I like the irony of the player in game one using a Bolas avatar and then loosing to Bolas.
You could say, Crim's broken free from the Prison Realm.
When you look at the restricted list and you see that demonic tutor is restricted but bolas is not, you really gotta ask yourself what wizards was smoking. Tutors are only good because they can FIND bolas. What’s the point of restricting demonic tutor if bolas can roam free?
That’s just not a correct understanding of tutors. Tutors are good because they improve consistency by an absurd amount. Depending on the deck and format, yes, it could just be a single card that it tutors for. But generally the utility of Demonic Tutor is beyond that, because not only can it tutor your pet card, but it can also tutor the best card for the situation.
Demonic Tutor isn’t restricted because it can grab Bolas. It’s restricted because it can grab anything. And at 2 mana, that’s way too efficient for most formats.
what are you smoking actually? comparing a 5 mana planeswalker (even if its broken) to a 2 mana card that can put anything in your hand...

@@talcbba We're comparing bolas (4MV) to Demonic Tutor, which finds you a bolas (cast tutor + cast bolas = 6MV), which is bad b/c it's just paying 2 more mana for no reason. I rest my case

Chalice exists, which could shake up the meta since everyone is now playing 1s and 2s
Death and taxes really needs vial and wasteland. To consistantly compete with the dark ritual decks also, bowmaster is a beating when it gets played against you. Sol lands could be good also but they also help other decks like sneak attack.
@@silverdeathgamer2907 yea I understand the need for Vial. Ghost quarter and field of ruin is still viable for the man lands and FotD decks. Thalia is a bit weak against bowmaster but there are other cards are are really nice in this meta that still work.

only having 3 Bolas in the entire deck is the mtg equivalent of those giant chip bags that only have like 20% of the bag filled

I am an Ugin fan and I think they should have an Ugin planeswalker similar to Nicol Bolas, Dragon God planeswalker, it reads like this....Ugin, The Dragon God Enigma, His casting cost will be 1 Blue mana, Triple White mana and 1 Green mana with a loyalty of 4, Wizard By The Coast, make it happen, what do you think!!!

@@leoregulus5842 Depends on which Ugin you are talking about. Spirit Dragon Ugin (so basically everything post death in the Meditation Realm) he has to be colorless because he died and was reborn as the colorless spirit dragon who used colorless magic. Pre-death it's less clear what his color alignment was, probably some blue and red mixture. Maybe even Jeskai given his closeness with that clan on Tarkir. It was also said that at some point pre-death he transcended all colors of magic.

@@leoregulus5842 Unfortunately Arcades already represents Bant amongst the Dominaria Elder Dragons so it would be highly unlikely for that shard/wedge to be the choice. Ugin would most certainly represent a Tarkir wedge if for some reason WotC wanted to completely retcon his lore.

I frequently play against Bolas in Brawl hell queue. Of course they just cry becuase I play Emry but still. Mana is not really an issue if you can cast it on curve in a 100 card singleton format.

When you’re a midrange deck it often isn’t worth adding a 2 mana tax to any of your spells because the power level is very flat. I’m not gonna say that not playing tutor is correct, but it’s not absolutely insane.
