More than a year watching your videos and waiting for the day when I can assemble a great Battery Pack. But here in Brazil this day never comes. For now it's just some pack of semi-blown LiPo cells. ;)
    Thanks for the videos.

Excellent video @jehugarcia! You didn't notice at the time but when you tested the last battery, the meter showed negative voltages, while on the previous tests it showed positive voltages; so It does not matter which way the connection is made, it still shows the individual voltages and tells you if the 1st pin goes to a negative or positive end of the battery.

Cannot believe that this really exists - I have been searching and searching - had given up - and then BAM - it's here! And thanks for the heads up on the other cell checkers - I was wondering if I could use a setup like that - now I know.
I like that it has a separate power supply - the idea of only turning on when needed is a real plus - didn't want to leave on all the time.

Hey that’s cool, you plugged the last battery in backwards and it shows you all the voltages in negative

Thank you for the excellent video, having an external power source allows the device to be more accurate. It is a pretty cool device.

Wow. This is EXACTLY the problem and solution I've been dealing with! I'm literally using two BG8S meters for a 14s 48v (Nissan Leaf golf cart ) battery just like you're doing. They've been plugged in about 18 mos. Pack is a bit unbalanced just like you describe here. I keep the balance function of the BG8s on the higher half constantly just to try to keep bringing that side down. Always wished I could just get a damn 14s cell meter. Finally!

Very nice looking unit. Would be awesome if it included a settable alarm to alert for low voltage cell and high voltage cell.

Glad you found this, I too have been using those 2x good old BATG-8S and its been serving me faithfully for few years... If its made specifically for this purpose without other bells & whistles, there's good chance this can't miss its intended purpose.

Could just turn an ant bms into what you were looking for. They even come with a display or Bluetooth. Not as elegant but would also balance.

Scott Bennet, the manufacturer says that only one set of pins will work at a time. So hooking up a balancer to the other set of pins probably wouldn't work.

Do you know the minimum voltage between cells it will read? Wondering if it would work on a 24 series of 2V lead acid Cells? To be able to easily check the voltages of each cell, that’s all. TIA

I bought this 3 months ago and finally used it on a 14S6P. What do you use to balance battery packs that have several cells in series like a 16S7P?

Use an Inverter designed for a 36 volt battery pack.

I'm just putting this out there for anyone else coming along in future trying to solve this problem. I'm building a 36V pack with e-scooter batteries that I've gotten for a song. The plan is to buy a 48V Victron inverter/charger which has a low voltage cut off at 38V. I'll pass that output through to the AC-In of my existing 12V Victron Multiplus II to passthrough. If I bump against the 38V cutoff voltage too frequently it'll be cheap and easy to add more e-scooter packs. It will allow me to tear these down and build a proper powerwall in future if I really want to without being sucked into a 36V sub-system I wouldn't otherwise choose to use.
