4tbsp olive oil
4tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp shea butter
4 tsp beeswax
Yep, best thing I’ve ever watched and copied. My dogs paws are so soft. We walk around 3 miles per day and his paws were cracked and rough, I put it once a day for a couple days and they’re now as soft as when he was a puppy. Thanks!
Audio is off for this but thanks for the helpful tip
How? Hahaha
Cici Standeford it’s off at the end, it repeats to the part where she starts adding the butters and oils in
Great idea, we use coconut butter and beeswax in hair pomade too.
I make my own lip balm which also heals dry skin cracks in Minnesota winters. My paw balm is just a variation with no added flavoring or scent. I use castor oil, beeswax, cocoa butter, shea butter, lanolin, and vitamin E. I don't like using food oils because they can go rancid if not kept in the refrigerator. It'd be a pain warming it up every time you want to use it. It also has a lot more tenacity with the castor oil and lanolin so it lasts longer. The vitamin E acts as both preservative and skin conditioner. It smells pleasant, but not edible :)
Oh my ... This sounds amazing... Would u mind sharing the amounts...my bulldogs need this!!! TIA!
Hi! Would you be able to give the measurements for your recipe, please? TIA
Just a note of caution- castor oil is toxic to dogs. I'm sure there's minimal amounts so just be aware and use caution and either eliminate it, wash ur fur babies paws after (although trace amounts WILL get absorbed through their paws, which is more of a concern with puppies and/or toy breeds) and monitor them for any unusual behavior. Hope this info helps!!
I tried on Fancymay dog paw protection balm. This balm has a nice smell to it and absorbs well. And it's certainly low cost for me.
Omg your dog is my dog’s twin!
Wow but this is good for human feet as well! Ty
Hi Jenelle! So glad I came across your channel. Do you have any recipes for doggy shampoo or toothpaste? Btw Canadian girl here too 🇨🇦
Hi thanks for the video. Would this be okay to use on the dogs nose also?
I also add 2 table spoons of sheep linolin. It is best for dog paws
Is the shea butter essential
At first I misunderstood and thought that it’s made out of dog’s paws O_O
😂
Instead of using Shea butter what thing can we use...?
Is there any alternative for beeswax and shea butter
Does this get moldy? How long does the product last?
Podría alguien decirme que era lo blanco porfi
And if the dog lick the paw is it safe ?
Is it ok that the dog licks it's paws with this on them ?
Hiii, what’s the shelf life?
Would this also work for cats?
I don't see why it wouldn't :)
What size tub is that?
I'm not sure, sorry! It was an old makeup container.
Thank you for this. I am so over the high price they charge for this item in the stores
Is it safe if dog licks it constantly
*Tip replace beeswax with cannabis hemp /or CBD works better
what's the expiry day of balm?
12 to 18 months.
Is it just me or did the audio repeat?
Do u make dog shampoos and freshness spray ??
Do we need the beeswax
Nope. The beeswax just makes the end result more stiff and less prone to melting if in a warm environment.
I have everything but shea butter... is it essential?
yes, I'd say so
No, it's not essential. What you'll end up with is a salve instead of a balm, but it will still work just fine. Shea butter is *just an oil* that has a high melting point and stays solid until that melting point is reached.
the audio is off at the end
Yes, I had to. Copyright issues unfortunately.
Is it OK if they lick it?
Yes, it's non-toxic. The way dogs and cats lick their paws, would it make sense for someone to put an unsafe balm/butter on their cat or dog's paws or nose?
Does it work for heat too?
I had same question. I think it was would just melt off though. Phoenix az here. I am thinking like a mud solution.
definitely not unfortunately. It does protect the skin but in the same way lotion does rather
than your shoes do.
I think my dog is sensitive to Shea butter
I would stick to BeesWax/Coconut Oil/Olive Oil but add a tad more Coconut Oil in replacement to the Shea Butter if you’re pups allergic.
Try mango butter. You can it at Walmart, I believe.
You can sub the shea butter out for cocoa butter or mango butter. Does your doggo have a tree nut allergy? Shea butter/oil is made from the nut of the shea tree, so is technically a tree nut. If your doggo can eat peanut butter don't assume that s/he isn't sensitive/allergic to tree nuts or tree nut products. Peanuts are *ground nuts* not tree nuts. 😉
@@RosalindGash No I think I do...I started making it for my dog, but now I give it to seniors who have dry feet...I however seem to have a reaction to it.
@@RosalindGash Question.. what grade does the coconut oil have to be (can it be any old coconut oil) also does the beeswax have to be pure?.(or can it be any old beeswax) as There's many different varieties or each of these ingredients.
Thanks in advance
Can we sub coco butter for the bees wax?
It won’t be possible coco butter is a oil bees wax is a wax so yeah not possible
Yes, you can sub cocoa butter for beeswax.
Wow you have no dislikes
Don’t stick a paw in the salve ! Super unhygienic
Your door knobs are crooked
yup and drives me nuts all the time!
Jenelle Nicole lol I am so about it, I'm really sorry I never thought you were going to read me or answer me lol🙌🏽
@@srgallmaintenance haha no worries! I love that others notice too! What were the builders thinking! lol
Omg 😅 that was the first thing I noticed.
