They don’t have enough players to withstand a major injury, and the season is just starting In a scenario where no one gets seriously hurt and Westbeld returns, say by the start of ACC season, then yeah I think they should be dangerous in the tournament. I’m not really worried about the Miles/Hidalgo chemistry thing. Miles is really unselfish pass first player. I’m excited to see her play again. I think Liatu King is gonna be huge for the team. If ND gets healthy, and can maintain health ... they are 100% a NC contender. The backcourt (Miles, Hidalgo, Citron, Risch, et al.) is phenomenal. If Westbeld, Karlen, King, et. al. are healthy, this team is soooooo dangerous. Could be fun to watch.
Hey Q, what do you think about NC State new freshman Zamareya Jones, and the returning ladies from last year final 4 team? I feel they will be a sleeper team this year.
Hidalgo is the best player in the country you heard it here "first" and if there is a team that will sneak up on South Carolina & USC and beat them it will be Notre Dame.
Let me just be clear about this upcoming women college basket season it going to be a exciting year with the new transformation of teams and conferences. South Carolina will have the advantage in team continuity and conference strength.
@@brorick5472 You have an argument there considering ACC had the most teams in 2023-2024 championship tournament. This 2024-25 season women college basketball teams and conferences are going through changes only by mid season strength indications could be determined. Just my practical opinion.

With veteran players Feagin, Hall (two time champions) Raven Johnson, Kitts, Tess Johnson, Poa Poa veteran present with newcomers Maryam Duadu, Joyce Edwards, and Adhek Tac. Next person up in Dawn Staley arseno.
The team to beat? No. But they are comfortably in that 3-5 range. I love Karlen as an addition. I think she was like the 4th best player in the big east last year. She will definitely make the Irish better.

They will start the year with more Talent this year then last. So if only just one player does not start, the rest will be perfectly fine. Just the core Players need to be there and even if Maddy Westbeld doesn't, she is like maybe their 5th best player. At best 4th. Even if their entire Squad is healthy at some point, highly unlikely that they can take down the Big Four of College Basketball. They are just on the outside, almost getting in. They have 3 First Round Draft picks on their TEAM right now. But not as good as those on the Big Four.
