Not since watching Carl Perkins of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom in the early mid 70's have I been able to enjoy such a wonderful person and speaker and writer with an excellent way with words! Love all your videos Slim! Someone needs to put this on one of the cable channels!!!
Your videos should be a base reference to other channels who fail to understand that 'content is king'.... 11/10 as always m'friend, thanks for sharing!
I'm not sure if anyone already mentioned this but it's well worth remembering to harvest the pine cones conservatively in the spirit of permaculture. We need to remember that pine cones are the tree's way of reproducing itself and if everyone just goes around picking all the pine cones they want then there will eventually be less trees. We may not personally pick a truck load of them but if numerous people are picking in the same area then it adds up over time. And we never can tell how many others will follow in our footsteps. That said, this is a very interesting project and one that I would like to try personally. Thanks for the info! :)
I appreciate your inventive and creative projects and repairs. Please show us your shop some time. Thanks for all your talent and hard work in making your videos. Very professional.
I always love your videos. They are perfect with your wonderful sense of humor, your love of the outdoors, and your very descriptive detailing of whatever you’re explaining. I wish I could be a fly on the wall as you ponder your next builds or modifications! Your garage must be the best playground ever!!!
Your creativity is wonderful. I would bet if you had lived 200 years ago America would be a different country than it is today. Just think what we could have learned from you. Yours is by far one of the most Innovative and delightful channels on TH-cam. Kudos. Kudos. Kudos. Even so you inspire us today, so we still have miles and years to go. Thank you.
Slim, you are an amazing, talented, man. I really like who you are. The pinecones and wood knobs are just wonderful!! Thanks for showing us how to do it. I enjoy each of your videos, and you definitely are among the top 5 videographers out there!! Good job!!
I loved that critter!! He's the main reason I watched that movie and he was the best part too! LOL I think they called him Scrat (a cross between a squirrel and a rat).
I would never have thought of any of that in a million years. Genius. They look gorgeous and I will definitely be trying to make some. Thanks for sharing and definitely subscribing to see more. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍻
I was recently negotiating with an RV dealer for an Aliner! With shower and toilet installed! The day before I was going to dealer, IT WAS SOLD! Heart breaking! I will live through you Slim! Hope you don't mind! I am still on the hunt!
I just have to say how much I love your videos! I came across you about a month ago while looking for Aliner DIY bungee and weather stripping replacement videos. My husband and I are now hooked on watching your videos. I have owned a 2006 Aliner since its personally customized creation from the factory and we have loved traveling to camp all over the USA with it. Thank you!
Always love your DIY projects ... thanks, Mr. Slim! Pine cones, wood, as well as other varieties of Mother Nature's offerings, are so abundantly available, functional in many ways, and beautiful :))
You always come to up with such simple, uncomplicated, highly effective solutions to common everyday problems. With the possible exception of the ammo box wood stove, most people can copy your examples. Great videos.
Enjoying your videos. Great work on those pine cones. I am learning how to make videos from you and a couple other people, just by watching. Maybe I will run into you on the road soon.
First of all - Thank you for being you, but also for the great videos you upload, for the nice atmosphere in your videos and for all tips and tricks you provide us with! Not to mention the proffessional way you plan and edit your videos in!!! Very happy when I see that a new video is uploaded. Please don't stop making them! I would like a A-liner myself but can't buy one in Sweden where I live...guess I'll have to build one myself from an old trailer ;)
Love the pine knobs you made . We have lovely cones from our Norway Spruce , they are 6 to 8 inches long , wouldn't make good knobs tho . They do make lovely Christmas decorations . Love your videos .
those knobs are brilliant. I made my countertops in my Van from sea shells and sand from Sanibel Island Fl. and covered with Epoxy. Cheers love the videos.
Love the knobs and drawer pulls. I am surrounded by pine trees so I am going to try making the knobs. Thanks for the tutorial, Slim. Looking forward to more travelogues! .
I have collected pine cones for many, many years! I even brought some from my home in upstate NY when I moved to Ga.😄 I have a dresser that I'd like to try to put the pine cone knobs on. Thanks for the DIY!
Slim I went to look at a 2013 Aliner today and I’m buying it! I’m so excited! You inspired me, you seem to really enjoy your travels. I love to travel and now I can take my dog and not have to board her. I hope to pick the camper up later this week. I’m looking forward to your next video to see where your travels take you. I’m making a list from your videos of places I would like to see in person.
Loved this vid! I've got a wood burner/boiler in my home build and used the ample supply of pine cones to get the fire started. I'll always think of this video when I do that now!
Knobs show off beauty of nature, and fun to watch you create these....but.....where do you have access to all these power tools, table saw, grinder, belt sander ??
Nice touch! You know about a lot of standard parts. You often have one I've never heard of before. And a great tip about a convertible in the woods down there. We just have little cones here. Low risk.
Love the idea. They look quite classy. Thinking about doing the same in our travel trailer. Not sure in our part of Texas where we could find them. Keep those videos coming love watching them.
Creased me up when you mentioned the pine cone and convertible. Really cheered me up slim. Just wondered how much epoxy would you need for the large one 😉
I cannot believe in 67 years I have never seen a pine cone knob. Looks like fun...will be making enough for my travel trailer. Thanks Slim!
