Building a Floating Dock DIY - how to build a dock with Barrels

Hey guys, today I will show you how to build a swimming raft out of hemlock, cedar and some 55 gallon drums/blue barrels. Enjoy!

What do you think about replacing the barrels with plastic bottles?

I would advise against that. Main reason is that it could deteriorate faster and make a larger mess. 55 gallon drums are much better and you don’t need to use as much

I am making a mobile floating
island in a similar way to this.
But welded aluminum rubber coated frame and then tarp and soil and grass on top with sand on the outer edges.
And circular rather than square.

@@ronaldmanigat Sounds cool, put as many barrels as you can fit in that 40x40 area. Each 55 gallon barrel has a maximum buoyancy of about 450 pounds. Try to make the walls and the structure of the building as light as possible and make sure to have many escape routes in case of fires etc..
