My favourite part is Tom's face after Lance says "It's really amazing to be in love with somebody who you also admire" He looks completely overwhelmed, like he can't contain himself. It's a small but very vulnerable and authentic moment, really shows the intimacy between them

John Doe, the media pressure can be crippling to a relationship. Always in your face, picking through your trash. If you have a kid It can be worse, with the paps trying to get pictures. I live in Hollywood, and it's not easy for celebs to navigate. They're better off living in London or New York where they do show more respect.
Tom is a gifted diver and I think it takes so much courage to do what he does; the man's got a strong spine and strong will to undertake such a sport. I know I wouldn't be able to do it. I'm glad he has a lovely man in Lance and vice-versa; it is hard to lose someone you love, to be left grieving for a parent or a family-member and you do find yourself feeling empty, feeling that hole they've left behind. You find yourself wanting someone who will help you feel full again; not to take the place of the one you've lost, but to help soothe the ache and bring something new to your life. So it must be really wonderful for Tom and Lance to have discovered that love, that newness in each other. Bring on the love!

I was out in the streets of NYC in 1970-72 with the Gay Liberation Front after the Stonewall Uprising. I have to say I'm more than a little proud to have been on the leading edge of the modern gay rights era. I knew then that our work would make a difference, but I sure didn't expect to see same-sex marriage in my lifetime. It delights me to see the trend of young people entering into sane and serious relationships with the intention of 'till death do us part'. Check out "Matt and Blue" here on youtube. They're an exemplary pair of young men who are raising their adopted son, Crow. Their interactions are inspiring. Peace.

the age difference may be worrying, but I can imagine that a person like Tom who has had to compete at a professional level since he was very young, he's had to mature faster then others, maybe that caused him to miss a part of being a carefree teenager as well, maybe this will get him back in the future...maybe not. It is true that you regret more the things you haven't done that the things that you have done wrong though. So if this is what he feels at this precise moment, he should just go for it. The future will arrive anyway, and nobody can really predict what's going to happen.
