Yeah man, it sounds solid! The only thing that I don’t like about it that I forgot to mention is that the IR-X is not grounded, so it can be kind of noisy when it’s not plugged into anything.
Probably because he recorded straight out of the irx and he had to mic a cabinet for the ss100. Many more variables when you have to mic something vs direct.
I like the sound of the IR-D the best. More versatile, unless you are sworn to always having a ton of heavy distortion. Which is great if that is all you want to play.-I do love Friedman products.
Hi that was a awesome shootout and it convinced me for only the money reasons the pedal is great but do love the amp too. What do you think of the new Bogner ultra 150 watt kt88 tube head?
Thanks Jack! I haven’t played the kt88 version but I do have the El34 version that I went pretty in depth with in some older videos. I went with the el34 because you can also swap for kt88s in that version, so you get the best of both worlds. As far as 100w vs 150w, 100w is plenty of head room for me.
Speaker/Mics or IRs are making 99% of the sound. You didn't compared the amps, you compared the IRs. Comparing amps without the exact IRs or Speaker/Mics are pointles.
Thank you for the comparison!
You bet! Hope you enjoyed it
Honestly liked the irx better here , but both together was absolutely killer .

Thanks man. Interesting. The SS-100V2 is a beast.
It really is. Super versatile for any situation. Plus the blacked out look is just 🤌
@@sir.shreddington Dream amp imo 🙂

4:58 I'm confused. Both are tube amps? The IRX has 2 tubes in it. Cool comparison otherwise!
Thanks! The irx has a couple preamp tubes, but no power tubes.

SS100V2!!!!! Woohoo! IRX sounds good, too, but that SS is bad ass! Good job!
Thanks dude! And I agree, the SSv2 is just 🤌
@@sir.shreddington lol. You must be Italian
@Dr.Jekyll haha close, I’m Greek. I married an Italian

ir x better torpedo captor sucks
Great video!!! Do you think that the SS Head with a boost in front is able to do new metal chugga chugga palm muting? Thank you 👍
Thanks! Yeah man, it’s a great pedal platform. With something like a precision drive or SD-1, it’s no problem at all
@@sir.shreddington Thank you very much for the super kind reply. I really appreciate your videos! 😊
@@matteomidas638 Cheers!
