists. That's where we are at the moment.

Only small error I heard in the general's dialogue is when he says "minority rights for Russian speaking citizens in the Donbas". While my relatives are ethnic Ukrainians from Chernivtsi in the west, I have spent considerable time in the southern and eastern regions, as well as along the Dnieper. In all those places Russian was far and away the predominant language. Not just in Crimea and the Donbas. (Which always made me question how it was possible to build a united country where virtually half of the citizens were denied political and linguistic rights). But that's perhaps a trivial point on my part. Thanks for making this available in English.

Nice to see someone that actually understands what's happening here. I'm Norwegian, and we had a relatively decent relationship with Russia until this war ruined it. The global landscape is shifting and has been for a long time, I for one do not think the US will remain the worlds leading super power for very long. And as a financially independent and outsider if the EU we are in a unique position to distance ourselves from the US and strengthen our ties with China and the others BRICKS nations. Which is what we should have been doing to ensure we still have a seat at the table when it turns, but instead this Ukraine thing has distracted everyone and driven the majority to double down on our NATO alliance. I fatal mistake in my opinion, one that won't be easily rectified. I still have hope my nation will come to it's senses and see this war for what it is, a strategic move by the US, using us as pawns in their play against China. So it's good to see there are some others that see it this way here in Europe. But we really need to start acting soon, because there won't be too long now, a few decades at most I would imagine. And people here really need to start looking at China and begin to realise that we as Norwegians have at least as much in common with them as we do with the US. We're nothing like the Americans even if the movies might make it seem like we do, and while we nothing like the Chinese either, we have a lot more in common with them than we might think once we start really looking instead of just listening to what the US is telling us about them. Anyway, I really hope our country to can find a better way to navigate this than insisting on going down with the sinking USA like we currently are.

It seems Russia initiated the special military operation not to occupy Ukraine territory but to show sense of seriousness in order to persuade Ukraine negotiated settlement namely Ukraine neutral status and autonomy for Russian speaking communities in the East. The two sides agreed peace deal in Turkey by March 2022 just one month after conflict but this backtracked aftee the West persuaded Ukraine not to sign the peace deal. Now Ukraine has lost 500k soldiers, country infrastructure destroyed.Russia gained more territory and will not stop until they capture Odyssey and Kharkov but also until Ukraine accept total defeat. Sadly no one will held Nato accountable for the mess it created.
