I'm 5'9 with a 7" wrist. Anything over 44mm and I start to feel like I have a napoleon complex! I absolutely love the blue dial.

After taking into consideration watches from Glycine, Oris, Squale, Lum Tec, Sinn and Damasko, for me Squale 60ATMOS with blue and white bezel is way to go. Squale is loved by some and hated by others, that is also what i like about it, love to go against the odds and crowd, great design and great wrist presence.
Black with orange accents is my favorite hands down. Nice review!

The first thing that came to mind when I saw the blue version is a 1957 Chevrolet Belair in turquoise and white. Ah, if only it were under 40mm ... sigh.

kinda wish the black/no orange accents came with a brushed case. but they're all still really good looking.
The bezel markings are a great idea. Having that blank space helps draw attention to the point 15 minutes before the lume pip. That way, you can easily use the bezel to count down to the pip, which is illuminated.
It's a much better idea than setting the pip to the minute hand and sort of guessing how far away it's moved.

The Matic reminds me of a classic American car. Probably because it was designed back in the day. Very nice
These are gorgeous. But... the lack of lume on the chapter rings, and the hard-to-see minute markings on the silver-on-black bezel, makes me think they're more suitable for desk diving than for actual diving. Which is probably fine, given that the overwhelming majority of divers are never used for diving, but it does bother me personally!
I just saw and handled the blue one at the Worn and Wound Watch Fair and in person its even more impressive. Met the owner of Squale and Mark was there too. both men were very nice and eager to answer all questions. I put my name down to oder this bad boy.. I was first on the list. the blue polishes 1521 was present too, also a beautiful watch

i like the watches, the grey-blueish one is awesome, such a vintage look but the cases are so blingy, to much mirror like surfaces, a cheap and easy way. Better look overall but more expensive one is an alternation of brushed and mirror like surfaces(more like GS watches).

Hi mark I was interested in buying a 1521 from you. Only concern I have is regarding the crown. Do you have any idea how robust the crown threads are? I hate watches that put cheap crown tubes on there watches that strip after a year of use.
I've heard of crown threading issues on the 1545 in the past. Never on the 1521's.
This almost seems to fall in between the 1521 and the Master series. Still loving the Master though.

For sure. The 2002 will be getting a facelift as well.
That'll be interesting to see and hope it's not a mess like the 1545. I'm definitely not a fan of that watch at all. A definite disappointment from their other superb models.
How scratch resistant is the bezel inlay?
It is baked enamel, very resistant!
So it's the same size as a Seiko Orange Monster (42mm) ie. what was considered large 15 years ago. Nice.
Sort of. The bezel is 44mm, it overhangs the case, so it does "look" larger though wears better.

Why bother with a 600 meter rating w/ no helium valve? Am I supposed to strap it to the outside of my submersible? This is by no means exclusive to the Squale, but it still bugs me.

I bought a 1521 from GNOMON about 2 weeks ago. The watch has a small piece of lint on the watch face that moves around. I am really annoyed with that and am afraid that it may eventually go into the movement and do damage to the watch. I have emailed both Squale and GNOMON about this asking for a replacement . No answer from Squale so far but GNOMON said they are deciding what to do with my request. I am not happy about this.
How would the Long Island Watch take care of a situation like this?
I normally do not reply to older vids. But I thought it important. In this case it's no questions asked and new one is dispatched immediately and we work on the return after you're satisfied.

We are the online authorized store in North America. For service, Stoll and Co in Ohio is the national service center. They are quite responsive; never heard a bad remark regarding their service.

Everyone can have their own opinion, but fact is fact. You can contact Stoll and inquire if they service Squale. We also have another service center in Huntington, NY that can service them as well if required.

Yes, the polished one has a more sunburst dial while the black/orange is more matte.

Marc I recently bought one of these from a friend (the polished black grey sunburst version) and I love it. Was it wondering if you carry the black Squale rubber band that comes with the Squalematic or the polished mesh band as well? If so how/where can I purchase either? Love the channel! Thanks!
The bracelet we carry, but are out of at the moment. The rubber strap we do not carry, but can likely get if you need it.
I have casios that have better luminous hands. To me that's a huge red flag.
Red flag for what? There's high end pieces with absolutely no lume.
