Using AI to Cull Photos | Aftershoot Culling Review

Gone are the days of culling through hundreds of photos from a session yourself. Lately i’ve been extremely fascinated with AI and some of the crazy things AI is capable of doing. In this video, we’re going to be using AI to cull photos from a recent shoot I did. For those that don’t know what culling is, it’s actually the process of sorting through all the photos you captured from a shoot, and separating the photos you want to edit with the ones you don’t. That way your not wasting time editing bad photos. This culling process can sometimes take hours and I know for me, personally, it’s one of the most daunting tasks when it comes to editing.
I recently stumbled across a software called Aftershoot and it uses AI to cull your photos for you; it’s hands down the best way to cull photos fast.

Is this really AI culling? It looks like removing duplicates based on algorithms for similarity. Maybe "are these eyes closed?" could be AI, but otherwise this doesn't really seem like "AI" making actual calls about what photos are good.

AI will get better over time. Also you don't need perfect...even a "not bad" program will save you hours as a photographer who shoots events. Would I use this for personal or fashion shoots? Nope. Weddings, events etc. Heck yes.

@@lanycera true. I’ve already used it for a few weddings. I’ve been getting a lot of blinks, blurry photos filtered into the cull even though I have strict settings. So yeah it’s still saving me quite a lot of time but if it could get better it would save even more time.
